Who's Gonna Have More Fun? Two PTR's for the Price of One!

Hey Sheree! :goodvibes

YAY it's August!! :cool1: We are very excited!

You should really try BRG sometime! :thumbsup2 I bet you would like Jiko. You guys are more adventurous eaters than us!

I want to go to Aulani so bad too!!!!!!!!!! :wizard: I've been all over the website and watched all the videos. It looks so awesome. :cloud9: I just can't find airfare to Hawaii for less than $4000+. :faint:

$4000 is a lot for airfare. I use to want to go to Austrailia but the airfare held me back. I wanted to go to Hawaii a few years back when I saw a show about the HiltonWakaloa I think it was, I have not honestly checked into Aulani since I do not see it in my future

Liked the Mod Dining updates, CBR looks good as does POR, figures since I have never stayed or eaten at either place.

I was not impressed with the food at POFQ when we stayed there but only did breakfast and we stayed at CSR opening day/week and I rather enjoyed the different set up, we had breakfast there not sure about any other meals, I forget, it was 14 years ago this week :scared1: Where does the time go?
If I were to stay at a mod again CSR is in the running their room now after the last refurb are more like a deluxe at least from the pics I have seen.

Your list of dining for this trip looks good, we are anixous to try Via Napoli too in October, will be interested to see how you like it.

Jo - Hi

Go to Florida to cool off :lmao: Where do you live that it is so hot??????? That place with the creature with horns and a tail???:lmao:

Your list for dining is quite impressive I am interested in seeing how you rate GF Cafe. I keep pondering whether I should change our 1900 PF breakfast to GF Cafe only because DH is not big on charater meals but he likes buffets so it is 6 of 1 or half dozen of the other Ya know?

Try and stay cool, it was very pleasant here today low 80's, slight breeze just about perfect :)

DH will be home any minute. I need to go make it look like I actually did something today.

:rotfl2: Now that's funny! I have so been there some days!! :lmao:

Ladies, all your dining plans sound fantastic. I've got to try Kona for breakfast! I am seriously going to go back and see if I can squeeze that in somewhere. And I really want to try Narcoosee's at some point.

I really hope this weather breaks for both of you. I cannot imagine going to WDW the way it has been so far this summer. I'm used to severe heat having lived in the South my whole life but this has been ridiculous. I've totally lost count of how many days it has been over 100. Normally we may have 1-4 days like that a summer, but it has been WAY more than that this year already. All the swimming pools feel like hot tubs without the jets! :sad2:

Hi Shelly and Jo!
Great dining updates! It looks like you both will be eating at some great places this trip!
Shelly- We loved Via Napoli! I hope that you will as well.
So, I moved around our trips quite a bit today! We are now going in November and staying at the Poly! We got free dining, which I could not pass up!:cool1: It will be a girls trip- no DH! We will be going to MVMCP too. We are still going in March for DD's 21st birthday, and will be staying at the GF!
I am so excited- only a little over 3 months and we will be back in WDW:cloud9:

Oh My Gosh...talk about hot!!! It's been over a hundred here forever---on the news today they focused on Dallas..it has been 100+ for more than 30 days!! And they are pretty scarce on rain also....last night it was 85 degrees at 11 o'clock here!!!:scared1: If you leave the doors in the house open for just a second and walk by, it literally feels like when your oven door is open!!! CRAZY!!!!!
Surely it'll be cooler by the time y'all get down there...the last week of July and first two weeks of Aug are typically the hottest...I hope it cools down just a winsey bit for y'all!!!!

Wow Shelly, $4000 for airfare is a bit much, even for 4 people. I'm hoping for a duty station on the west coast at some point or IN Hawaii, so I can see Aulani. While we're here, there's a possibility that Logan might have to go for a consultation with a cardiologist at Tripler (the military hospital in Hawaii) and we would get to go with him, but that would mean that his health didn't improve, and I would much rather his health improve over a few weeks in Hawaii. Also, we would likely have to forgo some other trips while we're here, such as Tokyo Disney, and I would rather see Disney Sea over Aulani.

If we do get there at some point, the base is only something like 15 miles away from Aulani, so I made Logan promise that we could go for at least a character breakfast. I don't think I'd be able to convince him to actually stay there (even though my Disney colored glasses make it cost less:3dglasses), but I think we could handle a visit... or 5!:rotfl:

Y'alls dining plans look lovely.

If I could be in WDW right now I'd be taking a ride on Test Track. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!:goodvibes

Good Morning!!!!
I am starting to get that panicky feeling I always get before the trip. Like I haven't done enough to prepare. Which, yeah I probably haven't.:lmao: I think today I will work on my binder. It is a disaster of gigantic proportions and is in desperate need of maintenence.

Oh and I guess I should order the park tickets, might need those.;)I am getting them thru Undercover Tourist this time ---- saving $75! Which I guess in the grand scheme of how much I've spent, it's dumb. But I have to try to save a little somewhere, right???:lmao:

Me too.

DH will be home any minute. I need to go make it look like I actually did something today.

If I want Mark to think I've cleaned all day all I have to do is throw some furniture polish on the dining room table. He walks in, smells it and says wow, the house feels clean.:lmao: I used to work with a woman who said if she wanted her husband to get romantic she'd clean the toilet with clorox.:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'm beginning to think we live at the gates of that awful place.:lmao: We're actually in Arkansas. And it's been over 100 everyday for a month now. It's getting old. I don't mind weather in the 90's- over 100 is just plain miserable.
Enjoy your cooler weather-- and push some our way if you can!

:rotfl2: Now that's funny! I have so been there some days!! :lmao:

Ooh I know that feeling!:rotfl: It's you guys' fault we're so hot up here.:rotfl2: Quit pushing your hotness onto us.
If it isn't cooler by the time we get to FL I might just hang in the pool all day and come out for nighttime. Like a Vampire. I vant to suck your blood.

I hope that you don't have to go to Hawaii, as wonderful as it is. It would be for the wrong reasons. :sad2: But if you do--- you have to go to Aulani and take pics for all of us to see.
A character breakfast might make the trip a little more tolerable.:guilty:

Good Morning Jo!

I have a hard time believing that you are not preparing enough for your trip. ;) It sounds to me like both you and Shelly are pretty on top of things! So please tell us more about this binder.....

I think you have a great list of dining choices. I looked at the menu for Via Napoli, and I would definitely put it on my list in the future. It is new since our last trip. We never go out to Italian restaurants because I found the one man in the world who doesn't like cheese. Makes eating Mexican tricky, too. But.....he likes pizza, so there would be something for him (I know, doesn't make sense. pizza=cheese :sad2:). Being the non-meat lover that I am, I almost always order eggplant parmesan. It's fun trying out different versions of it. Yum! Do y'all have a general idea of what you will order ahead of time, or just wait and be spontaneous? ;)

I was just watching the morning news and once again, they are issuing a heat advisory. But our high today is supposed to be a chilly 96. We don't have anything to be complaining about! We are surrounded by the 100's in Texas and Arkansas, but so far here in south Louisiana we have escaped the triple digits. I think it could be over 100 in north La, but north La. and south La. are like two totally different worlds. Have you lived in Ark. for 3 years or just in your present house for 3 years? It seems every blasted time we move or move one of our kids into a dorm or apartment it is in August. It's miserable! You're not joking when you say you will go to Florida to cool off!

Well, I had better get myself off this computer and finish the cleaning I started yesterday. I have dusting (yuck) and mopping my kitchen/dining/living areas today. Yesterday was bathrooms (no Clorox in the toilets, tho.)

Good Morning! :goodvibes

Yes, $4000+ is A LOT for airfare. TOO MUCH. :sad2: That's crazy. No matter how I look at it and where we fly into and out of and how many stops we make it's still that much.

The CBR and POR food courts are excellent, you should try them sometime! :goodvibes We never tried the CSR food court for breakfast. I'm sure the food is good. It's the CM's and all the hassle I could do without!

I didn't know you were there on opening week. That must have been really cool!

I'll be sure to give a full report on Via Napoli! :thumbsup2

:rotfl2: Now that's funny! I have so been there some days!! :lmao:

Am I crazy hoping that the FL temps will be in the 80's when we go??? :confused3:laughing:

Wow, the Poly and the GF!! :cloud9: That sounds awesome!

I hope you get some relief soon! :wizard:

And I hope it's not that hot when we get to FL!! :scared1:

I am too!!!!!!!!!!!!! :scared: Especially since I have been packing and as of right now it looks like we are going to fit it all into 4 carry-ons and 1 piece of checked luggage. So what am I forgetting to pack??? We usually take 3 checked bags....:confused3

Oh and I guess I should order the park tickets, might need those.;)I am getting them thru Undercover Tourist this time ---- saving $75! Which I guess in the grand scheme of how much I've spent, it's dumb. But I have to try to save a little somewhere, right???:lmao:

Oh boy I know that too well. The pools just can't keep cool at all. My kids have opted for the hose and sprinklers. They have cold water at least. We went to the pool Sunday and we had a nice time, but I find that the kids have way more fun with the hose and sprinkler! :upsidedow The other day they had the sprinkler out and Jack was actually running through it with them. It was hilarious!

Does anyone do pin trading? My kids love it!! :yay:

They started out with a few pins on our second or third trip and now have quite the little collection going.

DS12's Lanyard ~

DS9's Lanyard ~

Here's what they looked like at the end of the last trip ~

After we got home from our November trip and we started to put stuff away the kids said that they would like some way to display their pins rather than just hanging them (on the lanyard) in the closet until the next trip. So off to the craft store we went and came back with corkboards for their pins.

DS12's display (along with 2 Vinylmations, 2 Pokemon, and his Epic Mickey figurine) ~

Each year I try to get them some new pins on Ebay before we go so they have traders. I got 20 pins for $17.50 with free shipping this time! Usually they end up wanting to keep several of the traders I get them but this time they are only interested in keeping a few of these, so they will have a lot of traders!

Summer-Fall2011006-2.jpg

Does anyone know much about these Vinylmations? They seemed to be real big on our last trip. The kids spent the first part of the trip saying how dumb they were and what a rip off they were, and in the end they both bought one! :rotfl:

Summer-Fall2011007-1.jpg

I think you can trade them now at certain places at WDW....

Good Morning Jo!

I have a hard time believing that you are not preparing enough for your trip. ;) It sounds to me like both you and Shelly are pretty on top of things! So please tell us more about this binder.....

Morning Teri! I hope your cleaning is successful. I have no desire to clean today. It's gonna be one of those furniture polish on the dining room table days.:lmao:

You guys are in a cold spell!:rotfl2: Yesterday when Mark came home from work at 6 pm his thermometer read 113!!! He took a pic of it b/c he said no one would believe him.

My binder--- well it's my WDW bible. I put plans and reservations and everything I need including menu print outs, maps---- whatever I need for vacation. It goes with me every trip. right now it's a mess from the last vacation and I have been procrastinating for MONTHS and haven't cleaned it out yet. I think that's why I feel like I don't have it all together yet.

I can't believe your DH doesn't like cheese. That makes things very tricky! Mark doesn't like to eat it just for the fat/calorie reason- so he tries to order things without it. At home he eats Fat free cheese and it's nasty. I can't wait to try Via Napoli! We will probably order salads, two large pizzas and an order of spaghetti and share. That's what we always do at pizza places.

Sooooo- when are you going back so we can hear all about where you're eating??????popcorn::
Happy 4 Weeks Jodi!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1:

I can't believe this...
I didn't even realize it's 4 weeks today.:eek::rotfl2:

Thanks for the bananas! They sure are frisky!

I don't know what you aren't packing?????? Did you plan for your accessories and such/hair stuff? I bet a lot of your room is from taking dresses. They just don't take much room. Plus--- it's summer and all the clothes are smaller. No jeans and sweats. ::yes::

Your boys have a ton of pins!!!!!! Too cute!! If they want to win MC's heart---- tell them to save that pin of Chip in front of the Eiffel Tower to trade with her if neither of them wants it. She collects all things France/Paris. Even her room and Bathroom are decorated in it. ::yes:: She even has old prints and pictures of Napoleon and old books on his life. She loves it all.

My kids all need new lanyards--- they have a ton of pins and they don't want to get rid of any of them.:rotfl: Guess we'll have to start new ones!

Yes those bananas are quite frisky today. They seem to be dancing a little faster than usual. :confused3

You're right - it's probably going to be all my "stuff" that puts us over the edge and into another piece of checked luggage. :faint: We shall see.....

Okay -- DS9 says he'll trade that pin with MC, but only if she has a pin with Chip and/or Dale to trade. :rotfl: Apparently he's collecting C&D pins, but he really doesn't care about Paris!!

Love the way your boys display their pins, Shelly! DS has all his on his two lanyards hanging in his room. The cork board would free up the lanyards and I wouldn't have to buy him a new one! :thumbsup2

We, too, buy pins ahead of time in bulk. Works out great!

I just made parking reservations near the airport!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

:cool1::cool1::cool1:

I can't believe I didn't realize it was 4 weeks today. I'm such a ditz. That is indeed why you are here.:lmao:

If DS9 wants to keep that pin for his collection of C&D pins he should. ::yes:: I'm sure there's others that they can trade.
