Who's Gonna Have More Fun? Two PTR's for the Price of One!

Well you know Jodi says that the Target bathrooms have the same air freshener as WDW. . . So maybe that's why we spend so much, our senses think we are at Disney and it's okay to spend a ton. :upsidedow:laughing:

Hey Sea! Glad you are all caught up!

I am planning on doing laundry in the middle of our trip. Probably shortly before we switch over to the Poly. I said I'd never do laundry on vacation but I'm thinking with being there for 10 days plus the heat that I am going to have to. It's okay though, CBR has laundry facilities right at each quiet pool!

The laundry rooms at CBR are soo convenient. Gideon had an exploding diaper during our trip in November and it was so easy to wash his clothes, especially since our room was very close to the pool area. I think Logan threw some of his stuff in too, because he was living for Korea the day we got back and needed some of the stuff he brought to Disney.

We weren't terribly far away from the laundry room at AKL, but it was down the hall and downstairs, so I don't think I ended up doing any laundry that trip. I didn't really need to because I waaay over packed for that trip. We locked in our airfare before they started charging for bags, so I had a huge checked bag and two carry-ons probably.

I actually like that they started having an extra charge for bags in some ways. I try harder to pack in carry-ons that way. It is frustrating now that I have a baby, so we usually end up checking something, but I've gotten pretty good at packing minimal amounts of stuff and really planning what I'm going to wear.

Good morning! I just had to share this with you Shelly! I got an offer from my Disney Visa in the mail yesterday for 3X the points from now until October!!!! :woohoo: I am so excited b/c I haven't paid for either of my ressies yet so that is a large chunk that I will get 3X the credit for!! Wooo Hoooo!!! I think paying off my trip alone will give me about $100!! :yay: You must have sent me some Disney Visa pixie dust yesterday! ;)

Good Morning everyone!!

How's it going??

Today is my 6 week mark!!

(Thanks to Shelly who taught me to actually look at the calendar on Thursdays to keep track. duh.:lmao:)

Okay I have a question for Shawna------ I'm glad you guys were talking about shipping a box to yourself at the resort- I've never done it.
And wanted to do it this trip for sunscreens and such. I don't want to have to keep running to Publix- although it is part of Florida that I just adore. So my question--- how do you address it to yourself and how far in advance do you ship it and do you send it any special way? Does someone have to sign for it? I just am confused.

Target--- I have to stay out of there b/c as soon as I go in, I run into the bathroom to smell the air freshener-- don't laugh it's true, it smells like WDW---- and then the shopping commences b/c I'm so dang happy.:rotfl2: It's a drug I tell ya.

Shelly--- yay for the $189!!!! That is awesome!!! Oh and for 2013--- I vote DL and the beach!!!!!! ::yes:::cool1:

Okay so yesterday, no I didn't wind up at the mall--- I ended up buying- get this---- school supplies!!!!!!!!!! :faint:

WM has a lot of their stuff for cheap and it was easy to grab. I bought $50 worth of stuff - and I know it's not hardly a drop in the bucket of what they will need.
sigh.

Anwyay- that's all that's been happening out my way.

Anyone got anything fun to talk about today??????:dance3:

yes ma'am!! I do laundry every trip..usually about the 5th day,..it just makes packing everything back up so much easier. We bring a pop-up hamper (got at Target a few years back)or laundry bag,,,I stick it over by the sink/bthrm area...and i bring a tiny bottle of ALL detergent and a baggie with a few dryer sheets. It's usually about $2 dollars to wash and $2 for dry...depending on the dryers most of my stuff gets done in one load...jeans sometime take longer. but I would rather do laundry while they are swimming than try to bring all that dirty laundry home!

Well I'm going to give it a try this time. Hopefully it won't be a miserable experience! :)

Great DTD dining updates Shelly and Jodi!
We usually don't make it to DTD on our trips:confused3 We haven't been to DTD in a few trips. We do enough shopping in the parks and at our resort!:rotfl:
I enjoyed reading your updates!
Have a great night everyone!

Thanks Lauren! :goodvibes You should get to DTD more often!!! ::yes::

I like trying new places but on the same hand if there is nothing DH thinks he will like then it is not any fun and a lot of what was on the menu at Cap't Jacks seemed to be stuff DH would turn his nose up at :rotfl:

Yeah, it's risky trying something new. Lucky for me my DH can just about always find something to eat anywhere!!:rotfl:

Yeah :cheer2: for free $$$

I do not think I could go all the way to Hawaii even if the flights were dirt cheap. It would take soooooooooo long. I hated when we flew to Las Vegas, then the short hop to La to head to DL was nice but OMG that red-eye flight we took back from La to Ct was so long. Nope just the thought of flying all the way to Hawaii give me shivers.

That would be one long behind flight to Hawaii. :scared1: It would be rough for sure.

We flew from Rochester NY to Hawaii and it took forever. I hated it. The flight home was even worse--- we landed in LA at 4 am. I felt like the walking dead at that point.

You have to stay a long time in HI when coming from the east coast b/c the time difference kicks your butt. Just as you are getting over the jet lag you have to leave and it is awful.

Well that's good to know. I have heard that several times now. I think we will just get some snacks and take them to the quiet pool and swim and do laundry!

Well someone has to. :lmao:

Yeah, I'm just not sure the kids would handle that all that well. :scared1: I think we will either end up with a Disney Cruise or going to DL & the beach.....

Our second trip there wasn't as bad. We got there late afternoon and had supper then went to sleep. Next morning we had room service and a massage. After that I was fine. I swear it made a difference. The flt times back were better but we flew into CHS on the way home and stayed. I went straight to bed and I still was exhausted.

I know my kids would be AWFUL if I took them. They would be cranky as anything and miserable.

I still vote DL and the beach!!!! ::yes::

And even there-- you still have to deal with jet lag but it isn't as bad.

hey peeps!
Jodi..I will keep up with your dates for you once Shelly is gone...we'll still be here plugging away with:teacher:!!
As for shipping....I usually do 2 medium size boxes...I put juice boxes, our daily snack bags (which the kids all loooove!!), shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, laundry detergent...diapers when they were little, anything that would be used up and not brought back.....you know, all that fun little tiny travel stuff at Target and WM that really means vacation!!!!! That's what I ship!! I just take it to our local UPS store and ship from there. You need to call your resort and ask for the exact address that they want you to send it to, they will tell you how to address it also,....usually it is the Resort name, ATTN:JODI *****, then the address. If we are coming in on a Fri, or Sat, I ship it out the Monday before...when it gets there the resort stores it in the room where all the luggage is...when you check in ask for it to be sent to your room! You may want to ask your UPS/Fed Ex place how early they advice you to send it....give them the zip code and they will tell you...you may need to send it on the Friday before, I am not sure what the difference would be coming from you vs coming from Texas.
The most it has ever been was around $60...but I had 2 boxes that were stuffed that time...water bottles, apple juice, tons of brkfst bars and food...

Yeah, I'm not even sure we can handle the flight to CA!! :upsidedow:rotfl:
Child please. You know you will be sending me texts all week telling me how great your trip is.....

or miserably hot.

:rotfl2:

I sure hope my texts are telling you that my trip is wonderful, and not miserably hot!! :faint:

I think I'm getting a trial run for the heat here this week. We are at record highs for several days. 96 today.

I think flying to Hawaii would be an awful experience! Some friends of ours took all 4 of their kids about 3 years ago and said they would never do it again...heard it's worse than flying to England.... which I latched onto since that's where I reaaaaally wanna go!!

Ok you made the trip from Hawaii sound worse than I imagined  I truely think if I were to consider it I would have to fly out to the west coast and do a few days there before continueing onto Hawaii.

When we went to DL we flew to Vegas were there for 4 days then flew to LA early in the morning to head to DL so it wasn't bad at all. It was just the flight coming back having been up all day then flying all night landing in Ct at 6am, I was draging big time and the flight just seemed like it would never end.

Hi Shawna!:goodvibes Thanks for the info! I'm not sure how many things I want to send- I know it won't be any food since we will have the CL and we will have a car if we need to run out to the store. I'm mainly worried about my sunscreen---- I'm in love with this stuff- and it isn't cheap. But it's one of the only things I've found that doesn't let us burn and tans us-- we used it in Cabo when we went--
http://www.arizonasun.com/1e-Spf15-Sunscreen-50-Oz-W-Pump.html

I think I am going to order the big jugs and then distribute it to smaller containers so that I won't have to buy the spray ones- which are so expensive themselves!

Anyway-- Since I leave on a Thursday I think I will ship it the Friday before. That should be enough time to get there. Guess I only have 5 weeks to prepare for it!!!!!:lmao: Better get to shopping and planning what I'm putting in "The BOX".:rotfl:

:banana::banana::banana::banana:

Yay for 6 weeks!!! :woohoo:

:cool1::cool1::cool1: Thanks!!!
