Yes!!! Thanks Shelly! I thought a 13th Birthday girls only trip would be a good way to replace our canceled October trip. Morghan loved the idea so here starts the planning.![]()
I'm really looking forward to trying WPE. I'm a little confused though, is there only one location for the express and one for the TS, or is there an express "part" at the Cafe? And where exactly are they all located???
Thanks!
Way to go with the packing, Shelly!I can't believe all that you were able to fit in there! I like the way you rolled up the dresses to save room. So are you able to leave it packed, or do you still plan to wear some of those things before your trip? And you still have all the little side compartments to put things, don't you? Wow, I am super-impressed!
The only place we have ever eaten at in DTD is WPE. I did pick it based on some reviews, but before I had ever become a regular Dis reader. I guess I got lucky and made a good choice!I don't remember what we each had, but I think I may have had the Bar-be-que chicken pizza. I'm pretty sure my DD had a pasta dish, and I think my DH had a salad. I remember all of us liking what we ordered.
What is that dish in the picture you posted, I believe it was the second one down? It looks delicious!
Love your sweet packing skills Shelly!
wow - Shelly - impressive packing!! I like that bag - where'd you get it again?
Now what are you going to do for shoes and toiletries etc?
Did you say you were going to only do carry-ons this time? That's the beauty of summer travel - the clothes are so much smaller and lighter!
Hi Shelly and Jodi!
Well, we are back and settled from WDW. I am now all caught up on your PTR!
We had such a great time, and cannot wait to go back in January!
Shelly- great job on your packing- much better than my style of packing. I always say that I am not going to pack a lot, but I always seem to pack way too much!
Talk to you ladies soon!!!
Thanks Sheree!I got it at the Totes & Sunglass store.
Ah, I'm going to have to look around here for one of those!
I highly doubt I will need 12 dresses, 12 shorts, and 16 shirts for 10 days!!![]()
Hey Lauren!
Tell us all about your trip!!How did you survive the heat???
I'm sure I will pack way too much too.I highly doubt I will need 12 dresses, 12 shorts, and 16 shirts for 10 days!!

Oh, you never know! You might need to change clothes a little more often if you take breaks from the heat - you'll be glistening quite a bit!
The trip was fantastic!
It was most definitely hot and humid. We took it very slow (hey, it's not like we haven't been there before) and drank LOTS of water. Water is crucial (as I'm sure you know), since the heat takes so much out of you. It was very, very crowded, worse than we went over spring break IMO. I think the heat made it feel that much more crowded. There were TONS of tour groups. And the tour groups all seemed very large. I normally have no problem with tour groups, but the tour groups were very rude. They would literally push my nine year old daughter out of the way to get in line. I lost it when at Toy Story Mania (at park opening), one young man from a Brazil tour group SHOVED my DD9. And I am not exaggerating. I tried to talk to the young man about how rude he was, but he didn't understand English.
So, I hear that these tour groups will be gone in August, so you will have nothing to worry about with them.
To manage with the heat, take breaks, drink lots of water, and enjoy the indoor shows (like Philharmagic, etc.) Those shows are great in the heat of the day!
Talk to you soon!
Nice job on the trial-run packing Shelly!!!!I'm sure the boys will be more than happy to carry some of your shoes!

Shelly, I totally agree with you on DTD dining. Our favorite place is WPE! I think the food is awesome and such a great deal on the DP. Every year I say I am going to try EoS, but when you are on the DP it is hard to pass up WPE. If you do end up at WPE, just try something different. I got the BBQ chicken quesadilla on our last trip and loved it! DH always gets the half roasted chicken with garlic butter mashed potatoes.... also very yummy. But if you do make it to the new Mexican place, I'll be eager to hear how you like it. I'd like to try it out myself.
I want to try T Rex too, but I think just like you do and hate to pay OOP for it when we have the dining plan. Another place we like though is Ghirardelli's!!!! YUM! Not really a place for a meal, but a great snack stop for sure!![]()
You're packing! I'm so jealous! I've got 3 long months before I can start that!
Love that bag! I'm very impressed that you fit all that in there. Now you just need a second one for all your shoes.![]()
Shelly -
I can not believe all you were able to pack in your new carryon bag.![]()
I know!!
I was going to say the same thing about "glistening" but Mndisneygirl beat me to it
I noted it down for future reference. Here is the post.
I am hopeing not arriveing until Oct 19th we will miss them.
The dates when BTG are more present in Orlando are July, December and January (when school's out here), the week before Easter ("Semana Santa" holiday) and the week of October 12th ("Dia da Criança", many schools have no classes during this week).
Even when we were staying at the Doubletree nearby, we didn't spend that much time in DTD. We used it to transfer to some resorts for visits, but we didn't walk through. I don't know why we didn't go down there to eat, but it was summer, so I don't remember being very hungry.
The only place we've eaten there is WPE, and it's the only place at Disney that has given me a stomachache. I think we ended up at DTD on a Friday night as well.
As much as I love shopping, I don't really do it at Disney. Logan would rather spend time at the resort resting, so DTD is at the very end of our list of things to do.
