We (myself, DD 7, & my newly retired parents) are going Dec 11-18th. Staying @ POP. First time going at Christmas, first time staying onsite and first time w/ the Dining Plan, even better that ITS FREE!!!

Come ON December!!! I don't think I've ever wished for summer to be over before, seeing as how we only get a few weeks of it up here in the frozen tundra of Canada! haha!

These results surprised me...

I 've been 3 times in Disney Parks but always for the New Year's Eve...

Since I was a baby dreamedabout that and no many italians can say to have seen Disneyland, Ca and Disneyworld,Fl fireworks during that special night...

But you have to remember that these poll numbers only represent when people here on the Disboards are going. These numbers don't represent what the actual park numbers will be. The week of Christmas through New Year's will be the busiest week of the entire year at Walt Disney World in Florida.

I think these numbers show that Disboard members know that the third week in December should have the lowest crowds of the month and that's why the numbers for this poll are highest for that week.

Hope that makes sense.

I need to vote twice and no, I am not from Chicago. :rotfl2:

Just kidding, do not come down here and whoop me, please?

We will be there for two weeks, November 28th thru December 12th. So I guess I needed to vote 2.5 times.:goodvibes

Slightly Goofy

We just changed from AKL to Beach
Club with the 40% discount. We are going
Dec. 3-11 and it's our first Disney Trip.
I got all the ADR's I wanted except for Le Cellier
(big surprise!). I'm most excited about
the Wishes cruise on the 6th!
I hope we all have great weather!

I am going from the 11-18, not sure what day doing the party and staying off site so no free meals for me!!

I do have a question tho, I thought that week was a pretty slow week but now I think I am reading that with the free dining it will be more crowded and dining will be more difficult.

Do I need to make reservations now for the character dining and for any particular restaurants? I haven't even begun to decide where to eat yet as this is our first time there lol

Your reservation booking window has been open for 2 months. Yes, you need to get on the Disney site and make your Disney Dining Reservations ASAP, like right now. I booked my ADRs over a month ago and most of the character meals and poplular places had very few seating times left.

We subscribe to www.touringplans.com and use their Best Day/Crowd Calendar to plan our park days and then we plan our ADRs around those park days. I like to use www.allearsnet.com to look at their menus and reviews.

ok thanks, but what is an ADR? I am still learning about all the acronyms lol

Advanced Dining Reservation

Good luck with your ADR's. I have been shifting plans for Christmas week fairly easily, so hopefully you won't have too much trouble finding ADR's that you want. Definitely don't wait long, though. I second allears.net for menus and like to visit the restaurant forum here on the DIS for reviews and ideas. Have a fun trip!!!

The pp vacation week as been being booked as a free dining week for months, that's why the ADRs for the character meals and popular restaurants are scarce for that week.

As is the week we will be there as long as you are checked in by the 21st. There are ADR's to be found but they need to jump on it.

But, most of the non-Dising public, doesn't know a lot about the free dining rules and exceptions and that's probably why there's any availability at all for your time frame. Unfortunately, by the looks of the poll numbers on this thread, most people around here will be taking advantage of free dining the third week in December. I've been trying to switch a couple of ADRs around for a couple of weeks and right now there is no availability 'Ohana, Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, Coral Reef, Garden Grill or Whispering Canyon and, of course, no LeCellier or CRT. I have ADRs for all of those places, but wanted to switch around some days, but it's not looking very good.

Good luck on switching yours around. I was on the Disney site anyway so I did a general search and came up with a lot of availability for those dates. They aren't prime times, but if park days aren't planned yet, as it sounds like with PP, then they should be able to get a few good ones.

I've decided I'm going to stop obsessing about the ADRs and leave things as they are, but I might check back again at our 45 day mark to see if anybody has cancelled anything. My husband always says I can't leave well enough alone;)
