Who's going to the Fort in December?

ntsammy5, will be joining us from 11/30 to ....whenever he gets on my nerves!!

Mr. And Mrs. Librarian will be tent camping from Dec 9th thru Dec 15th. We have no idea which loop, but, we prefer the 800 loop near a comfort station

That's what we always request....to be as close to the comfort station as possible. We stay 15 days and that means doing a lot of laundry. I like to be very close so I can easily pop in and out to check on the laundry as it progresses.

We'll be there--DH and Me (Grandma and Grandpa), DS and DDIL (The Kids) and DGD age 7 (I guess she's one of the kids, too!). When DS was young, we used to stay at the Fort three - five times a year, first in a tent, then a pop-up, then a 17 foot camper.

Now, 22 years later, DS suddenly remembered what a great time he had, and we're doing the "Next Generation" trip! It will be the five of us in our tent for five nights starting Dec. 1. "The Kids" will be remaining until Dec. 10. Grandma and Grandpa are moving to the Animal Kingdom Lodge on Dec. 6 and then moving on to Disney Cruise Line on Dec. 8 (hey, we deserve a little luxury!).

We're looking forward to getting back the Fort after all these years!

We'll be fortin around from Dec2-Dec9 in a cabin....I asked for the biggest cabin, they said they're all the same. So I asked for the one with a golden toilet, they didnt have one of those either. I said "Ok, can I get the one with the strippers in it?" The CM acted like she didnt know what I was talkin about, So I said"Enoughs enough...you had better be able to give me one with a refridgerator, dishwasher and murphy bed!" Due to my persistance and stern sense of authority, she caved and gave me exactly what I requested this time. We'll be in the cabin with the van and green disney rented golf cart and kids out front....yeah......that should narrow it down!

New to site.
Huge fan of Disney!! We went in Dec 2004 and will never visit Disney again at any other time of the year! We loved it.
Here is the deal: we want to go again and stay on site, but with 3 kids and us, we cant stay in Value resorts. And for next trip, we really want to stay on site. Did I say we?? Hubby really doesnt care where we stay, if we stay ect. So, I want to stay on site, but it is soooo expensive. If anyone on this board has camped in tent in Dec. could you tell me how it went, would you do it again?? Thanks

We will be in a cabin from Dec 2-8. From your description I don't think that anyone will be able to tell our families apart

I'm sure someone else will respond, but lots of people do it. Look through all the posts and you'll see a couple about tenting in December. Good luck.

I haven't done it in 25 years, but we're doing it again this year. We had all kinds of weather--one year it was so cold and wet that our tent zipper froze and we couldn't get out until the sun came up over the trees and warmed it up, another year it was 92 degrees. Some years we had both kinds of weather in the same week! Be prepared for any kind of weather and enjoy the spectacular holiday decorations. It's vacation, it's the holidays, it's Walt Disney World, it's Fort Wildnerness, it can't get much better!

I just boked another Trip for December. I thought it would be fun to go the dinner and Candlelight processional package a couple days before Christmas. I called up and they had a opening at the Coral Reef and 8 pm processional. I am so excited!!!!

Oh.... I just read you're going to be in a tent!!! Can you put your Mickey Head decals on the sides of your tent so I can find you???
