Who's Going in October 2005??!!*MNSSHP dates & info*

Wow I can't believe how big this thread has gotten. :wizard: Thank you for responding everyone and thank you MommyBoo! for the amazing October list! October is almost here! :thewave:

Yippie!!! :cool1: Got my ADRs done (for the most part)

CRT lunch at 12:10 on Sunday the 17th
Mama Melrose Fantasmic package 4:30 on Monday the 18th
CRT dinner 5:45 on Saturday the 21 (our last day :sad1: )

Everything I wanted. I'm so very happy! :flower:

MommieBoo: We are staying at All Star Music. That's where we were our first time and were satisfied with it. We would LOVE to stay at the Wilderness Lodge but, since we spend very little time in the room anyway, would rather spend the extra money on other perks (like MNNSH). :earboy2:

I've seen a number of itineraries posted, so here goes mine (all subject to change depending on weather and/or anything else necessary):

9/24 - arrival, DQ(kids love it-I get motion sick), Le Cellier & Illuminations

9/25 - Fantasmic Dinner Pkg

9/26 - lunch at CRT w/DD9 & mommy, dinner- Concourse Steakhouse

9/27 - 9:30pm Hoop Dee Doo Musical Review

9/28 - dinner-Chef Mickey's

9/29 - Mickey's Backyard BBQ (open day-no park plans-maybe rest or let kids pick)

9/30 - Food & Wine Festival (any comments from experiences?), dinner at Mitsukoshi Teppanyaki (what a mouthful), MNNSH

10/1 - DQ & departure in evening

We do a lot of park hopping. I know this seem pretty jam-packed, but this worked wonderfully for us last time. We had a blast & did pretty much everything we wanted to. It helped that the park was on the off-season schedule. This year we will be staying later & not hitting the early hours as much. (I am a real planner-but also stay flexible when needed) :cheer2:

I am :Pinkbounc really :Pinkbounc looking forward to the dining experience. We only ate on site once last time-the last day. We were sorry we hadn't done that earlier in the trip.

Sorry if this is too long. And thanks for all the help & input. Now I am really getting excited!

Just a few extras!!

MNSSHP!!! - I used MNNSH :cool1:

Yesterday DH sarcastically (but not maliciously) said that the Disboard is all women. Well, I read some of the beginning of this thread and found 2 men!! Ha, Ha, now I can tell him!! :rotfl:

I think I'll change our costumes to something simpler. I forgot about getting wet. :rolleyes1

DH also said (rather vehemently) that he was NOT meeting up with anyone. Any way we can do this "by accident"? :chat: (9/24-10/1)

:jumping1: This is SOOOO much fun. I'm getting addicted! Not surprising, huh?!

Are we the only ones going in October and NOT going to MNSSHP? Am I going to really regret not going? We'll be in the World Sept 29 - Oct 6 but so far I haven't bought tickets for the party. We haven't been at this time of year before, we usually go in January. It seems to me that we'd have to leave the parks early the day of the party to rest - or not go at all - and then the kids would be too tired to enjoy the parks the day after the party because we'd been out so late. Am I way off base here and missing the whole point of MNSSHP??? :confused3

Help me out here you regular MNSSHP goers...what are the awesome things we'll be missing by not doing the party?!?!?! :confused3

That is just what happened to us last year. We took the day of MNSSHP off and then the kids only lasted to about 10:30PM at the party and the next day they were so cranky that we had to take the 2 younger ones back to the hotel around noon. I was going to skip the party this year but it is about the only thing that my DS(4) says he wants to do at WDW and he's mentioned it at least 20 times. SO...you can have a VERY magical trip without doing the party! I'm actually looking forward to it this year. Hoping that now that the kids are a year older and we've been once things will go smoother this year. I'm also planning on a busier morning of the party and a slow morning the day after the party.

Hi everyone! We will be arriving on the 1st of October, going to MNSSHP on the 6th! We can't wait! We have been to MVVCP before, and loved it. We are staying at the Contemporary and are counting the days till we can check in!!!!

Mommyboo! we finally got our ADR's set this morning. We have CP on October 16th (MNSSHP) for 4:05pm. Also got 50's PT for Oct. 20 @ 12:10pm and Chef Mickey's for 9:30am on Sunday October 23 (departure day). Those are the only sit down meals that we will do unles they extend the Free Dining. We are really a counter service family as we are always on the go.

Now if October would just hurry up and get here.

Deb

My daughter and I will be there September 30 - October 4th, with MNSSHP on the 30th.

If anyone wants to meet up, please PM me!

We were there last year during the MNSSHP and will be this year as well, but have still decided not to go. My DD is 5 and my DS is 10 1/2. I'm sure they both would have a good time, but my reason for not going is a little different than some others I've seen. Personally, I think it will just be too hot to wear a costume and trek around the park! Last year when we were leaving MK, we saw numerous people coming in for MNSSHP. It happened to be like a 90+ degree day and the poor kids in their hot princess costumes, furry Mickey and friends costumes, etc.... looked totally drained and they were just getting there! Don't get me wrong, everyone looked absolutely adorable, but still looked quite uncomfortable and not even started walking yet (this was at the entrance!) I am bringing my DD's cinderella costume and minnie costume with us this year though for her to wear to the CRT breakfast and Chef Mickey's, respectively. At least she will be inside in air conditioning and will change afterwards to walk around the park!

Maybe some will say I'm a party pooper, but I just can't see spending the additional $, only to have my kids complain "I'm hot"!!!

Take it for what it's worth.... it's just my personal opinion! Should you decide to go, I'm sure you'll have a blast!

Kddlm - I have to agree with you. Although I would love to go to MNSSHP, I'm not sure my 2 dd's would love it. The last two times we did MVMCP, they were tired, cranky, and weren't interested in seeing the fireworks - just wanted to see the parade and leave. We're only in WDW for 5 nights, so I would hate to waste that night. DD5 is frightened of the villians, and anything midly "scary" so it may be better off for us to skip it.

Tania, you're bad!! :rotfl: (Ok I thought the same thing!!) I would add, you know your kids best, you are the best judge for your family, and I support you in that!!

For us, we're going, I have to experience it once!! My dd 8 has one long dress Princess Style - but I have a back up plan!! We'll have a change of clothes, or costumes (how about just the Hawaiian shirts, with shorts?) I wont tell my dd it will be too hot to wear that!! But if SHE decides its too hot, I will have a solution for her!! My dd says if the Princesses can wear VELVET costumes, she can wear hers!! :rotfl:

My dd was a cheerleader last year, with a sleeveless top and the short skirt. It was perfect for the weather. Not sure what they will wear this year.

I made 3 of my ADR's while at Boy Scout Camp!! Getting up that early in the damp cool of the morning to find a cell signal was quite the topic for hilarity by the non planning WDW goers!! I did go into internet withdrawal!! :rotfl2:

Day one - arrive late Afternoon - adr 7:30pm Ohana
Day 2 - CRT 8AM, Papa does Richard Petty at 1, we all meet up at 7:30pm at Cali Grill

Day 3 - MNSSHP - LTT 5 pm

Day 4 Fantasmic Dining Pkg H&V 4:30pm - may change to 5pm later :confused3 5:30 :confused3 need hours of Fantasmic first!!

Day 5 Teppanyaki 6:30 pm

Day 6 LeCellier 7pm

Day 7 1900 Park Fare 7pm

We tend to eat normally around 7pm, and my parents havent been park people, so they dont have 7 day passes (obviously because "there are only 4 parks, why do you need to go more than once" :rotfl: ) so I planned the later hours, and some resort places - plus the Buffets work best with the variety for our group!!

I still have to figure out park plans - we have park hoppers, but the whole emh thing gets me confused!! I know I may plan more time at MK, and Epcot, but they are my favorite - AK is dd favorite, but no TS dinners there, so I'll work that into the schedule as well!! :cloud9: Who thinks planning is easy anyway... too many choices, too little time!! :teeth:

my3princes,

Why did you pick the 16th(sun)for mnsshp? we can't decide if we want to go the 16th or the 20th (thur). Just curious?

Thanks for your support eeyore45! I somehow knew I'd take some heat (no pun intended) for that one! Have a great time!!!!

While I would love to experience MNSSHP just once .. we have decided not to try it this year. Our daughter will be almost 4 when we are at WDW. While she enjoyed Halloween last year .. DH doesn't think she will enjoy MNSSHP. I'm not sure if it was the added expense; potential large crowds (even though I told him they won't be that bad); or the late nite hours that turned him off. Either way I'M GOING TO WDW so I can't complain.

This will be a first time trip for DD so I know she won't complain.

Congrats on your DD's first WDW trip! 4 is a great age! My DD went for the first time last year as well when she was 4. My only piece of advise would be that if you think DD may possibly be frightend by any of the characters, then I would try to do a character meal early on into the trip to somewhat break the ice. We arrived on a Sat. last year and DD was too frightened to go up to any of the characters to have a picture taken. After doing Chef Mickey's on Tues. night, she was a whole new kid the next day. I wish we had done it our first night there. Something about the personal attention seemed to make her much more relaxed then just going up to them at the parks. On the other hand, we took my DS for the first time for his 3rd b-day and he wasn't afraid of anything or anyone! Every kid is different!

Have an awsome trip! It's only their "First time" once!

We chose Sunday because we wanted an option if the weather was horrible. If the weather is too bad or if we really enjoy it and want to go again we have Thursday to do so.
