Who's Going in October 2005??!!*MNSSHP dates & info*

We will be there 9/30-10/5 Going to the F&WF and MNSSHP on 10/2!!!
We are staying at ASSp so far, but hope to upgrade to Fort wilderness before we go!!!

I originally posted on this thread that my family was going in mid-Oct over fall break. But who could pass up the free dining deal??!! So we've changed our reservations to 9/29-10/4. Our original package was $2929 (6 nights at All Star Sports with dining plan and 10 day, hopper, plus, no expiration tickets -- we're saving the extra days for future trips!) and the new package (5 nights at All Star Sports with same tickets and free dining package) is, drum roll please, $1997!!!! Since we are spending one day at a water park and saving one day for DTD and Disney Quest (my kids are perfect ages for DQ) -- we'll be leaving the World after spending 6 days with 6 more days and 3 pluses on EACH of our tickets. That's either one long OR two short trips where the tickets are already paid for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why don't these kids understand...there cannot be changing of the minds! :sad2: :teeth: I sold DD7 on my idea of a pirate pirate: costume as let her put the "scarf" around her head! It's amazing what you can pick up in the remanents bin!

Two years ago my son was Dracula. He wore his black jeans and I found a white shirt and the most awesome vest at the thrift store! The vest was reversible and was black on one side and black with with red on the other. It was the perfect Dracula vest! We already had a cape from another costume. I think his costume cost me a total of $3.00 that year. :cool1:

He was going to be the muppet Animal this year which would have been easy (a use for those jeans with the holes in them  ) but who knows what he'll decide on. :confused3

DD8 still wants to be Kim Possible and I had already bought the outfit for dress up when it was on sale online at Disney.

DD1 is going to be hard. There are soooo many possibilities and they're all cute! DD8 has not let me help her decide on a costume since she was 3, so I know my time is limited with the little one. :rotfl:

The list has been updated. Please let me know if anyone finds any errors. Thanks! :wave2:

Hey all you October folks.

I posted a thread a couple of weeks ago about coming up with a t-shirt transfer design that us DISers could apply at home adding our screenname to the back. We thought we could do it on lime green shirts of course. OKWOODSMITH was kind enough to come up with an awesome transfer that we can us. I'll post the tread and you can take a look at it. If we want to use it he will post a link for us to download it. As I stated in his post I would be honored to wear that shirt. What do you all think? We could wear them to the parks and easily pick each other out, or how would we look at a DIS gathering all in the same logo.

Interested in seeing your responses.

Deb
here is the thread address. I'm not sure it will post as a link.

That's cool! I was thinking about putting it on a bag or something as well as a tshirt. Or a piece of fabric and attaching it to DD1's stroller or our backpack.

Wow - that's just.... AWESOME!! First, WELCOME TO THE DIS!!

A 3rd Birthday at Disney will be memorable - no matter what date you settle on!! I think you all will love Animal Kingdom - have you checked out the Resort Board? Theres an FAQ that helps with info on AKL (and other resorts!) I think they have a large pool with a slide, zero entry into the pool, they have lots of children's activities at AKL (I've heard a parade around 6pm where the kids borrow fun instruments and pound away!!) I've seen the Travel Channel on the AKL - it looks fabulous!! It gets rave reviews for their dining too!! And they have their own buses, that they dont share with other resorts... (Contemporary and Grand Floridian dont seem as kid friendly to me, but its so totally a personal opinion, you have to go with what works for you!!)

I forgot when I planned our trip it would be over Columbus Day, :earseek: But after reading all the reports of those that went for Spring Break, Memorial Day, I think we'll be fine!! I will definately take (and advise) advantage of Early Morning Entry as well as FAst PAss...

:cheer2:

I can not believe all of the people that responded to this thread!
I will be the Oct 13-17 at the YC.
I guess Oct is a lot busier than I had originally thought.

Well, it is probably not going to look that busy when we are there. Besides Disers, I don't think this deal was advertised that much. I saw the ad on the website, but only because I heard about it here first. Plus kids are in school. I think it is still going to be relativly slow. At least, I hope that it will! :cool1:

Thanks for your help! We were thinking either Animal Kingdowm or the Swan/Dolphin, or the All star Movie Resort...since we have never been we have no idea. I am just taking info and advice from everyone and from everywhere! We have never traveled that far with our daughter so we have no idea what to expect, pack, etc.
I dont think Columbus Day would be that busy either, I mean it isnt really like a "Holiday" like Christmas. I would love to be there on my daughters birthday! So we will see! We hope to have everything planned out this weekend so we can give it to hubbys boss and they can book us everything! We want to do the Not so scary Halloween, the backyard BBQ, breakfast and the tea party with the princess....I hope there is still time to get in on all these great things!

DH & I are going as the Statue of Liberty (a little rounder than the real one :) )and Uncle Sam. I'll bring the torch but not the book. Just want I want to carry around all night! Well maybe I can get a paperback one. :wizard:

My DH and I are going Sunday, Oct 16th through Friday, Oct 21st, staying at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge. This is my absolutely favorite time of the year to be at WDW. I just love the cooler weather, the fall decorations, MNSSHP and of course, the Food & Wine Festival! :sunny:

Just reread your post - your DD is turning 3!! She'll have an awesome time!! Check out the www.allearsnet.com for more detailed dining, and resort pictures!!

Lots of planning, and so little time!! :Pinkbounc

Add our family to the list of October visitors! My wife, 2 1/2 yr. old, and me will be at BC and VWL from Oct. 16-21.

I just took a look at the historical hours for the week of our visit. It appears that MK closes pretty early (7:30 PM or so) - does anyone know if that means that there will be no fireworks show on the nights when MK closes this early? I'll be a little disappointed if that's the case.

I'm still looking through all the pages on this thread... Thanks for your help.

I'm sure someone else will come along who knows for the schedules better but, I know that we saw the fireworks when we went in November and again in late October, so you should still get to see them. Added you to the list!

Hi everyone...newbie here...not a WDW newbie...just found the boards...My dd's (10 & 5) are going 10/4-10/10 staying at POP. This will be dd10's 4th trip & dd5's 2nd & my 7th. This will be our first fall trip & our first "girls only" trip! We are pretty excited. I have a few questions....HOw do you get tickets for MNSSHP? I need those in addition to my regular hopper passes right? We'll also be celebrating dd5's 6th birthday while there...any ideas? I've lucked out every time with breakfast at the castle so I'm hoping to get in this time too. We do have to stick to budget..but I had budgeted money for food & with the free dingin we got I've got some extra so I'm happy!

Welcome to the Disboards! And to the October List!

You can order the tickets through this number: 407/W-DISNEY. You can also get them at Disney on the day of the party but some of the parties do sell out ahead of time.

There is more info here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/holidays/halloween.htm

There are lots of things to do for birthdays; here's a thread on it:

A Guide to Going to Disney on your Birthday!

Make sure to check out the scrapbooking forum on this board too! :)
