OK, so DS10 has changed his mind AGAIN on a costume. DD8 is still set on Kim Possible. DH is going to do a Halloween Tshirt. I have an idea for a costume, just have to think on it some more.

Food and Wine Festivel info should be coming out soon, I think? I hope!

Why don't these kids understand...there cannot be changing of the minds! :sad2: :teeth: I sold DD7 on my idea of a pirate pirate: costume as let her put the "scarf" around her head! It's amazing what you can pick up in the remanents bin!

Hey all you October folks.

I posted a thread a couple of weeks ago about coming up with a t-shirt transfer design that us DISers could apply at home adding our screenname to the back. We thought we could do it on lime green shirts of course. OKWOODSMITH was kind enough to come up with an awesome transfer that we can us. I'll post the tread and you can take a look at it. If we want to use it he will post a link for us to download it. As I stated in his post I would be honored to wear that shirt. What do you all think? We could wear them to the parks and easily pick each other out, or how would we look at a DIS gathering all in the same logo.

Interested in seeing your responses.

Deb
here is the thread address. I'm not sure it will post as a link.

What a wonderful idea! Please tell me more about the Mickey ears from Home Depot.

Lori

At the Home Depot Paint Dept. they have paint samples that are in the shape of Mickey silhouette (3 circles) :earsboy: people use the lime green ones to name tags and other things to I.D. themselves as Dis'ers.

Most craft stores sell magnetic sheets with an adhesive backing you can cut after applying the Mickey silhouette to it.

Right you are! I'm going to have to go to Hope Depot. :teeth: THe magnets are part of our stock at home. What a wonderful way to identify your room!

We are going Oct. 8-15 and staying offsite with our 2 yr. old in Formosa Gardens. We took her last year when she was 14 months and stayed at the Beach Club Villas. She loved the characters at the character breakfasts and parks. Going for some extra space and a private pool this year. We went to the party last year and loved the fireworks display. Bought tickets the other day for Thursday, Oct. 13 this year....should be fun if she doesn't become afraid of the characters (cross your fingers).

That t-shirt idea is awesome!! I would definately like to use that iron on when I'm there in October. Thanks!!

DD 12 gave her Halloween Costume a test run the other night. She is dressing up from a masquarade ball and she wore he long prom dress to the middle school semi formal... yes she was in a long gown at a semi  It has been really HH&H up here for the past week and a half and she did fine in it. I suggest to any and everyone doing MNSSHP for the first time give you costumes a test run in the heat of summer or early fall (if you have them). This will be our first time going and I would hate to have spent the money and have the kids crabbing all night because they are hot!
Oh! bought her prom dress/ halloween costume at Filenes for $47 on clearance!!! :Pinkbounc

You know...what we need to do when it gets closer to October and everyone has their costumes is take pictures and post them. I think that'd be fun! :cheer2:

We are going to be staying at the BCV from Oct.20th through Oct.25th. My sister and brother-in-law will be traveling with us for Epcot's Food and Wine Festival. We are all looking forward to this "adult" vacation!!! If you see us..please say hello! We will be easy to spot. My husband and I are in our 50's and have matching shades of almost white hair (both prematurely!)..my husband has a beard..I do not. My sister is a blonde, recently joining the 50's club and a parapeligic, so will be traveling in her own wheelchair. She will be the most boisterious among us. Her husband will be the one rolling his eyes at her latest antics. Hope to see you there!

Sounds like a good idea! The last weeks of Sept we should do a thread on what costume we will be wearing. We are still unsure over here. Well we do have 3 months left to decide right!? :rotfl:

We have our park tickets and hotel reservation for Oct. 22-27... :thewave:

Our oldest daughter is getting over a fear of characters- not sure if characters dressed in Halloween costumes for MNSSHP will send her over the edge...LOL!...The baby will love it though~! Maybe Tuesday the 25th if I can talk everyone into it- hope it's not sold out when I do... :earseek:

We are psyched about the Food and Wine Festival- Hubby is a fabulous homebrewer (homebrew links on our website) and we just got back from San Francisco on a tour of wineries in Napa Valley! :drinking1

I downloaded the awesome October DIS t-shirt my3princes, and I appreciate the spreadsheet mommyboo! (please add us!)... Need to hit Home Depot for the "nametags" and probably order some standard DIS shirts!:disrocks:

Not sure if I posted on this thread already or not, but we will be there from October 15th - 22nd at the POFQ.

We are doing MNSSHP on Sunday (16th) and the 5:00 Hoop De Doo on Thursday (20th). It is our daughter's first trip (she'll be 3) and it happens to be our 5th anniversary on the 14th so I guess we'll be celebrating that too.

Sorry but I too don't remember if I posted so here we go! DH & I are going from 10/30 - 11/2 & staying at BWV.Just in case you can't see my coutdown clock hehehe. :rotfl: We have our tickets for the Halloween party for Halloween & hope to take some time & stop by the F&W festival at Epcot. Hope to see some of you there! :wave2:

Going to MNSSHP on 10/2 and F&W festival first time too . Are most people getting dressed up?

Several of us have discussed what we are wearing, there was a thread of pictures from previous MNSSHP, it sounds like do what you feel comfortable with! For us, it will give DD another opportunity to wear her Princess costume, and as I love to "pretend" too, I plan on dressing as the "Queen" mother to Aurora!! Dh and my parents are liable to just wear Halloween Tshirts/ 'this is my costume' type deal...

but then again as I narrow down my choices of costumes, dh has decided to 'do something' and my dad loves Jimmy Buffet, so he's started thinking "Parrot Head".... or maybe a Harley Biker thing... :rotfl: My mom is waiting for me to decide, she's thinking of matching me!!

Many posters are creative in coming up with Disney themed family matching costumes, Pirates, Peter Pan, Dalmations, Snow White/7 Dwarfs...

So it just depends on what YOU want to do, either way, you'll fit in just fine from what I've read....

I am going in Oct possibly. We will stay at POP. We will go either the 14-17 or 21-24. This will be me and dbf first trip to DW together!
