We are planning MNSSHP on the 17th (Sunday). :earboy2: I still don't know what we are going to wear! Any ideas out there?

Good question. Our Disney store closed. I wish I had bought something at the end of last year but we were planning a spring break trip for 05. We moved our trip back because I just had ankle surgery. I would want something comfortable for DS 8 and DS 5. Many of the disney costumes seem like they would be too hot. Any ideas? :scratchin

:Pinkbounc Quick question for you all:

This will hopefully *crosses fingers* be our first MNSSHP (if I can finance it right). Will Oct 21st (FRI) or Oct 23rd (SUN) be better? Since I have never been, I want to experience it ALL! Also, DH and I will be leaving that Monday (around 4 pm).

I think Sunday would be better because I would imagine that more locals would come to the party on a Friday night.

I would do Sunday. Last year we went Sunday the 24th. There was school Monday, so waits and crowds were minimal - we got to ride Splash mountain twice!

I have a very easy Peter Pan or Robin Hood costume Idea. I made it for my son just to play in 5 or 6 years ago and it has held up awesome. This is the time of year to do it too. To make it get a Turtleneck that is way too big for your son. My son was in a 4 at the time and I bought him a 10-12. In the front of the shirt, centered cut through the Neck down maybe 2 inches past the seam. You are making a v-neck shirt with a collar. i didn't even sew the cuts and they didn't unravel. Now cut the arms off using a zig zag pattern to make it short sleeved. Do the same at the bottom. Leave it long enough to put a belt around it and still have it over the butt. I just put a brown belt on my son that I made out of ribbon. He tucked a sword in it. I got some green leggings that he wore for pants. You could do green tights or even shorts depeneding on the weather. Our local stores have Peter Pan or elf type hats, but you could even pick one up when you get to Disney I know that I have seen them in the parks. There you have it Peter Pan or change the color and you have Robin Hood. Lightweight and as warm or cool as you want to make it. I can come up with other ideas, but I would need to know if you have ds or dd. We are going as characters from Hercules. DS2 is Pegasus (that took forever to make), ds7 Hercules, ds9 Hades, DH Zues and myself Meg. We went with the Hercules theme because the costumes are cooler (ie not too hot for Florida) but we can still put things under theme and wear them in Vermont (we have some cold halloween nights here).

Me, DH, DD and 2 Grand-Daughters Oct. 18-23 staying at the Poly.

Has anyone figured out who's going when in Oct - a chart that would see who's trips overlap and who's staying where?

Yep, I'm working on that. It will also have what night(s) people are going to MNSSHP.

Thank you! That's a great idea. I only have a girl (7) though. Not to say she wouldn't want to be Peter Pan or Robin Hood. Depends what mood she's in that day! :flower: I will keep that in mind for my nephews. I am the only one in my family that sews (not well, mind you). I am thinking of making DD her outfit so that it doesn't look like any others.

Wow, thanks for taking the time to make a chart/list (whatever we're calling it :) )! Very much appreciated. :flower: I can't wait to see it.

I need to get DS 5 to go as Peter Pan...after all his name is Peter. He is so iffy about halloween at all. He's one of the few kiddos that is actually overwhelmed by that holiday. He likes to stay at home and pass out candy. One year (I think he was 3) I made him put on his Woody costume so I could get a picture for the scrapebook. He held up his arm over his face for the picture...it was amusing. Lately, he has been dressing up in some of the old costumes we have accumulated. I will have to remember that he isn't going to let me "overdue" when it comes to the cosutme! My DS that will be 8 will pretty much go for anything! :cool1:

YourMajesty, that would be perfect if your DS would be Peter Pan since his name is Peter! I bet he'd look so cute as Peter Pan. :wizard:

I have a nephew just like that. He's 14 now and never did go trick-or-treating. Some kids are just like that. But there were plenty of kids not dressed up for MNSSHP. So, he wouldn't be the only one not to be dressed up. Whatever makes him have more fun I'd say!

Oh...just had an idea...I'm going as the dancing banana  The only one's that will get it will be fellow Dis'ers, but oh well. Now where could I get something like that??? :rotfl:

I've seen banana costumes, but I think it's up to you to make it dance... .

We are. Maybe. If I can talk DH into it!

He loves WDW just as much as me & DD and has enjoyed our annual Fall trips there but he decided we need to skip a trip this year (for many reasons).

My DD has a 3-day Fall Break in October and I would LOVE to make a short trip to Disney World to go back to MNSSHP. I'll have to work my charm and see what happens! :wizard:

Oh, and if we do go - - - we'd be there October 26-29.

Debbie

We're planning on going in October. :bounce: We haven't finalized anything though, this was a recent decision we made. I have no idea where to beging the planning. :scared:
