There is a shuttle launch scheduled for Feb 7 at 4:39 a.m. Have viewed it in the day from the orlando area before (I drive) hope to see this launch in the darkeness. It's it quite a distance, but still worthy of watching

We're thinking of leaving really early to check out the launch. we were planning to go to Kennedy that day anyway...just now going really early! Would it be smart to just try and see it from the resort?

I would drive to a beach on the east coast (maybe Cocoa or Daytona) to see it. We were at Cocoa beach last year and you can see where launch is in the distance.

if your going that day anyway - I would leave early for the viewing in a heartbeat - I have never seen it that close but am told it is amazing - just keep your eye on the offical launch site our friends were down over the summer and it was delayed a few times

Starting to pack tonight. We are leaving Friday afternoon around 2:30 and driving to Orlando that night. We'll check in early Saturday morning at the POFQ and head to the parks. Too bad Saturday there is a 70% chance of rain. I'm praying the rain moves on before we get down there!
