 Plans for us so far are to split a stay at Poly (1 night), AKL CL (3 nights), BWI (3 nights), GF RPC (3 nights).

Any other DISers going?

Wow! I thought we were resort hopping alot!
We're booked at Pop Aug 13-18, WL 18-21 and BCV 21-27
IF I can get a code Im hoping to make 13-21 all WL

We are going to be there Aug 6-13. Thinking of staying at Universal 6-8 and Disney 8-13. I was planning on staying at WL but quite honestly the show on the travel channel about it dampened my enthusiasm. My kids will be 9 and 12 when we are there. We have only stayed in ASM before. Any suggestions? Should I stick with WL plan? Also if I don't check in to my hotel early in the am are my chances of getting a good room diminished?

I'm thinking about going in August if I can get a good rate. I'm trying to decide betweed WL (standard), YC (standard), and AKL (savanah). I'm not sure how many will be going. I may be traveling alone with three kids. Maybe bring a babysitter. Maybe DH will come down for part of the trip. Oh, why can't I decide what to do. Tempt me WDW, give me a deal, force me to decide.

August 24th - 30th at the Dolphin.

Sharkbait, I'm curious, what dampened your enthusiasm from the Travel Channel show? If it's the themeing, you might want to rethink your resort choice. The WL is very well themed, very immersive in that rustic American NorthWest style. If that's not your thing, you might consider something else.

I stayed at WL once & while I enjoyed the theme & the location, we had some management issues that were disheartening. It is a beautiful resort, tho. I would stay there again.

We are going "home" to BWVs August 22-29 and then on to celebrate my 33rd birthday at AKL concierge August 29-31!!! :wizard:

8/24 - 8/28 Polynesian...hoping for a code to save a little $$$$

We stayed at WL in 2002 and loved it! It is so beautiful and the theming is unbelievable. We'd stay there again, but now we have 5 and their standard rooms only accomodate 4, plus there are so many wonderful resorts we wanted to try another one this time. What did you see on the show that changed your mind?

Right now were booked at GF August 13-20th. I went from BC to Poly to BC to Poly to GF.

We are going August 6-13 staying at AKL - as of now. We have stayed at many other resorts - going to try a new one this time! :sunny:

What didn't you like about the resort? I stayed there during value season, early December, and had a great stay. The rooms were small, though, and you are not in the middle of the action like an Epcot resort or even a monorail resort. Another resort that is remote feeling and has incredible theming is AKL. That's my five year old's favorite resort because he loves the animals and pool area there. :cloud9:

AKL aug 6-12th

I am another one who is not "sold" on the WL..I have been hearing really mixed reviews. The theming is ok..I don't hate it, I don't love it. When I visited last year I didn't fall in love with it like I did with AKL..it is a personal choice.

We are going August 2-16th. 8/2-8/4 Royal Pacific, 8/4-8/7 Boardwalk Villas, 8/7-8/12 Beach Club Villas, 8/12-8/16 Animal Kingdom Lodge. We were going to stay 8/4-8/12 at BCV, but a AAA discount came up for 2 bedroom at BWV, so we took it to save $300 on those first 3 nights, we're renting points for the SUn-Thurs. Of course all of this is subject to change because I have a hard time picking a resort and sticking to it.

At least I know we'll be there :cool1:

8\23-8\26 BCV 8\26-8\31 WL - renting points and trying out the BCV for the first time!

We are the total opposite of resort hoppers! So we've grabbed a one bedroom suite and plan on movin' in for nine days! LOL!

AKGHUTTON! I'll be celebrating my birthday also on the 29th. Happy Birthday to you!

I hope to be going Aug. 2-6 prior to my cruise. I'm not sure where I'll be staying yet. AKL if we can get a code rate, POFQ if we can't. Time will tell!
