Who's going 8/2/03 Western cruise?

Ok, I have 5 minutes today to think. Let's start a list of people who would like to reserve the Palo Brunch together. It would be fun to touch base after our initial meet.

My DH, DM & DD are interested.....

Tom and I are in for the brunch!

Anybody else...................

Hi Everyone,
I am new to this post and am very excited to see so many people are going to be on the same cruise with me and my family. I do not have any teens, but I do have a daughter who is 11 and a son who is 8.

Is there anyone out there who has children around that age that will be cruising on August 2nd?

Welcome mommadukes to our little group!

MY DS Michael is 8 and he likes the Club, Mickey Pool, and the Family Beach Castaway Cay best! He is involved with piano and dressage (horseback riding).

Rae

Hi Rae,

Thanks for the warm welcome!! My son Zack will have to look for Michael at all of his favorite places. Zack is very much into playing baseball and going on adventures with his cub scout troop. I'm sure these two little guys will have fun together.

This is our family's first Disney Cruise. Any good suggestions for us?

Anita/mommadukes

Hey Momma! There are tons of younger kids on this cruise. My nephews may be coming but I'm not sure. WE WiLL ALL HAVE a BLAST!!!

Hi Anita!
Don't overplan your days! Keep things simple and make choices the night before that are in sand not concrete!

Western as a busier itinerary than Eastern, and we all get tired and hot by the end of the day, so plan naps accordingly!

Don't overpack!!

And go see the family show of "Dueling Pianos"! It's wonderful, especially if the news that Fidelio is back at the keyboard!!!

Rae

Thanks for the great advice. I'll be traveling with my in-laws who love to just go, go, go!!! We are trying to decide on the best excursions at this point. Are there any that you highly recommend?
:jester:

Through shoretrips.com, I've scheduled us for the horseback riding and Stingray City at Grand Cayman and the Dolphin Swim at Cozumel.

Our Western was diverted last year so I have no idea what to recommend - everything sounds pretty interesting and fun! Even staying on the ship while at port can be an excellent choice for relaxation!

Rae

Hi Toby,

We'll be there. The family is counting down.

Mom-Jackie
Dad-William
Daughter-Jasmine (age 14)
Daughter-Brandi (age 11)
My Sister-Janine (age 26)

See you soon,
Jackie

Welcome!

We seem to be increasing our number as the date approaches - 44 days to go now and I bet you already knew that!!!!

I am due (WAY OVERDUE) to put the new list up, so I'll add your family on when it's done!

Again, welcome!

Rae

Thanks for the welcome, Rae.

We booked last year onboard the Western Cruise and yes, we are counting down.

So far, we scheduled for Capt. Marvins/Stingray City at Grand Cayman. We're still trying to decide on a excursion at Cozumel.

My children prefer to stay onboard at Key West. We rode the trolley last year but the heat was unbearable. Mention Key West and they'll scream.

We'll probably just walk around and head back to the ship. I do enjoy the days onboard.

See everyone soon,

Jackie:Pinkbounc

Jackie - we will be doing the Stingray City Tour also - we booked that and horseback riding through shoretrips.com - along with Dolphin Swim at Cozumel.

Do your children ride? It's always been a dream of mine to ride on the beach - so at 48 my fantasy will come true - unless we get diverted again!!! But what an adventure when you do get diverted!!!!!!

When Mom and I travel with my DS Michael, we don't do as much as when DH, Michael and I travel. Obviously, DH is going with us in August!!!!!!!!

I hate the heat but really want to see Key West - so I might just suffer through it!!! If I don't have a margarita at Buffet's place, my best friend will nag me forever! I think I'll skip the drink and "cheeseburger in Paradise" just get her a shirt from there!!!!

Rae

Hi Rae,

Yes, my children and I love riding but my husband will not go near a horse. On vacation in Anitigua, my husband was sitting on the horse and it tried to bite his leg several times.

You'll love riding on the beach. It's great.

In Cozumel, my oldest wants to do the ATV Jungle, Kayak & Snorkel Tour while the youngest wants the Dolphin Swim. Since there's five of us, we'll take a vote.

That margarita sounds good. If hubby and I do the Buffet thing we'll let you know.

Jackie

My husband doesn't ride either!!! If a horse tries to bite, it's been mistreated! AWFUL! With the exception of those tempermental racing stallions - they are always feisty!

Sounds like the democratic process with the voting - hope you all get what you'd enjoy!

Hello everyone,

My daughter, Jasmine (age 14) has started a thread on the Teen Disney Board.

It reads: 8/2/03 Cruise and her screen name is discruisegurl18.

Any teens interested in responding can go to this post. Jasmine has been doing this since "2000" and she has met some wonderful kids onboard that she still keeps in touch with via email.

Her sister, Brandi (age 11) is not a dis board person but she will respond via email.

This is a good way for the kids to become acquainted before boarding.

Jackie

9/14/02 - Western

Jackie - that's a great idea your daughter had - always nice to make friends and have companions during the cruise. I always say that about table mates and have gotten some really great ones over the years!

Hope you have a super day!

Rae

Speaking of table mates - if you want to hook up with someone, you need to do it soon.

If you both agree, then one needs to call DCL with the other person's name, reservation number. You do need to have the same seating (main or late) though!

Also, has everyone who wants brunch at Palo gotten on the list?
If you have any additions/deletions/changes to the main list, let me know.

Rae
