Hi All!

We are leaving (HOPEFULLY) tomorrow afternoon (yes, christmas!) to meet up with the Wonder on Thursday. We are expecting a snowstorm, so please send some pixie dust our way that the flights get out!! THANKFULLY i did plan to leave the day before..Just hope it works out!!

CANT BELIEVE IT IS FINALLY HERE!!

Sherry

Sherry,

We are leaving Saturday for the Wonder..for the Sunday 4-day. We always leave a day early during the Winter months. You should be okay...get there earlier than your flight and try to fly stand-by before the snow gets too bad. The flights should be pretty empty, so getting stand-by should be easy. They are saying the harder snow wont start until 10-11..so get to Logan as early as possible! :)

And leave the ship nice and clean for me, will ya? ;)

Hi Grimsby!

I have already been looking up American flights to see what we should go for on stand-by :-))...I am sure we will make it. I worked at the airport for 10 years, and been through many a snowstorm, but it just figures how every year i would love a white christmas, BUT NOT THIS ONE!

Anyways, you have a wonderful trip as well, we will be in WDW on NYE.

Hi Sherry... we are from the same town!! I am not flying tomorrow... but I will keep my fingers crossed for you... So far it sounds like the snow is starting later, so hopefully you will get out.... sending lots of pixie dust your way!!

Hi Sherry, I think the storm is due to hit up in our neck of the woods first (north/western Ma.) so hopefully by the time it reaches Boston you will be gone. We had a storm the night before we flew out a few weeks ago, flying in a day early is a good idea, it gives you 24 hours to get there! That was the only thing that kept my sanity. :)
Here's some extra pixie dust for you ****************

Two years ago, we made our first family trip to Disney. It snowed 9 inches the previous night, so I got up at 5 AM to snowblow the driveway, so we could leave at 7 AM for a 9AM flight out of MHT.

When we turned to get onto the turnpike, the car went straight and landed gently into a snow bank. DW jumps out of the car and pushed me back on the road and we were on our way. No injuries or damage.

By the afternoon, we were all swimming in the pool....

Lots of Pixie Dust coming your way...they are saying this storm could be huge North of the Mason Dixon Line... we always miss the good ones. Good luck and travel safely!! Have a blast!!!

Well I hope you luck out, it is 9:30am now and the snow is just light, I hope your flight is early afternoon, they say the worst will not hit until late afternoon. I bet you will just scoot by, good thoughts your way! Ann

This storm is wild...we were supposed to have rain and a dusting of snow...instead we got about 4 inches of the best snowball making snow you ever saw. There are snowmen up and down the block. I don't mind getting this storm as long as it's clear in 3 weeks for our trip. I hope everyone makes it out safely for their cruises!!

Yikes! I'm so glad we live here in Marietta. It's bone-chilling cold today... a very damp cold. But at least we don't have to deal with the snow. Good luck to all of you who are trying to escape from your snowy climes in the next few days!

It's 4:30 now and the snow is really coming down! Jay is out snow blowing as I type. He will have to do it in several shifts, we have about five inches now but the local news says expect 15-24 inches! So every few hours he will have to go out and do it again. Poor guy-glad that does not fall under one of my jobs :). Hey I am working hard on Christmas dinner. The roast just went in the oven. :)

hi from the tundra of Southern NH

We have about 20 inches of snow and today the wind is howling!

My folks arrived at Logan yesterday from Florida right around noon- their flight was actually 20 minutes early! Hopefully bemily and her family got out ok. At that hour, it was still all rain down there and about 40 degrees. The drive was wild though - rain all the way to the NH border and then BAM it was all snow.

That's absolutely amazing!

I flew from BOS to PBI one January weekend several years ago. My flight out was only three hours late (not bad considering the conditions). I was lucky to get out at all... Logan was completely shut down the entire next day. Fortunately, they had recovered by the time I had to fly back the day after that. But my flight was packed to the gills with passengers who'd had their travel plans disrupted. What fun!

We got a total of about 10-12 inches here in NY (15 miles north of NYC). It was wild yesterday....all my guests left about 6:00 pm to get on the roads which were terrible. My hubby works at the George Washington Bridge and what usually takes him 15 minutes took him 1.5 hours. He said cars were stranded all up and down the Palisades Interstate Parkway. Even though it was a bit of pain....it was just so beautiful being inside with family watching the snow pile up. First white Christmas here since 1960 something. The kids and I shoveled a few times last night to keep up with it.

When hubby came home from work this morning he shoveled where the plow blocked the bottom of the drive and threw his back out. He can't get out of bed now.....we leave a week from tomorrow. I sure hope his back gets better by then.

Send pixie dust!!!

We lived on a bus route when we lived in Iowa, so the snow plows made many, many passes in front of our house. We hated to see them coming after a while since they always left a new deposit of heavy snow boulders at the end of the driveway. I certainly hope your DH recovers in time to enjoy your cruise.

Please send us some snow in Iowa!!! We own a small video store and could use the business as its a warm week for xmas vacation for the kids and busines is slow.

Sending you lots of pixie dust!!!!

We just got off the Wonder last Sunday. If you happen to see servers named-Sveto and Arpad could you please please tell them to email the Strait family!!!! They were from Hungary and Yugoslavia. They took our email address down but we forgot to get theirs and my kids are wanting to email them desperately.

Hope you have a wonderful trip, I know you'll make it!!!
