Who's done the "Keys to the Kingdom" tour?

Did this last Sept and it was fantastic. It is a lot of standing so be prepared for that. It was a crappy rainy day so it was a little hard logistically to stay out of the drizzle but we learned so much and had a great time. CCH is lunch and as usual, very good. Make sure to bring water with you as they do not stop other than lunch and a quick potty break. You get a commemorative pin as well for taking the tour (at least we did). Well worth the $$ and the guides were great.

We did it a few years back. We knew a lot of the info already but still loved it and can't wait until my son is old enough to experience it with us.

Feeling encouraged that most people seemed to have liked it overall. Of course there's going to be trivia info. that all good Disneyphiles will already know - I expect some of that. DH just really wants to see behind the scenes so I'm feeling better about justifying the cost since most everybody here has said it's worth it. And now that it seems pretty for sure that we'll be eating at CHH I will steer clear of of that on some of our other MK CS meals since I know we'll be going during this tour. We usually eat there at least once so that's cool.

We did this February 2014 - my Husband, DD 24 and DS 17. We all enjoyed it!

We are looking forward to this when we go in December. DGF worked at MK during the college program, so I would love to see the backstage areas that she has mentioned, like the utilidors.

I've been on it twice......good tour. A lot depends on the guide. But I would do it again

We have been on several different tours and the guide(s) makes or breaks the experience. On the Christmas tour one year we spent most of the time trying to find the 2nd half of the tour group.

Great tour! Lunch was at Columbia Harbor House. Still have the key pin.

Amazed (not really) at how pricey it's gotten. Back when we did it the price was about $30.....

We did this back in 2008. Our guide was laughably bad. Our particular favorite was when he pointed out that the Sleepy Hollow snack stand was modeled after the birthplace of the author of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow".........

Ernest Hemingway.

I'm still scarred from seeing woody remove his head backstage lol

I learned lots of new things on the tour....not just usual trivia that you may already know. Highly recommended! Have fun!

Gave this to DH this morning for Father's Day. I printed out the page from the website and stuck it inside an old MK map. He seems psyched - he started to do some research on it then decided to stop 'cuz he didn't want any spoilers. Crossing my fingers we get a good guide. I told him it sounded like when you do the Jungle Cruise - a good boat driver with lots of personality means the world on that one too!!

I just realized I don't have a receipt or a confirmation # or anything for it tho. Hummm. Surely I wrote it down somewhere….

Oh that is too much! Did anyone call him out on it? Your experience notwithstanding, the general consensus on the Dis is that the tours are excellent and very enjoyable. I'll put in a pitch for "Marceline To Magic Kingdom" tour--especially for the behind-the-scenes at HM. :earsboy:

o_O :sad2: Did he really say that?
We took it in 2009, and really enjoyed it. A lot of questions, which we really loved, as good disneyphiles---kind of a "how well do you know WDW". Enjoyed getting the stickers for correct answers too. Our guide was Claire, and she was good and professional and full of information. (most of which I already had read, but really enjoyed anyway.) Other stuff pointed out was stuff I had noticed myself, like the names on the windows and who they were, the piano lessons and voice lessons, the lightning rods, etc. I had waited for years for my daughter to be old enough for that tour so we could see/go in the Utilidors. We took the Backstage Magic tour in 2010, and it was not as good by a far shot. And at the price ($250 plus tax), not worth it. Took several other too, but Keys to the Kingdom and the Segway Tour they used to have at Epcot were the best! (When my daughter was young, I would point to the lighting rods on Runaway Train aka Big Thunder Mountain and tell her it was where some big-horned sheep had been, but it ran away.:))

We went on this tour this past Saturday (6/20/15) and absolutely loved it. Our guide was Elle and she was great. She was very informative and you could tell she really had a love for all things Disney. We had lunch at the Columbia Harbor House and rode Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion during the tour. We highly recommend this tour for anyone interested.

Great tour. My one complaint was that it was a very hot June day when I did it and the CM leading the tour was not good about making sure we were in the shade while he was doing sometimes lengthy explanations. Hopefully my experience is not the norm.

The CM follows a script and with the exception of sever weather do not vary, it may seem all ad lived but that's just good acting. Pretty sure the CM would love the shade as much as you.

Yup, we have :). This, and the far larger "Backstage Magic". KTTK is about a half day, and worth every penny :). "Backstage" will eat up most of a day - and is worth every penny :).
