Who's buying The Beatles Rockband 09/09/09?

Picked the game up today and have been playing for the last couple of hours. It's fantastic and more, I love it!!!

Seems like they've also adjusted the difficulty to make it a little easier, as I was having no issues playing most songs on the drums on expert...... Until I got to "Good Morning, Good Morning". Now thats gonna need some work.
(Disclaimer - I'm a drummer, so YMMV) :)

Yes, he had a son with his second wife. I never it it to very close to his death. I read a story that Patti (the first wife) as much as they tired could not have children. He always took the blame (although I don't beleive in blame -- words I read, not my thoughts on the subject) anyway he very easily fathered a child with the second wife.

As a side note, has anyone ready the book by Patti Harrison? Very good read if you should come across it.

Yes, that would be an interesting read for sure. I will look for the book, thanks.

I haven't read the book, but I've wondered how it feels to be the woman who inspired such memorable songs as "Something" and "Layla".

Must be a nice feeling.

Can you imagine??

Can you pretty please see if this will work with the Guitar Hero guitar??

Have fun!

I read Patti's book and last year I met her when I attended an event where she spoke. She seems as sweet as the day is long, and she's still looks great.
My impression is that she made some very poor decisions (mostly the way she was attracted to men who treated her poorly).

Anyway....waiting for the FedEx truck with my Beatles stuff.:)

My dad bought it for my mom as an anniversary present! My mom is a monster Beatles fan - she saw them in concert once, she still has all of her old records (some of them have little hearts next to their names that she and my aunt added), she also stayed in movie theaters to watch A Hard Day's Night and Help all day long.

She even has pictures that her friend's father took of the TV screen when they were on Ed Sullivan (oh, the days before YouTube!) - her friend sold them at school for $.25 apiece! And she plays guitar, and she taught me (what else?) Beatles songs on the guitar too.

Last year we even went took a Beatles tour in Liverpool. That was really cool. We got to see the Casbah Club, where they first played in when they were the Quarrymen - it's actually Pete Best's basement. It still has all the stuff they painted on the walls, and where John carved his name into one wall (and never finished it because Pete's mom flipped when she caught him!).

So of course, I'm totally converted - I love The Beatles! A Hard Day's Night is one of my favorite movies. I watched it twice on VH1 this weekend and I quote it endlessly. I can't wait to play the game and get the remasters too.

It's sitting in my desk drawer! Now to find a way to casually sneak out of work...

The Beatles are just an easy band to play. Nothing really that technical about what they do. If you want some technical music pick up the Mayhem pack for RB2.

It did get a little more difficult after my last post. Have a new appreciation for Ringo, as there is some more complex stuff going on in the latter songs.

Unfortunately RB2 has not been released in Australia as of this time, and I now doubt that it will be. I'll probably end up importing from the UK as the regions are the same.

Haven't tried it with our GH guitars yet, but I know that the GH hardware does work with the Rockband games and I wouldn't expect the Beatles game to be any different.

I finished the story mode last night and it was a great experience. There's a bonus "encore" song that you unlock once you complete the story mode that is just great. Now I just need to go back and redo the half dozen or so songs that I need to get 5 stars on, and additionally complete the unlocked challenges.

...Then do it all again on guitar. :)

One of the interesting aspects of the music of the Beatles is that it is deceptively simple. Once you start to take it apart and try to recreate it their genius only becomes more obvious.:)

Do you recall the title of the book? I tried searching on Amazon but couldn't find it by author name. It sounds like one I'd love to read.

Oh, and our limited edition set is hidden in the trunk as we speak. ;)

Wonderful Tonight: George Harrison, Eric Clapton, and Me.

I was reading a review of the game today and it said that the three part harmony was quite difficult to recreate. I can't remember it all now, but I believe the review said that this is the first game of that type to come with three microphones (three USB ports for them).

I've never played Guitar Hero or Rockband so I don't know. I'd love to play this, but I don't have any gaming system, and even if I did I would not have anyone who'd be interested to play with me

The Fest for Beatles Fans, perhaps?:) I've attended the one (formerly known as Beatlefest) in New Jersey quite a few times. My youngest daughter was 6 years old the first time I took her along with me and my older daughter. My kids have all been young Beatles fans. I believe Patti was at the New Jersey fest, I think last March? My favorite part of Beatlefest is listening to the guest speakers. There have been many wonderful guests over the years.

I remember talking with Louise Harrison, George's sister, quite a few years ago. She was very gracious. I still have the candy bar wrapper she autographed for me.:)

I am so jealous that your mom got to attend a Beatles concert! I was eight years old when they first came to America, too young to attend a concert. I do have many of their original albums, and I have boxes of Beatles magazines and magazines with articles about the Beatles, Beatlefan and Daytripper magazines, well over a hundred Beatles books, all of their music on CDs, every one of Ringo's albums, all of their movies, and many, many VHS tapes and DVDs. And I keep adding to the collection every time a new book or DVD comes out. I'm always on the lookout for new and interesting information on the Beatles!:)

Your trip to Liverpool must have been great!:yay: We're planning a trip to England next summer, and Liverpool will definitely be a part of that trip!!!

Ah, Ringo. I hope more people develop an appreciation for Ringo and all that he contributed to the Beatles. He was/is an excellent drummer and was PERFECT for the Beatles, as a drummer and as a person. He was the heart of the Beatles and the last piece to complete the puzzle. The Beatles would not be the Beatles without Ringo.:)

I said in an earlier post that I was looking forward to the remastered CDs, and not so much the RockBand. Well, guess who has the Beatles Rockband set up in their family room tonight?!?!?:rotfl: DD19 and I went to Best Buy to get the CDs and they had the Beatles Rockband set up. We walked over to check it out, and a Best Buy employee urged us to try it out. He asked me if I wanted to sing or play an instrument, and I said neither! Not in public anyway. My daughter gamely strapped on the guitar and the employee sat at the drums, and they played their way through Day Tripper. I was amazed watching the animation of the Beatles and listening to the music, and I was hooked. My daughter loved it, too. Sold!!!:rotfl:

Ringo is one of my big influences in my drumming. There are 3 actually:
1. Ringo
2. Charlie Watts
3. Keith Moon

Very cool! Did you get it on 360?

Luvflorida Yes it was Beatlefest(I still call it that). I attended the Chicago show for more than 25 years, and Vegas the past two years(where I met Patti). I met so many interesting people there over the years it's incredible(not the least of which was Harry Nilsson).

Moon--If you don't have a gaming system consider getting a Play Station 3. I bought one last year for the sole purpose of playing Blu-Ray discs. I had
no intention of playing video games. It's a great Blu-Ray player and now I can use it for Rock Band. Dunno that I'll ever be any good at it, I just wanted to have it as part of my collection.:)

Hmmm, not sure why it double posted.
