I've been to Vegas dozens of times and actually lived out there in the early 90's. .

Haven't been out since '97, but I can say that Bally's and Caesar's have the best buffet's, but it'll cost you. . . for budget buffet's that are good get off the strip and try one of the "Station" casinos; Palace Station or Boulder Station.
The best all-around places I've stayed are the Golden Nugget, the Mirage, and the Rio. . . the Rio is a great place, but off the strip a little. .
If you want a budget room in a great location, try Harrah's. . the rooms are just average, but the service is great and the location can't be beat. .
As far as shows. . Lance Burton is great; and so is Danny Gans. . Siegfried and Roy are good, but way over priced. .
Good luck with your trip planning!! Not sure when I'll get back out but I think I'd like to give Mandalay Bay a try. .
