Who's at MK at 2 am?????

We're doing an adults-only mini-vacation while in Florida next month. We can't wait to take advantage of the very late EMH at Epcot (9-mid) and MK (11-2am) while we are there.

My question is: Will we be alone??? I can't believe it stays crowded during those super late hours. We have done E-ticket nights (remember those??) and found ourselves all alone near the end of the night.

I'd love to hear from some other die-hards who do the parks until the lights go out! TIA!

We were there on our last night in the beginning of June. The park starts to clear out after the 11pm Spectromagic and toward the end we were walking onto almost all of the rides. It was also better on the bus trip back to POFQ -- everyone had a seat!

We really liked the late EMH even with our DDs (5 and 8) -- not a lot of people and the sun isn't baking you! I know people stress getting to the parks early, but DH and DDs are NOT morning people and staying late at the parks worked so much better for us.

We will be there in 2 weeks and plan on doing both the MK and Epcot evening EMH's.

We stayed at MK until the end of EMH once. It was until 1am. The park was more crowded than you would think(for 1am) but you could walk on just about everything. Most people with small kids had already left the park. THe longest line was the teacups and I think it was a 10 minute wait. My DD's were 5 and 8, we had taken a nap and returned to the park after dinner, around 6. ALOT of people were walking out as we were walking in. We rode Buzz so much that my dd8(who was obsessed with toy story)asked to do something else!!

We stayed over Memorial Day weekend and we were there at 2am, lol. At 11pm the attractions were still very crowded. By 12:30 we had a short wait. By 1am we could almost just walk on the rides. By 1:30, we were permitted to stay on Buzz Lightyear without having to get off to get back in line.

We stayed til closing at 2am two summers ago, during the old e-nights. It had poured at around 8, so the park was EMPTY from then on. We walked right on everything, rode things multiple times without getting off, and got lots of pictures with characters, it was awesome. We have a picture of ourselves next to the big clock on Main street, it says 2:00, and there is no one in sight behind us anywhere. It was very cool walking down Main Street to leave and being the only ones there. Wish it would happen more often!!

My son and I went until 3 am this January. There were quite a few people there until about 2 and then it began clearing out. We never got onto Space Mountain or Peter Pan, the lines were too long.

I'm a park jockey - I'm there first thing in the morning, run around non-stop all day, and leave last thing at night. But, I avoid Magic Hours like the plague. It's no fun.

I didn't do the MK EMH, but on my departure morning, I had to catch the bus for the airport around 4am. I was down waiting by 3am. As I waited, around 3:15, buses started coming in. With in 15 mins, 5 buses had rolled in. FULL! STANDING ROOM FULL , by the time my bus for the airpor rolled out, 3 more came in, again, FULL. So either POP was the only one with the late nighters, or MK was very busy (this would of been on a Sunday night, since my departure was early monday morning). This was back in March.

And yes, I was shocked...there were quite a few young children being carried off, some asleep, some bawling like crazy wonder why.

I don't think you'll be alone. I also don't think it will be packed. We stayed late last week for the 11:00 pm Spectro parade and were surprised at the amount of people there.

I agree, however my DS7 last year stayed til 2am - he was fine the entire time, and wok up in a GREAT MOOD!

We (DH DSs 10 and 6) were there from June 8 through 17 and stayed for 2 late night EMH at MK until 2 a.m. Like other posters have said, much of the crowd left after the 11 p.m. SpectroMagic parade. However, we were not able to walk onto rides until the last hour. We did not have terribly long waits after 11, but the best time was the 1 to 2 a.m. hour. We walked right onto the teacups, Buzz, Pooh, Astro Orbiter, and Snow White during that time. We noticed that the Space Mountain line was long the entire time, because there are no FPs during EMH. We also waited about 15 minutes for Peter Pan.

The first time, we were staying at Pop, and yes, the buses were extremely crowded. We had to stand. The second time, we were staying at BCV, and it also was packed, but we were fortunate enough to get seats.

We enjoyed the late night EMHs better than the morning EMH. (DSs and I are "night owls", so it worked perfectly for us. DH tolerated it. ). There's something really neat about riding all of those attractions at night, especially Haunted Mansion and Astro Orbiters. The view of Main Street all lit up was awesome from Astro Orbiters. Also, the temperatures are better at night.

We were there at 2:00 am a couple of weeks ago and I was surprised at the number of little children in strollers too. However, the lines weren't that long so it was worth it.

We were there the first week in June - the EMH's didn't go so late (till 3 am) but they were until 1 (maybe one night was 2?) - we were up late! It was much cooler and our girls were fine (they are 9 and 6) - granted my 6 yo fell asleep on the bus each night, it was still worth it by far. The only problem was that we couldn't get them to wake up in the morning for the EMH's. They were dead to the world - I'm no early bird, but when we are on vacation and there's coffee - I can make myself get up and moving. They haven't discovered coffee yet so they kept sleeping.

We would turn on the 7 Must Do's channel with Stacy - that seemed to get them moving! Mornings were much harder to get anywhere on time. But an hour earlier in the morning vs 3 hours more at night? There's no comparison. We loved the late nights! I am a night owl though as well as my dh and 9 yo (if I let her stay up!) - my 6 yo is an early to bed kinda gal - 9:30 is late for her - she's always asleep 10 minutes into any movie at home if it doesn't start at 8 o'clock.

I do agree that the toddlers needed to be sleeping - but if they were in the stroller, they were fine!

I read post after post of people who skip the nighttime EMH's - and I can't fathom why! Those were truly our best times there. No hot sun beating down on you, no need for slimy sunscreen, etc. The mood at night is just completely different. And the later you can hang - the less people you have to contend with. It's like those old contests where you hang on to the car for the longest and the last person hanging on wins - LOL - the longer you can keep going at WDW late, the more people you pass who have given up and are headed home.

It depends on when you are there. With it being summer, the crowds are bigger. We were there in June and the parks just did not clear out very fast at all. For EMH we just couldn't do much of anything. You will probably have to wait until the last hour like a previous poster said to really be able to take advantage.

Now when we were there earlier in the year during a less busy time, we had no trouble at all walking onto the rides. We took a nap during the day with our children and started again after dinner. They easily lasted until park closing. It was actually a great memory with them. They were troopers.

We were there! The kids in our family are total night owls (and Disney freaks), so we get some funny looks, cause we we're all going strong at 2a.m.! Even though are kids are far from cranky - they're the ones yelling, "Let's hit Splash one more time!" It's almost funny how some people will prejudge us. We just laugh it off.

Generally, we feel like there is a bit of a different crowd out late at night at WDW. A lot of the people there at night are actually moving faster than the daytime crowds - they know they've only got a few more hours to hit everything...Some of the teenagers are not as careful about their use of appropriate language. You also get a few of the senior-aged diehards that ride Space Mountain ten times in a row! Once we saw the cutest couple, they had personalized Space Mountain jackets with blinking LED lights and everything. They were awesome!

But if you're family isn't up for those late hours, don't push it. Overtired and Disney is not a good combo for anyone.
