Whole Milk

We are taking our 14 month granddaughter on the 11 night Fantasy cruise. She drinks whole milk -- any suggestions on where to best get it on the cruise? How to handle it for day long excursions?

Check with your GD’s parents - or ask them to speak with her pediatrician. Chances are the PED will say any milk is fine for s week’s vacation (doesn’t have to be whole) and even water at lunch one or two days is ok. At that age my DD was tiny and underweight due to medical issues as a newborn, but her PED said family vacation time is just as important and a week of modified milk intake wasn’t going to have any lasting health consequences.

Enjoy your vacation!

I agree with @lanejudy. Check with the child's ped. It doesn't matter whether we all think milk is a must-have or not at all. What matters is what the doctor thinks, the parents are comfortable with and what the child will drink.

As I said, my kids, at 2 wouldn't touch milk less than whole milk . They didn't like the "watered down" taste. Now, at 14 and 16, they won't drink any milk but 1% for the same reason. Taste.

What the toddler will drink may well be the deciding factor.

As a mom who has sailed with infants I can confirm that whole milk is available on the ships and Daisy Delites has the whole milk cartons that we would take off the ships into ports. Room service can bring you warm milk too.

To avoid misinformation being spread on this page. You DO NOT need to open containers for droplet testing. You can,if you choose, to avoid extra security. But it is your right to refuse testing of breast milk etc and TSA will do a different type of security measure. As someone who pumped and traveled a lot with pumped milk for business trips I would never expose my milk to contamination and risk of hurting my child by opening it up in an disease infested airport.

It is important to read the information on the TSA website and print it Incase you come across an ignorant agent.
