...has obviously never had our room before:

Funny thing; I kept meaning to make a room request with MS. Just never remembered to tell them despite several recent calls to add DDP, etc. All I would have asked for was a top floor villa. Ultimately I decided to just see what fate would deal us. I may never make a room request ever again. When we checked in around 1:30 today, I just asked what floor we were on - CM told me 5th and then proceeded to show me on the map. She added, "ooooohhh, you got a really great room." In addition to the great view, we are on a corner and it is the hugest 1 BR unit I've ever seen - at any DVC resort. I seriously could just move in here. I don't know a whole lot about VWL, but I'm guessing this a pretty sought after room. And if the room itself wasn't enough, we had, 3, count them, yes 3, towel animals?

We certainly had more than our share of pixie dust today :)

You are easy to please from a view standpoint, you'd fit into the test of the timeshare world nicely. For some resorts and units that would qualify as an OF unit had that slice of water in the distance had salt in it.

I think we had that same room in Sept - it was fabulous! It will be hard to go to a regular villa the next time we visit VWL!

Agree. Lots of woods in that photo.

We had that room once, we loved it! We really liked the different floorplan and relaxing out on that balcony each night. Thanks for sharing!

I would enjoy that view - a little of everything; woods, pool, lake, main lodge. Ok, a lot of woods, but I like woods!

Sure beats the view from my OKW room (with its lovely view of Overpass Rd) by a ways. But even that one had a silver lining: we could watch the high IllumiNations fireworks from our room.

I've never stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and that view would satisfy me no problem!!

So what room are you in?? We're going there in May & would to put in some room requests! Thanks!

I'd be just as happy with this view as I would a direct Bay Lake View at BLT. I'd probably prefer it to a parking lot view at BLT - oh, er, I mean theme park view. Pictures don't do it justice. It's really breathtaking and yes, a little bit of everything. If you walked into this room and saw the layout and view and it didn't wow you, well, then you would be the sort of person who simply can't be pleased. Now if I paid extra for a water view, that would be different. But when I know I could have just as easily been staring at a dumpster for the same points, I'm going to just appreciate my good fortune, thank you very much.

I'll share the room number after we check out later this week.

If you ask for an atrium view room, you MAY end up with one of the larger rooms but it may be on the pther side of the lobby with no lake view. I just like a lobby view room with little walking to get back to your room.

Yes, a very nice view. . .had a similar one for a 2BR years ago. I suppose if one prefers asphalt, roadways, or parking lots, it's not very good. ;) I like woods; I like serenity; I like being steps away from a nature trail that easily doubles as a running path. I hope to return to that room area in future visits. :thumbsup2

If anyone was interested, the room # was 5519. Checked out yesterday. Drove home from the airport last night in the snow : (

Thanks for the info! Hope you had a nice vacation!

It was fabulous. Couldn't ask for nicer weather - low 80's and sunny every day. Crowds weren't nearly as bad as I thought they would be for spring break. The night before we left, we took the boat over to MK around 10PM and walked right on several rides we missed a few days prior. Finished up with a 20 minute wait for Space Mountain and hopped back on the boat to WL. We just loved VWL and hope we can stay there again soon!

That's a great view, I wish they would harvest a few (just a select few) trees so that some of the other rooms had a view of the lake.

Hi - I am a potential new owner so forgive me... there are "larger" rooms at VWL? Can someone please explain? Thanks!

I don't know if any of the atrium rooms are actually larger in terms of square feet (I'm guessing someone has dimensions for all the rooms and will correct me if I'm wrong ;)), but there are a few rooms that are what I call corner rooms, meaning they don't lie along the Villas hallway but are just off the elevators. I had one these rooms a few years back, similar to quirty30's only a 2BR, and it did feel more expansive, overlooked the pool, and had another balcony in the second bedroom. In essence, that room looked two ways--one toward the pool and the main lodge and one toward the trees and lake. It was truly delightful. Though I owned at SSR for a few years, I always stayed at VWL, and now we own at the Villas. Love it there. :thumbsup2
