Dson-in-law's uncle and his wife (she's originally from Greece) were just on a talk radio show discussing how she came here as a mail order bride (so to speak) and they married only 8 days after she arrived in the United States!! 
(That was many, many years ago - I think they're both in their early to mid 70's now..)
We only caught the last portion of it (I was aware that she had been a mail order bride) - but I never knew she had only been in this country for 8 days prior to them getting married! It was interesting listening to them on the radio - explaining the whole process - and what their lives have been like since then..
DD's MIL called to alert us - and from what I understand, they had been on the air for quite some time by that point..
Certainly sounded strange hearing their voices coming through the radio; talking about MIL's entire family and such..
