Whoa..Annual Pass Increase - Effective 10/4/15

I don't think anyone ever has said price increase yay! However, the idea that Disney is supposed to care about pricing people out is silly. Disney has always priced people out. It is a privilege and luxury to go to Disneyland. There are countless people, millions, who will never set foot in Disneyland because the price has always been and will always be too much. The ugly part of this debate is most people are okay and actually prefer those people not go to Disneyland. Much of the anger at these price increases is people who thought they were better than and are now finding out they are part of the undesirable class.

I'm not happy the price went up but like every year we will discuss where we want to spend that money. It maybe renewing our passes as we did this year or it might be something else.

Would someone be willing to post the link to the information about parking on the premium pass? What I read led me to believe that parking would be included in the new premium pass, even if you were renewing. So, I'm confused now.

Thanks :)

There will no longer be a Premium Pass. The equivalent is a Signature Pass, however, there are two tiers of Signature - Signature and Signature Plus. Both have parking included. The only difference is that Signature Plus has NO blackout dates and Signature blocks out December 19-January 2.

You cannot renew a Premium Pass, nor can you buy a new one. When you renew, you will have these two options mentioned above that include parking.

There is not more DVC discount for the Deluxe pass, so those went up $70 for us (so a minimum of $280 increase for the 4 of us if we all got deluxe AP's). Previously we bought one at the higher level pass I can't remember the name now . . premium? premier? too many names) for the higher discounts, and those went up a ton, plus I already purchased our PP+ for our trip. That inclusion would be a big bonus for us because we buy one every trip, but what to do when I already have one?:confused3 I called and asked about the DVC discount and the PP+ and was told that I could go to the ticket booth with my PP+ voucher and the CM "might" put that purchase amount toward my signature AP. I would love to know if anyone has success with that.

I was also told that the only way to get the DVC $20 discount on the signature pass is to go to the ticket booth. Can anyone confirm that?

We have our trip booked--our first DVC trip--in November for 6 days, so planned on getting AP's already. Not willing to give up a Disney day, so I guess we are stuck paying the new AP prices. Frustrating.

Grocery stores will need the rep to come in and remove the passes and take them out of the system. That will take longer. As for the DIsney store, last time they lasted 2-3 days.
I called our Disney store yesterday and they said they are required to destroy all old merchandise when the new prices come through.

When I bought our current APs, they were $499, right before they went up $20. Then they went up another $30. And now, another $50. So the next time we by APs, assuming they don't go up again in the next few months, it'll cost my family $500 more than last time. That's a 20% increase. So let's see. Inflation is up about 3%. My wages went up 3%. Hotels around DL will go up about 5%......Tickets up 20%.

So either my future DL trips will only consist of 5 day passes every two years or so, or I'll be going to Six Flags A LOT. Probably the latter.

I make a decent wage - under six figures, but still decent. But I can't just keep giving Disney more and more of my cash. Going up by 5%? That's within reason. Up 10%? Stretching, but still within the realm of reality. Up 20%? Time to vacation elsewhere. Just glad we did our AP year when we did. It's been fun Disney, but you've become too high maintenance. After November, I think we need some time apart.

As of yesterday, they hadn't been told. The manager here said they usually are notified about 3-5 days after.

At the local grocery stores/drug/department stores, the rep actually has to come in, remove the stock and change the store pricing. It takes 2 weeks longer usually. I'm just saying if someone wants it at the old price, it can be done for a few more days.

We have 4 trips planned before our passes expire- I would love to be able to upgrade mine to include the Photopass!

I wish we had that option here in WA . . . and apparently by Sunday afternoon, our local Disney store had removed all existing vouchers for the passes.

Will PhotoPass will be included on an existing Premier Passport (for both DL and WDW)?

An existing Premier Pass will not have Photopass. If and when you renew, then you will get Photopass associated with the Premier Pass.

Hey, this is how you helped me out last May! We were able to save $100 by going to the local grocery store and getting them at the then $499 price. I'd go down there and do it again right now if I thought they wouldn't expire at the end of this year. If they had a long expiration date, I might be tempted.

There have been a few mentions in this thread that the expiration dates on them are Dec. 2016. (Not a typo...2016), so might be worth it for ya!

I haven't been to Safeway yet, but if they still have them, it would be an expiration date of 12/31/16.

Using your new PhotoPass benefit
While some have scoffed at the addition of free PhotoPass digital downloads as a new benefit included with the priciest Disneyland annual passes, a source tells us this particular feature is often requested in passholder surveys. If you are already hold a Premier annual pass (valid at Disneyland and Walt Disney World), or have just purchased a new Signature or Signature Plus pass, you now have access to this new benefit.

That's right—existing Premier passholders have access to this new benefit today, without waiting to renew. Better yet, it appears the benefit extends to PhotoPass photos taken before the benefit became effective on October 4. We've been able to successfully link PhotoPass cards and download photos taken at Disneyland as far back as July 17, 2015, as well as download images and ride photos captured on Sunday, October 4."

Should I be able to upgrade my Premium Pass for a Signature? I would really like to have Photopass for all my upcoming trips, without having to pay for it each time!

Thanks. On the WDW board, they're giving a different answer: http://www.disboards.com/threads/fyi-for-premier-passport-holders-the-pass-for-wdw-dl.3452933/

I can see my pictures from June 2015 on the WDW app, but the DL app doesn't allow you to link Premier Passes. I have a week before I need to buy PhotoPass, so I guess I'll see how this plays out.
