I have to say the way Ari explained that about starting a relationship with Ricki is spot on. That's exactly how things started with me and my stepmom (I was 10), and I have never once ever had that "stepmom" feelings towards her. The only time I mention she is my stepmom is when someone raises an eyebrow because there's only 13 years between us.She's my mom, through and through.
As for him never mentioning Rickie, who knows. We all know how the editors love to swing things certain ways. Maybe Ari was the one they chose to make us wonder why him? I think there is more to him then we are seeing. Emily is a smart lady and if she felt Ari had misgivings about Ricki she would have sent him packing long ago, horny or not.

I don't know how many here have ever gone through this situation (and I mean at an early age). In my opinion, you have to build that foundation first. You can't just go in with such an authoritative position because it will just cause that whole "You're not my father" attitude. I guess that's why I feel he had it right in that respect.
