Our prayers are with you, and your sister.
Hi Everyone,
Sorry I have been MIA for a while. My dear sister passed away in March and I have been pretty "offline" since. I am venturing back into the land of the living and my first stop is here, of course!
My DS and I will be there on 8/5. Have we decided on a time? He is turning 21 on 6/22 but is spending his summer in California on an internship. So this will be our first time having a drink together and the first day I will see him in quite a while. Lots to celebrate! No better place than the happiest place on earth!![]()

So, SO sorry about the loss of your sister! But glad to see you're back. I have been thinking about fightinillini229 and wondering how his internship is going so far? Did he enjoy DL?
Southern California is beautiful!! It will be difficult to return to the humidity of the midwest once the summer is over. Going straight from the dry heat and Santa Ana breezes of SoCal to the sticky heat of Orlando is going to be a little rough come August.
We didn't end up getting the chance to head up to DL last weekend. Unfortunately, with ticket prices for 2 days at $170 and 1 day tickets at $87, it's not looking likely that we will be heading to Anaheim anytime soon. Not hopeful for any kind of ticket specials either, with it being DL high season and Cars Land opening in a couple weeks. Most of the interns would rather take that money and head to Vegas for a weekend, and with a WDW trip approaching in August for me, it's hard for me to argue with them! (especially when WDW is on the parent's money, right McDomzal?)
And you're not kidding about the prices at DL! I have looked into it a bunch of times, and each time I price it out, it works out so much more expensive than WDW, that I just keep saying "forget it."
Ok Poly peeps, we have added 2 more nights to our trip in August..now we are there from 8-12 t0 8-25.
The 2 extra nights was a gift from DW, truthfully, she really wanted the 2 extra nights but she pushed it off as a gift to me which is being paid for with her own personal stash shes been hiding (saving).
So, we have requested Aotearoa or Samoa...BUT has anyone stayed in the Fiji Marina side ? If so, did you like it ?
thanks
A little Disney magic was dropped on my day yesterday.
My boss will be taking a week and a half vacation starting next Wednesday, and she told me I could take a couple days off as well. In addition, I found out that I could get a single day ticket for $75 through my company. Still a chunk of money, but it will be a while before I have the opportunity to go to DL again. So I plan on heading up to Anaheim a week from Tuesday! I'm hoping that the crowds won't be too terrible as it's still pretty early in the season and I'll be there on a Tuesday. I'll be touring alone, but it's hard to be any level of depressed in the happiest place on Earth!
I look forward to meeting you and the rest of your family at Tambu in August as well!
We'll be at WDW from 8/27-9/1, but we are staying at ASMovies from 8/27-8/31, and the Poly CL 8/31-9/1 (a little anniversary present to ourselves). We'll also be renting the cabana from 10 am-2 pm on Saturday, 9/1. It'll be our first time staying at the Poly

What a sweet gift from your DW! Wish I had thought of that as a gift to DH for our anniversary! (We are celebrating 22 years today!)I changed your arrival date in post #2.
We LOVE Samoa, but have never stayed in Fiji. The pics I have seen of views from the marina side look gorgeous and I requested it as our second choice last trip, after Samoa. Fiji is just a little further from the pool, bus stop and TTC than Samoa, because you have to walk around the marina to get there. It's really not a big deal, the marina is not so big!
Thanks !!! Happy anniversary to you also. !!!
We have stayed in Samoa in 2007, Volcano pool view. It was outstanding...BUT one thing I do remember was the HOT HOT HOT afternoon sun always hitting our balcony when we were just "chillin" and having a few beers and people watching in the afternoon and / or before dinner.
I think im right on this....BUT if we are on the Fiji Marina side, will we have afternoon shade on our balcony. ?
Thanks
BUT if we are on the Fiji Marina side, will we have afternoon shade on our balcony. ?
Thanks
...we will be arriving at our family's happy place. One night at ASM, then it's a week at The Poly!
Just can't wait![]()
I can't believe how quickly time is passing. 9 weeks from today I will be at the Poly.
