I don't remember if I've seen a thread on here discussing DJs. I'd love to hear about who yours was and how things went. :goodvibes

Hey Cam, just wanted to chime in here. I have been keeping up with your journal and things are going great. I am still sorting through hundred of photos and things but I promise I will get things up and tell all about our wedding.

Now, as far as our DJ went - we had requested DJ Scooter - thanks to Misty's recommendation. He was wonderful. We spoke a few times before the wedding and he really did just what we wanted. Not sure what he played during the pre-reception - can't wait to get our video from Stan to hear this. He gave us recommendations for us waling into the reception, he did not play the music too loud (something we always hate at weddings) he played what we wanted - took alot of requests - really got everyone up dancing. Gave out blow up instruments to the kids and adults - played some music from Cars for the two little boys at the reception - took a request from Sheldon to play a David Cassidy song for me (we had just seen him perform in Epcot). We got alot of complements about him from our guests after the wedding.

Looking forward to reading more from you.
Linda

We had DJ Charles Miles. He was awesome, got everyone involved & played fun music. He was able to read our guests & get to know what kind of music he should play.

It is so great to hear that everyone liked their DJs. Kendra, we have DJ Chuck, too, and I am really so happy to hear that you liked him. What is the "A List for Wesh 2" (sorry I am so clueless. ;) ).

Anyone else want to share who they had and how things went? This thread would be great for brides like me who haven't done their research on DJs and want to have some idea of what to expect once they find out who theirs is. :goodvibes

I don't remember who my DJ was. All he really did was play background music during the dinner and cake. (We didn't do dancing.) He didn't even introduce us. He fed the lines to my nephew, and my nephew did it. He told me that it was one of the easiest weddings he had worked.

Wesh 2 is a local news station in Orlando. They did a "best of" contest and he was one of the DJ's chosen for the list!

Kendra - That is so cool! Howard and I are really lucky to have him doing our reception! :goodvibes Thank you for the explanation.

Another great review for DJ Scooter...he was awesome :thumbsup2 !! We gave him a list of the songs we wanted (or didn't want), and he took care of everything. He was really fun and got the crowd dancing, but wasn't annoying or cheesy about it.

The highlight was how he introduced our "surprise guest (Mickey Mouse). He got on the mic and said..."Well, some of you have complained that I haven't been doing a very good job as your DJ, so I decided to bring in some reinforcements..." Then he started playing the M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E song, and everyone went nuts when they saw who walked in!

We had Steve too and he was wonderful! Did everything we asked and our dancefloor was never empty! We loved him!!

Same here. I gave him a list of songs that I wanted him to play. When the list was almost done, he came over to me to let me know and asked if it was ok to play some other songs. I think he got a feel for what I liked because I loved everything that he played.
