Who was there Christmas Day?

We're watching the tv special, and... man, we are all so ready to go back. The kids are loving seeing the places we saw on tv. I do wish they showed more of the parade though.

But just curious who is there today, who saw the show and parade? How crowded was it trying to walk through the park?

My DD is a CM she said the park began "leveled/tiered" closing two hours after MK opened today - it's a busy one!

My sister and nieces are at WDW right now. (I'd be jealous but DD and I went in early November and were there when they taped the parade!). My sister says it is CROWDED, but they are OK as they are AP holders and have been to Disney dozens of times. She said they are having a blast but she's glad this isn't the "trip of a lifetime" for her family, as it's packed and lines are long. Touringplans.com shows MK, DHS, and Epcot with crowd levels at 10 of 10 pretty much all week, and AK's been at an 8 or 9. Definitely a packed house!

There was a sign indicating that MK was closed today at about 1:30 pm when we drove past. Fortunately we weren't going there today, so it wasn't a big deal for us. The parks have been crowded, but we've mostly been arriving late in the evening and staying until park closing and doing everything we want to do.

We avoided the parks and went to Disney Springs. We heard MK was at phase 3 by 10:30 with 60K guest. We went last Christmas and left by 12:00.

No fun when it's that full.

Here now. We were at 1900 Park Fare for breakfast. On the bus back to POP we saw the lines of cars being turned away from MK. We rested at the resort and are headed into EP now for dinner and a couple of FP's. We wanted to make today a more relaxed day. POP transportation has been great all week including today. Merry Christmas!

I'm here! Waiting in line to get in to the fireworks dessert party. Crowds were not bad at all until about 1030/11am when it really picked up. It's been completely doable with dining reservations and good use of the fastpass system. We got to MK to line up at 620 and did buzz x3, pooh, little mermaid, haunted mansion, small world, laugh floor, SDMT, Peter pan, saw the parade with a FP, pirates, people mover, and jingle cruise x2. We did lunch at BOG and dinner at liberty tree. We have not waited more than 20min for anything with rope drop and fastpasses. And I feel like we have kept a leisurely pace with lots of breaks. It's been great! Definitely not as horrible as people have described it, granted I am here a lot and know my way around the park.

Just a reply to the Disney Christmas special, OP. We were at the MK while they were filming some of it during our visit in November. I think they filmed the 11th through the 14th, while we were there. It did not affect the crowds much at all. The cast was ushered in before rope drop and taken to their designated area. We saw them filming several times in front of the castle with a special event going on with the Disney characters. We could watch some of it, but they were too far to see to good, but could hear them pretty well. The "audience" had special blue streamers or something like that at one filming. So, they did not impact us at all. We weren't their while they filmed the parade sequences.

Did Epcot close for capacity today? Anyone know what capacity is for Epcot? (How many people)??

I would bet EPCOT hasn't react capacity since the earl days in the 1980s.

However, folks were backed up outside to see Figment the other afternoon. I can't recall the que ever reaching that far back to wrap along side the rest of THE EMPTY building.

Way too much wasted space in Future World.

Agree. Time to start revamping Epcot, but that'll be many years away.

We were at AK today, it wasn't crowded at all until after lunch then it was packed. I would say 9 out of 10.

The only time Epcot comes even close to capacity is NYE. I have heard that the last time it actually closed was NYE 1999/2000.

Wow! Good for you! This is proof that you can still do and see a lot and have fun even when it's really busy. Enjoy the rest of your trip!

After spending a couple of hours at EP, we rode the boat over to DHS to see the Osborne Lights. We had originally planned to see them last night but ended up wanting to spend some time at the resort after our day at AK. We had no problems getting there and the lights were not crowded at all. We had a wonderful time dancing and singing and viewing the amazing show. It was even better than I remember it. It was the perfect way to end our Christmas Day.

We arrived at EP yesterday around 4 pm. We first went to IG guest relations where ther was no line. There was also no line at IG. We walked through WS and it was crowded, but I've actually seen it more crowded over spring break. We then went back to BWV, where we are staying, had dinner at Trattoria (no wait for our ADR), got ice cream (no line) and played games and watched shows on the Boardwalk. It was awesome! We didn't do any rides, which may not be the experience you are looking for, but we had a very relaxed, enjoyable Christmas in WDW.
