Who wants to plan with me? mid Nov - mid Dec - We're up to 110! WOW!

Did you see the hours posted for the Hacienda and Cantina de San Angelo? I had seen it but all I do remember is that the Cantina opens at 11am and the Hacienda opens at something like 4 or 5. I didn't recall closing times. If the Cantina isn't open at night, that would be a real disappointment.

I bet the pizza on the dining plan works just like it does for in-room pizza delivery. You must trade in 4 table service credits for a large pizza, plus 4 sodas and I don't recall if dessert is included... but it must be. That is listed on all the websites as in-room pizza delivery service. They have it at all the resorts, not just DVC. You know what pizza I can't stand... Pizza Planet! Yuck... its almost as bad as the CBS Commissary. Bottom of the barrel.

Hmm I don't see closing hours. Just one article on the Disney food blog says that the Hacienda de San Angel will "serve as a CS eatery during the day, and a TS eatery at night". Then there is another article that says it will have both CS and TS components, whatever that means  I guess we'll be hanging out in the Cava de Tequila if we can find room ;)

Interesting about the in-room pizza. Again, having not had the dining plan, I didn't know that, I just don't want the dining plan to ruin my chance to have some decent pizza at WDW  As for eating in DHS, we're stuck on that one because the Fantasmic package is at 4PM, but I'm gonna need some other food before and probably after that. Is Starring Rolls the only decent place there?

Our Fantasmic package is at 2:25pm at Mama Melrose with Fantasmic at 6:30. Funny thing. My son is the one who really wanted to try Mama Melrose, but we're going there on Tuesday and we're picking him up from Florida Tech on Tuesday AFTER Fantasmic!!:rolleyes1 so he'll miss it.

I haven't tried Starring Rolls yet, but my friend Christelle got there at rope drop and had coffee ( or latte) and a cinnamon bun and she really liked it alot. :cloud9:

Our Fantasmic pkg is at Mama Melrose's too :goodvibes We've never seen Fantasmic and thought having the package was our best bet. I wanted the cobb salad at the Brown Derby but that was really all that looked good to me and I couldn't justify spending that much more for a salad :lmao: Too bad your son will miss it, from what I've seen in pics it looks really neat inside!

Is there any other place that's good in DHS for CS?

Do people normally use a touring plan in mid to late November or is it un-crowded enough that it's not necessary?

DHS is CS challenged. There's a place toward the back called Back Lot Express I think. That one is acceptable. Other than Starring Rolls for coffee and snacks, and other snack cart types... DHS is just not the place for Counter Service. After my last greasy experience at CBS Commissary I vowed to go hungry rather than eat there. Besides DHS is just a short boat ride from EPCOT. Although I'm not sure the boat runs between them, but it is a short boat ride to Beach Club where you have much better options like Beaches & Cream :cloud9:

I didn't use a Touring Plan for Nov 07. Didn't know about it then. But I will at least use it to decide what parks to go to each day. However, my sister and her family will be along, so plans will be subject to change and the whims of teenagers. I'm not using a touring plan for August because I'm not a rockin' roller coaster type and DD8 is afraid of even the Great Movie Ride. We have to pick and choose. I'm hoping to get her to go on the Snow White.. if I distract her from the words Scary Adventure. She doesn't like Haunted Mansion because she's "afraid of pretend ghosts".. she didn't specify real ones?:confused3 Just pretend ones. It'll be hot too, so we're allowing for lots of pool time. Even though, we won't be staying at a DVC, we're going Value, so the pool doesn't excite me, but she doesn't mind it. Its a pool!

I have been lurking for a while but now we have our plane tickets so it's official:cool1: So here goes:
*Where are you staying? WL 1st time at WL and our 2nd time at WDW as a family
*When are you going? Nov 28-Dec 6
*Who's in your group? Me, Hubby, DS7 and DD 3
*What is everyone hoping for as far as ADRS? I have:
CM-Dinner(been before, don't love the food but it was such a blast!
50's-Dinner (new)
Teppan Edo-Lunch(new)
Crystal Palace-Dinner(did breakfast last time)
WCC-Lunch(new)
Tusker-Breakfast(new)
Ohana's(been before)
CRT-Lunch(new)
LeCellier-Dinner(been before)
*What are you looking most forward to? Christmas decorations,MVMCP,Osbourne Lights,BBB, our children's reactions to all of it:cloud9:
*Are you using any other site to help you plan? Allears, TP
*What are you doing to get in the Disney spirit now?
Now that everything is planned, we are trying to figure out how and when to tell the kids

 and a bonus... if we're not running to stuff ourselves with a full table service or quick service meal with dessert, we can have Dole Whip for lunch instead!! :ssst:

Oddly enough i never had a dole whip. I wanted to get one last year but last year was a very ruff trip for me and i forgot all about it.

I think table service is just to much food for me to eat three meals a day. I love quick service. I like being able to eat when i want too and not worry about timing.
I REALLY wanna try the new Italian place when it opens up in Epcot, if anyone hears anything please let me know.

Has anyone hear about wishing being extended?

I keep forgetting that DHS is near Epcot is near the Epcot resorts  We wanted to try Beaches n' Cream too. I'll have to look up when they close, it might be a good time after Fantasmic.

:rotfl: Scary Adventures of Snow White, too cute, and 'pretend' ghosts :scared1: In August, I'd take a pool, any pool, too. We're thinking about the touring plan because we really want to do as much as possible and hit the big ones at least once. I'm hoping that it'll be really low crowds though and we won't need it.

Oddly enough i never had a dole whip. I wanted to get one last year but last year was a very ruff trip for me and i forgot all about it.

I've never had the famous (infamous?) Dole Whip either, but I hope to remember to try it this time!

Hey everyone.... I'm finally done with graduation. Not out of the woods yet, but daughter's dress rehearsal and ballet recital is Thursday and Sunday respectively. We have a dentist appointment for DS18. 4 cavities:scared1: I told him.. I was paying for that instead of his AP for Disney Quest. We also have his Eagle Court of honor coming up in July.. so much before Disney.

I keep thinking about pool hopping. I am just not used to that I'm staying at the Pop this trip (and by this trip I mean Aug. not Nov) instead of Saratoga. Every time I envision the pool I see Saratoga's pool! I might get very confused.

Dole Whips are so refreshing. I wish I had one now. My throat is very sore. Beaches & Cream is fun. Its like a diner, with that kind of food, but the ice cream is great and the "kitchen sink" infamous!

So, DH is looking into going on a WDW fishing excursion on the Downtown Disney lakes. Has anyone done this before? If so..how did you like it and what was the cost? He wants to do the Bass boat not the pontoon. He's an avid fisherman. Thanks in advance!!!:boat:

My DF has gone on this twice already and we're booking him another trip. The guys in our trip love fishing and the boat holds 5, and each time they had the tour guide "JR" who happens to know exactly where the fish are at Bay Lake. They caught about 35 to 50 fish in the 2 hour time slot. I usually book the 7:00am - 9:00am time slot, leaving from Ft. Wilderness Campground or the Lodge. It is pricey but well worth the memories and stories. There is a Disney travel book that offers 20% of the tour or if you are a passholder member, you get a percentage off as well.

AmberHeartsDisney... I LOVE your Website!:lovestruc I wish I knew how to do something like that. It looks so nice.:woohoo:

Is there any other place that's good in DHS for CS?
We only do CS at 2 places at DHS. Pizza Planet (For DS) and Backlot express. (by Star Tours) I LOVE the Turkey Sandwich at Backlot and HIGHLY recommend it. I totally forgot about going to the Epcot resorts from DHS though.

Thanks SO much for the info. I'm booking my husbands trip today! Woo-Hoo!

Ok, I feel better now. We have our add-on day booked. We are staying for 5 nights at Saratoga Springs, but we wanted to add on another day, but not at Saratoga. We want to save points. So, we've now got one night at the Pop.
