Why Disney Parks decided to close Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Play It is one of the famous unsolved mysteries of Disney Parks that has no answer to why the attraction closed in the first place. Because this show was still popular at the time the Meredith Veira version debuted in syndication and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Play It even promoted the Meredith Veira syndicated version a lot. I basically think Disney Parks didn't promote the show enough and when the Disneyland version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Play It debuted at DCA in September of 2001 it think it took some of the Disney Hollywood Studios version's audience away but when it debuted Disneyland did not have any promotional commercials for their version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Play It at all when it opened. My mom also told me a real true fact and this was not misinformation at all that Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Play It had MIckey Mouse dressed in a host's outfit to help promote the show but I never ever saw Mickey Mouse at the Disneyland version of the show. But I mainly think Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Play It was the victim of little promotion from Disney Hollywood Studios and Disneyland and another thing that might've played a factor in the closure of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire was the problems the show would have such as technical difficulties and glitches resulting in shows being cancelled sometimes and the upkeep of the show itself. But I do remember reading that the entire set was auctioned off after the closure of Who Wants To Be Millionaire Play It happened which tells me that Disney Parks did not have any plans to keep the show going. But as I mentioned if Disney Parks were able to bring back Captain EO after Michael Jackson died why couldn't the same thing happen to Who Wants To Be A Millionaire after Regis Philbin died?
