I was just watching Who Wants to be a Millionaire and was wondering if the version at the MGM studios has the new lifeline and money/point structure. I know the phone a friend is phone a complete stranger and the 50/50 and ask the audience is the same but do they have switch the question after $25000 question?

I played it at Disney Studios this past week and there are the 3 lifelines- phone a stranger, 50/50 and ask the audience- that's all.

When we played a 9 yr old girl got into the hotseat and made it really far- I think she was 3 questions away from the cruise. -Steph

They have not conformed the attraction to the syndicated version of the show. WWTBAM-PI is still modeled after the network version of the attraction with the tenth question being worth 32,000 points and not 25,000 points. The syndicated version of the show is being filmed at MGM in mid January and maybe they will switch things around to make the attraction closer to the syndicated version.

The phone a friend hot line is very different in that now it is phone a complete stranger. They call someone on the street outside the attraction. If you are between shows and sit next to the phone they will likely ask you to participate. I was a stranger twice for contestants and gave the right answer to the contestants in the hot seat on both occassions.

I have been on the hot seat when an idiot decided to be cute and protend to be four years old. The CMs told me that they *****ed him out afterwards. I was on a 125,000 point question and blew it. Obviously, the phone a complete stranger is a weak hotline for the attraction except when you get someone who knows the area. I have been helped twice by this hot line in the past but have gotten four or five people who did not help me.

I have heard of people stationing someone good outside the attraction to be a ringer on the phone a stranger. I do not know if this is against the rules but I have heard of it being done.

Good luck and enjoy the attraction.

I made it to the hotseat on our last trip. I made it to the $125000 question, but got it wrong and waled out a $32000 winner. It was so much fun. I hope to get there again.

I was just wondering if they changed it to reflect the changes in the syndicated version.

Thank you & Geaux Tigers!!

I went a couple of years ago and when you did the backstage tour they said that if you are in the hotseat and see everyone behind the glass for the tour then take the "ask a complete stranger" they call the tour group who have already see the question and are discussing what the answer might be. You have a far better chance of getting a correct answer than if its someone on the street. Not sure if its the same now of course.

I have been on the hot seat several times over several years. They stopped the backstage tours a while back. Back when they were doing the tours, they would ask the tour if there was a group in the walkway when a "phone a complete stranger" lifeline request came up and if there was no tour on the walkway, they would call to Mikey Avenue. Now, they just call to Mikey Avenue.

The phone for this lifeline is just to the side of where the fast pass machines used to be located. Again, if you want just hange around that phone while a show is in progress. They give you a button if you are used as a complete stranger. I have one or two buttons at home some place.
