Considering DVC is expanding its presence with models in Tokyo to promote sales for Aulani, do you think they will continue to expand DVC internationally?

If yes, where would you like to see non-USA DVC villas first?
I vote for Paris!

I'd rather villas than hotel ... but am eagerly awaiting DVC in Tokyo!

I voted Tokyo as my son and grandchild live in Tokyo, needless to say it's two visits a year....

Nowhere. I'd like to see them stop building for many years and pay attention to the members they have now.

oops sorry missed the International part, I like the idea of the Caribbean but even better would be the Bahamas like say...Castaway Cay? :cloud9:

The problem with that is on certain days you will have to share the beaches with cruise goers and there is not that much beach property. I remember when we went the cruise chewed up most of the beach property on both sides.

Of course it is Disney, they could just build another beach, or extend the island.

I'd really be thrilled if they opened a DVC resort somewhere in New England. :rolleyes1

Sorry we live here - too cold 7 months a year. If in the U.S. I'd rather see it on the beach in South Carolina - at least that is drivable from CT.

There's nothing wrong with cold. They could do something in Colorado with skiing in the winter and enjoying the grounds in the summer.

Ummmm:confused3 What do you call the existing DVC at HHI?? :confused3 I think they got that one covered.

I voted Paris as I think with the Magic being pretty much stationed in Europe during the summers that is a viable option. We're planning to go to Paris before our Med cruise for a few days - I hate how many points they charge for a freaking hotel room there.:headache: Plus they require length of stay park tix. Disney in Europe is a total rip-off and I think more people will travel to Europe than to Tokyo so it could have some advantages. Tokyo sounds exotic but I think it's too far for many of us to ever get there.

Also, keep in mind that both locations are already well served by multiple hotels at different price and service levels, as such there is no real incentive for Disney to put DVC at either location. In addition in regard to Paris Marriott already uses land around the Disney golf course for a gradually expanding timeshare presence. As for Tokyo this is almost exclusively a domestic market and whilst targeting Japanese buyers for Aulani was an obvious move it is only to support sales given that the domestic market in such tough economic times, particular in regard to property, not dominate them. Further I think the Disney ownership of Paris is only about a third and Tokyo is only about 20% so the return from extra DVC visitors would not be significant to Disney.

I understand that the Paris resorts cost an extra 40% for non EU residents. Therefore, I think Paris would be awesome.
