I know this is waaaaaaayyy early, but I'm obsessive and getting antsy to plan. I want to do the Candlelight Pro. dinner package for our trip this December, but I need to know if a TS credit can be used. If so, can you pick any of the restaurants or only certain ones? I want to go to Le Cellier.

Thanks - Amy

I haven't done it, but read about it because we plan to do it this year.

Last year you could book any of the CP tiers with the plan.

We used our DDP last December (for the Candlelight pro.) and ate at Teppanyaki. If I remember correctly, there were several 'tiers' . I think teppanyaki was in the highest tier. I 'm sure you can use it to eat at Le' Cellier. It was awesome!

Ahhh...so that's the culprit! We'd actually decided not to visit during December because we had huge ADR issues last year due to the CP dinner packages. Not only couldn't get ADR's, Le Cellier wasn't even taking wait lists. :sad2:

We'll wait for an authoritative answer to this question. Maybe we'll reconsider...if you can't beat 'em, join 'em! On second thought, maybe we'll do a ressie and cancel if we can't use the DP for CP. Sounds like a P.

We also did the CP package with Teppenyaki on the DP. It was great! I "checked in" at the hotel in the morning and our CP package was ready to pick up at the front desk later in the day. I have to STRESS how important it is to arrive early. We sat down about 2 minutes before they started letting the general public sit anywhere they wanted....which by the way...if you're not on DP and not willing to book the package, you can absolutely get good seats if you line up ahead of time for the first show! Anyhow, we got seats about 2 rows from the back of the priority section.....but on the very end (away from the center). We still had a very good view but we were seated right next to the trumpeteers..I swear i lost my hearing for a few minutes at the conclusion of each song. :headache:

I didn't think you could use the food plan, but apparently I'm wrong.

If you want to go to Le Cellier and there's only 2 of you, if may be difficult. My DH and I tried to get ressies last year (we were not on food plan), on the first day of booking, and we were told nothing was available at Le Cellier. Several cast members told us it's very difficult to get ressies there for 2 people.

The Candlelight Procession lived up to all the hype. It was inspiring and entertaining and I can't wait to return.

Wow! Are you saying that Le Cellier is booked the first day the dinner package is available? (By the way, we'll have 4 in our party.) When can you make those reservations? Our dates are Dec 11th - 15th, so I was hoping it won't be quite as crowded as it will be closer to Christmas.

Listen, I live in Texas - there are more awesome steak restaurants here than I can shake a stick at!! If I can't get into Le Cellier, it won't kill me.

What else would y'all recommend if not Le Cellier?

We were on the dining plan in Dec. and did the CP. We dined at Alfredo's.
I made the dinner reservation the first they began booking CP. We didn't have any problems with the dining portion. (I was just disappointed to find out that arriving 1 hour early and we STILL had to sit in the rain to watch it) :rolleyes2

We used the DP this last Christmas, if you are making ressies late, just be flexible on the date and time, and you can usually manage. We had planned to eat at San Angel for Christmas eve, then found out later we could use the DP for the Processional Dinner. I called the lovely people at WDW-DINE, explained what I wanted to do, and they went through, found a time that San Angel still had available for the Processional (They block a certain number per night), booked me for the 26th, and then after we had that locked in went back in and cancelled my ADR for the 24th. We had a lovely time, and were able to get all the restaurants during our trip that we wanted. I told them where we wanted to go, and kept a list of 2nd choices in case I needed them. I didn't, but we try to go at offbeat times to avoid the largest crowds.

Stauncie - do you mean that you arrived an hour early and the reserved section was already full? If that's the case I don't see the benefit of the dinner package. What part of the month were you there? Which show did you see?

I found that the reserved spots were not all that great if yu did not arrive over an hour early. we arive and were behind apole almost at the back of the theatre. the reserved seats are in the middle of the theatre from front to back so if you arrives later you get seats in the back.
we ate at lecellier after the show and we had no problem with that.

I booked the CP before I had my resort reservation so I paid in full. When I picked up my CP vouchers they went ahead and refunded my credit card, I used MYW Dining to pay for the meal.

We booked Le Cellier on the Dining Plan for Christmas Eve CP (for 3) on the day that the package was released - well over a month before the "regular" 90 day advance, but we had the Dining Plan already paid for so it was not a problem. DH laughed out loud because we were away on vacation and I just "happened" to check in on the DIS and found out what day packages were going on sale and then said we weren't doing any touring that day until the package was booked.

I wanted the earliest possible time for dinner so that we could take our time and hit the last CP of the evening so that we could go from there to Illuminations. Actually a pretty good plan, because once again we had a great spot to see the fireworks just outside of the theatre.

Of course, 90 days is now 180 days, so who knows how the CP package will get released this year. Good luck! :thumbsup2

We did the CP on Dec. 8, the 5:00 p.m. 'show' (The first performance of the day) and dinner at 8 p.m. at Alfredo's. the guest speaker was Jaci Velasquez

We got to the pavilion at 4:00 to be seated (it was raining and had been raining all day) By the time we got there, the seating was in the last 3-4 rows (an hour early!!) and was NOT in the 'covered' sections. There was quite a bit of available seating that was protected from the rain, but they were not letting anyone sit there (we were told it was 'reserved', and even after the show started, they were telling people it was reserved, and didn't let anyone sit there) Those seats remained empty for the ENTIRE concert. It was our first CP, and probably our last. DH HATED sitting in the rain. Thats all he remembers about it now. It was 90 minutes of sitting in the rain.

We also did the 5PM show b/c we heard it was the least crowded. I was under the impression that the reserved seating was the whole front COVERED area? Not the middle row. Anyhow...we slipped in about 20 min before 5 and still sat under the covered area. I think the fact that it was raining may have affected the number of people sitting so early. I believe we went Dec 16th. Lou Diamond Philliips. Very good.

When you book...ask for a 5pm CP and a dinner time imm. after. Their system is set up where you eat first and then go to CP but they CAN do it the other way around if you request it. I just didn't want to feel rushed to finish eating before the show and I REALLY wanted to go to the first show so the rest of my EMH evening would be open for rides. I believe our ressies at Teppenyaki were for 6:15. The show was over around 5:45. That gave us plenty of time to use the bathroom, walk over to Japan and check in 15 min prior.

I was thinking about doing just that - the 5:00 CP with dinner after. I'm just a little dismayed with the number of people that had to line up so early. That's exactly what I'm trying to avoid by using the dinner package!

My choices will probably be Le Cellier, Rose and Crown or the Italian restaurant.

I am not sure where to post this but I have a question. I want to book the CP package for this december. Does anybody know if it is 1 TS credit or 2? Or does it depend on what "tier" you choose?

Thanks!!
Erin

Credits used are depending on the tier of resturant you choose.
