Who to use to get best hurricane policy?

I am a retiring teacher and want to celebrate by booking an early September 2019 trip. I have been to Orlando many times, but always in the summer. I understand Disney's policies and have booked Magic your Way packages before. I plan to stay at POR and get 2 day base tickets - (we are also going to Discovery Cove). Undercover tourist has slightly cheaper rooms available, but I'm afraid that Disney's hurricane policy wont apply to 3rd party booking. My travel dates would be flexible, but I dont want tickets if we have to cancel completely. Should I stay with Disney? (only $30 savings for hotel/tickets from UT)

You can search for travel insurance company comparisons and, I believe, narrow down your search with the site tools. Just aside, while September/October is peak hurricane time, the season starts in June.

I've been at WDW once during a hurricane. We were there for a 10 night stay and the hurricane hit during our 7th day. On day 6 they closed the parks at 5pm to make sure people got home or back to hotel before it hit. Roads were closed to all traffic including Disney buses at 8pm. Parks were closed on day 7. Roads opened up at 5pm and Disney opened the restaurants at Disney Springs for dinner. So for 1 day we weren't able to go to parks. Not sure insurance would have been worth it for us.

The people affected the most were those trying to fly in on day 7. They would be lose 1 to 2 days of their trip. Not sure if Disney refunded lost hotel nights. Disney did offer discounted hotel rates for those forced to extend their stay.

We lost our whole trip to Irma. Disney refunded us everything. Non refundable food and wine tastings, MNSSHP tickets, hotels and tickets. For $30 I would just book with a Disney.
