I am at wdw now. The cm at the handicap enterance to hm just asked my dh if he got his gac just to skip lines. Then he insisted my husband tell him what was wrong with him before he let him on the ride. My husband and I are upset! Yes my husbands disability is not visible. But the cm had not right to say that. Do I ask to speak to a manager at gr to report?

Make sure you get his name and then I would go to Guest Services. There is no reason for him to need to know that and asking if he got a GAC to skip lines is ridiculous. I think he definitely needs some re-training.

You can ask any CM in the area to call a manager.

We just went to guest relations and reported it. This is the second time this week a cm has been rude to us when we used the gac.

I ditto what livndisney said. You can have a CM call a manger and explain to them what happened. And please do speak to someone about it because the CM was in the wrong.

Thanks guys. I don't know if the cm's are overworked because of spring break but we have encountered many rude ones this past week

CM was plain wrong..........and he should know that a GAC is NOT a get to the head of the line pass........you go into the regular line

AKK

He showed his gac to the cm at the hm line and she directed us to another area to wait. The cm at that other entrance was the rude one. And you are right with the crowds this week we have done our share of waiting for everything

I'm glad you didn't just put up with the rude CM. I wonder if Guest Services will notify you of the eventual outcome.

That is intresting that you had trouble with HM. We went in 2009 on a Wish trip and asked the CM where to go and that my son would be scared in the strech room and wanted to bypass that to. She sent us to the exit but did not come with us. When we got to the exit we were yelled at by the CM and told to leave, we told him we were told to be there and he didn't care and told us to wait by the exit gate. 10 minutes later we are still waiting so when we saw a supervisor we flagged her over and told her what happened. She was very appologetic, got us right on the ride, and told us if we wanted to ride twice we could. The CM at the ride exit was horrible to us.:headache:

So weird for the CM to even SAY this, because using the GAC at HM can often cause you to wait longer than the "regular" guests. In the hot sun, too, no shade on the handicapped outside waiting area, and they sometimes only take one group in at a time.

Yes, report problems like this. We had to report a CM years ago at Blizzard Beach, who said my son did not LOOK handicapped (hello? He has Down Syndrome AND Autism)

We have also has many cm's this trip question my ds age . He is big for his age but he is nine years old. We purchased the child's dp for him because that is the type of food that he still prefers to eat and I share with him or purchase extra if he is still hungry. I'm really concerned about our sept trip. I don't want to have to deal with the questions again since his 10th bday isnt until after that trip

I doubt we will be notified. Our main reason for reporting this is so hopefully it won't happen again.

If you encounter another rude CM, tell them you want to see their supervisor right then and there. Don't leave the area just make them get the supervisor and make sure that the guilty CM doesn't leave the area. Put it to an end right then and there! This way also the CM will have to face you and apologize for their ignorance. Nothing like a little embarrassment to sink home a wrong.

::yes::
If at the time, this is best.
If it’s later the same day, go to Guest Relations with as much information as you can (name, description, attraction, time, the position the CM was doing, short description of what happened).

If it’s after you left, contact WDW by email at the “Contact us” address on their website.

We reported bus drivers twice and did not get any notification of what happened (although for one bus driver, I did find out because a bus driver I knew let us know).
But, in general, the person complaining won’t find out since it is a private personnel issue.

I agree with asking for a manager right then and there. I know it can mess with your plans for the day, but it is more likely to get settled if the supervisor/lead fixes the problem/re-educates the person immediately.

For example, I had a CM in Fantasyland (Peter Pan ride in DL) want to see my GAC for me to use the wheelchair entrance (which in this case is the exit - you wait in a long wheelchair line outside, then go into board the ride). I was sitting in my wheelchair at the time, and she still wanted a GAC. Now, I have a GAC which would have satisfied her, but I refused to get it out (since it was not pertinent to this situation) and eventually she asked another CM, who told her about "visual cues" such as wheelchairs. The CM was just new and did not quite get it.

But yes, the CM was WAY out of line demanding to know why he had the GAC and accusing him of "cheating."

I will probably make a scene if this happens to me. I would definitely get it resolved right at the time.

If we don't band on this, these practices by CMs will only get worse.

Well, my husband reported the BB CM. Big time. I missed it, because DH took Sean to the handicapped BB lift line entrance, the other 4 of us hiked up the hill, carrying their tubes too. (in the old days at BB, you had to carry up tubes, including the heavy family raft ride huge one!) So we were not even trying to have all 6 of us "cut" the BB ski lift line or something.

DH was told the CM was pulled from that area and would be sent for "re-training", which made sense to us.

What the CM and the general public would not know, is that Sean loved the water parks, but because of his limitations, would only stay there for about 3 hours, and had to leave after an early lunch. I would leave with him before 1pm. At least at the time, BB did not recognize the GAC, so you were on your own there. We have since given up on the water parks with him, and send him down the hotel pool slides instead. BW is a good one.

Gac is not used at the waterparks or DQ.
