Who To Ask WDW Swan Rate Question To

Hi Gang

I may have an opportunity to go to WDW this June through a conference through work. In June 2003 I did the same thing. The conference was a about a mile northeast of WDW and I was able to work it so that I stayed at the Swan with my DW and my DS(3) for about a week and a half. In any case, at the time my wife got an awesome deal where Westin was offering 50% off rack rates for those who had CAA or AAA. We got a concierge level room (actually a room with concierge priviledges) for $202/night. When I look on the Westin site or say DreamsUnlimitedTravel I see rates close to $300-400 for the same thing.

I guess my question is who can I ask that can tell me if they'll be offering a simular kind of deal (or better) come this June. We all want to stay on site again if we go to this conference again. However we're now spoiled by staying at the Swan (a 5 star resort) but can't afford a $400 per night price tag.

Thanks
Andy

I'd call the hotel directly and ask to speak to someone in reservations.

You should subscribe to Starwood to get their emails and newsletters, to Mousesavers newsletter, and to Allears for their newsletters. Call periodically to check.

I paid $134/night at the Swan at Christmas for a regular, nonview room, using a code from the Allears newsletter.

The AAA discounts are still around but subject to availability. Sometimes they put them in their system up to a year in advance, others maybe 6 months or so. Also, from past experience I have found that even when there is no availability online, sometimes a phone call to the hotel will find them. Good luck!

I had about five different rate options including Starwood, allears, aaa last year. I called the Swan directly to get quotes and when I said AAA, the reservation specialist said "Stop. You won't get better than AAA, it's our best rate."

I think rack for a standard room at the time was $289 and we paid $165 a night? Both rates before taxes.

But I guess my point is really that they are very accommodating and will let you go through all your options so you can find your best deal.

Good luck!
