Who stuffs your stocking?

Santa aka Mommy. Santa also stuffs the grown-ups stockings as a little treat for them. :)

I play Santa, including doing all of the stockings here. At least I get what I really want! My stocking usually includes new gloves, slippers, Post-it notes, and one or two books.

At our house, Santa has gone away from nuts (too messy and not very personal) and small candies. This year the kids' stockings will have a Lindt chocolate Santa, a Pez (dispenser with some candies), and one of those gourmetish lollipops (the small round ones you see on a stand at the cash register). The rest of the stockings will be chuck full of small toys and school supplies, etc...

DH usually gets new mechanical pencils, pencil lead and a new book.

Do you and your spouse stuff each other's stockings?

We stuff each others and my mom's and our pets too.

Never, never too old for a stocking. I stuff my husbands; he stuffs mine. My husband and I work together on my Mom's, his Dad's and our 23 year old daughter's. Everybody needs a stocking at Christmas!

Last year my daughter stuffed my stocking (she was 11). I hope she does it again this year. Prior to last year, I hadn't had a stuffed stocking for 19 years.

I haven't had a stocking stuffed in a very long time, but I don't really miss it.

Do you all wrap everything in the stocking or leave it unwrapped?

My Mom does my brothers, sisters, and mine. My grandmother gives one per couple to my Mom and her partner, my aunt and her fiance, and my uncle and his wife. I add a couple of things for my Mom and Sue in theirs.

Ours are always wrapped, partly as this prolongs the present opening, and partly as it takes up more room. My aunt on my Dad's side doesn't wrap things for stockings, though partly this is because she grew up Jewish and was disowned when she married my uncle, and had to make her own traditions as my uncle really didn't care to make a fuss or even tell her what he had done as a kid.

Nothing Santa brings in my house is wrapped...that includes the stocking stuff. I prefer my items nekkid. (just 'cause I had to say nekkid)

We leave the stocking stuff unwrapped in our house. Would be kind of fun to change that tradition when all the kids know who's filling the stocking because they could then contribute little things to individuals if they wanted to.

Ya had to bring some nekkidness from the PMS thread to here, didn't ya? :rotfl:

Oh yes! It's usually more exciting than the gifts themselves! :) Santa does the kids of course, but he tends to buy too much so the two stockings go on the love seat kinda surrounded by the extra little items that didn't fit. :) None of it is wrapped. Dh and I do each others- last year we had decided we didn't need more stuff, so the rule was no gifts for each other that couldn't fit in the stocking. Well, he's got a pretty big stocking! I had a lot of fun with that one. We do little stuff like gum, candy, etc, but also little expensive things like cologne and movies.

I stuff DH's stocking - FULL OF SOCKS AND UNDERWEAR :rotfl:

No, really. Here's where the tradition started:

When I was a child, we didn't have much money. It was pretty obvious why my parents didn't exchange gifts. My father, however, ALWAYS got new underwear in his stocking.

My mom would always laugh and say, "guess you weren't very good this year! All you got was underwear". Of course, as a child, I enjoyed this comment year after year.

WELL... about a year ago my Mom was down visiting and she had one too many margarita's and explained to me WHY Dad got underwear all those years.

My father is probably the most square, analytical, type "A" personalities you would ever meet in your life. My grandma would always say that she never in her life EVER had to ask my father to clean his room - he just did it. My mom, on the other hand, is completely type "B". She is creative, fun, and consistantly forgets where she sets her car keys down.

My Mom and Dad did NOT live together before they got married. So, shortly after they got married and found out these strange personality differences about each other, my mother being the creative smart *** she is starting playing tricks on my Dad.

My dad used to wear tighty whities (eek.. I know... bad mental picture) and every day in the morning, he used to take them into the bathroom and fold them up and put them on the top right hand corner of the sink. That is how type "A" he is... he had to put them on the SAME corner of the sink day after day. My mother, trying to "break" him, started sabatoging his underwear.

One day, it was a handful of KY jelly in the crotch of his underwear. The next time, it was a big red smiley face drawn on the butt with red permanent marker (that, of course, he did not find until going into the locker room after playing an after work game of basket ball with his friends.... :) ) One morning, she sewed the legs of his undies shut so when he went to put them on, he almost fell face first into the sink. Still another time, she ripped every 2rd stitch on the seam of the elastic around the waist of the undies so that by days end, the elastic had ripped completely off. My absolute favorite was, however, the time she bought a very small, inexpensive digital watch - set the alarm timer for a time when he was supposed to be in a meeting at work - and secretly sewed it into the flap of the undies. Needless to say, it did what it was supposed to and my father's crotch was beeping in the middle of his meeting :rotfl:

The reason my father got underwear in his stocking was not because Santa didn't like him - it was because my mother was slowly sabatoging his tighty whities and by Christmas he didn't have any left!! :santa:

Whew. That was long. Sorry. The story STILL makes me laugh!

fltwinmom, that is hilarious! Your mother sounds like a hoot! What fun! :rotfl:

Thanks Tigger...

She is. She's the absolute best. She is one of the funniest, most creative people I know. My Dad is a hoot too. They have funny, quarky, little sayings. My Dad STILL TO THIS DAY says "Wind the Frog!" when he wants us to all get moving and get out the door.

That's too bad...I have to have my stocking stuffed every year.

We wrap our gifts...love finding out what the surprise is going to be.

My husband stuffs my stocking. He tries to be sneaky, but I always know that he is planning on stuffing my stocking on Christmas Eve.

Kinda makes you wish that Christmas was more than once a year, huh?

Unwrapped for the stocking. The gifts we give to/from each other are wrapped but the items Santa leaves under the tree are not wrapped but are usually well hidden among the wrapped presents or if it's a bike or trampoline there's usually a huge red bow tied around it and already assembled by his elves on Christmas Eve ;) I really felt sorry for Santa and his elves on Christmas Eve the time DS got the trampoline with the enclosure (1:00 a.m. and sleeting, pretty uncomfortable I would imagine).
