I woke up yesterday and was so DISGUSTED with yet ANOTHER New England Snowstorm... I simply couldn't wait until NEXT February to escape. So, in the last 24 hours, we put together a whole trip... 2 connecting rooms at the Pop for 7 nights (would've been fine w/5-6 but if I was going to have to spend an extra $300 for airfaire I decided to stay the extra night instead!) -- got all the PS's I wanted (except CRT, but I DID get Akershus) -- including the Pirate Cruise for 3 kids, Fantasmic Dinner Pkg for 6 and two other character meals and more! I am getting excited, but also feel a bit unsettled for spending so much money in one day! I'm feeling a bit gluttonous as we went to WDW 2x last year. I am so excited but I don't want my dh to think I'm addicted (wait... I am though!!!)

I hope you have a magical time.....I am glad everything worked out!! :)

Good for you minmate! The "last minute" ones are often the best. My family hit me on Dec 27 with a last minute one for Feb 1,had to escape the cold (we had an ice storm 4 days before we went) even though we already had April 1 booked. We had a blast! Wound up with a YC room that was upgraded to wv for $199 (love those free upgrades) AP rate. Dont feel gluttonous, we will have been 5 times in a year with this upcoming April trip! Just enjoy it while the kids are young. There is nothing like sseeing the look on their faces as you start the walk up Main Street. When you get back let me know how you like Akershus, we will be back at the park in June and are waffling between it and CRT lunch for DD9's 10th birthday. Enjoy!

Sometimes these are the best, have a magical trip. :goodvibes :flower: :sunny: :wizard:

Good for you!!!! :cheer2:

have a great trip. You obviously knew what you wanted and went after it. Excellent job!!!!!

So when are you going?

Good for you!!! :cheer2: I'm trying to figure out how we might fit another vacation in this year. I'm thinking we may just do a couple long weekends somewhere. :scratchin

Good for you! I'm not sure we'll ever get spring here in MA. I think its going to be one of those years were it goes from winter to summer. It's so hard for me not to plan a quick trip. I've already got the AP's.... I guess I'll just have to keep planning my October trip. My DD(6 then) & I will go for 2 nights before DH, DS(4), DD(2) and adult friend. So DD & I will be there for 9 nights. I've never been that long. Can't wait!

My DH took DD(5) to the Flower Show this morning so I'm sure they will come home in the mood for spring! He took DS to grandma's and I'm home with DD(2). I was doing my taxes but I just couldn't resist a bit of a diz fix!

I know what you mean... I had just gotten dh to agree to looking at NEXT February but this past snow just put me OVER the EDGE!!! Now, we haven't even done this April trip and I'm wondering if he will still agree to next February! That's going to be a tough sell!

Good for you! I know the feeling believe me. On Feb 26th of last year decided I wanted to be in WDW for my birthday---on Feb 27th!

Got a great last minute airfare. Got AP rates. Called my DD10 from work who was off track (we had year round school) and told her "Guess what I'm going to do for my birthday...I'm going to Disney World! What are you going to be doing?" Her tentative answer was "Going with you?". Had a co-worker who was listening in tears. It was a priceless moment.

I'm sure your trip will be great too!

hightown-- wow, that's a great story! REALLY last minute too! I hope you & your family had a blast!

minmate, It was a great trip but short. We had no PSs of course. Another bit of magic was that Sunday morning at MK for EMH, walked by CRT and just on a chance asked if they had availability for us, DD and I. YES they did. Had never done that before either. It was a great trip.

I'm sure yours will be terrific and you don't have long to wait. be sure to post and let us know how it was when you get back!

Since we are also in MA, we feel your pain with this snow. So tired........ My DH said we could go next February, but I convinced him a few weeks ago to going this April vacation. It is so hard now with the kids being older and not wanting to take them out of school. So, we were able to book the FWCC from 4/16 - 4/22. We are driving down on the 14th (as of right now we should be able to get the trailer out of the driveway).

I visit these boards everyday. Even though we will only have 5 days in the parks, I am soooooo psyched.

Sounds like a great plan. We are in NH so I know what you mean. There's a convenience store down the street and their sign says "Snow with a hint of Spring." I don't even see a hint yet! We decided in Sept that the kids and I would go to WDW for Feb vacation and that was last minute to me since we usually plan our trip a year in advance! I told DH the only way I would go is if we still get to go next February 2006 and he agreed. Now my friend is planning on coming with us and we are already looking at pool rental homes. Can't wait for that. Have a magical trip. Sounds like fun! :wizard:

Tinkim -- Wow! Two trips on the horizon! That's great! I bet all the New England Disney Lovers are going to be in FL next Feb or April... after this never-ending winte!

Hightown -- we've never eaten at CRT. I didn't know about how hard it was to get ressies there the first time and the last trip... we had a party of 8... couldn't get a table. This time, too short... maybe we'll try what you did and get lucky too!

Emeraldlover -- It looks like you'll have a lot of New England company when you go! There were NO flights left during Spring Break. Luckily, my kids are still young... two in preschool part-time and my oldest is only in Kindergarten (half-days at that) -- she hasn't missed a day yet, so missing 7 next month should be no problem. I hope!

That's why were are driving down. The flights were just way too expensive for 5 of us (we are taking my Mom - her first camping trip and first WDW trip). We don't even care about the crowds, just want to get away. DH and I went on a cruise 2/13/05 w/o the kids (they were in school), but with this winter, 1 vacation was just not enough.

in 02 we were forced to make a last minute vacation to WDW! we had 22hrs to plan it - got MNSSHP ticks, Chef Mickey's and O'Hana's

during this wknds snowstorm DS & I took off to a wavepool

My friend was trying to convince me to go there instead! I said, "What?!" I can go there anytime, it's only an hour away! Plus, there's more to do there in summer! Although any stay in a hotel feels like a vacation! We had plans to go to John Carver Inn (owned by same company as the one you stayed at) -- only no wave pool... it has a replica of the Mayflower with an 80 foot waterslide (and I think a waterfall) for it's pool. Have you ever been there? I think we're going to cancel and save the money for our trip... not that it's much, but it'll help!

This past Saturday I booked the POP for April 2 - 5.. Was going to Florida anyhow and just couldn't stand the thought of being down there again and not getting at least a few days in at the parks..

Better yet, this is my FIRST time staying on Disney property so I'm excited.. :flower:
