Who said you don't anything free from disney

omg yes!! that was my first thought too. Yes, I will bring my family back into the fumigated room and trust the bugs are gone, uh, no thanks.
OP, I sure hope you come back to this post soon, this is our home resort and we're checking into it on Sunday, would love to know which room this is??

Doesn't happen that way the room is sealed couple of days and heated to 300 degrees. Best way to kill them

OP - great attitude:thumbsup2It is my understanding that prior guests are likely ‘to blame’ for bringing them into the room.

We experienced a wall of cockroaches/palmetto bugs (likely from some twit leaving the slider open grrr) there many years ago. Didn’t quite get the same efficient treatement by the management.

JMHO wouldn’t rely on your luggage being ‘free’ & cross contaminating the cleaned clothing. Helpful strategies for your return home follow. With the cockroaches I went a step further and first used insecticide spray on clothing in one garbage bag & open suitcases in other ones. Good luck

The luggage was also treated they said that was their procedure

hahawe are now at Disney and they are giving us vouchers for clothes

WE HAVE BED BUGS

If there is room they will change rooms take clothes for treatment and

Give us vouchers for some clothes

We will get them back within 24 hours

We are at beach club

Are you at Beach Club Villas or the hotel?

At least it was caught while you were still there. A friend of mine did not know she had bed bugs from her resort and took them home with her in her suit case. Disney paid to have her house treated as well.

I always peel back the sheets and check the seams on the mattress - bed bugs will leave a dirty residue there (bed bug poop).
It's the first thing I do before I put my luggage on anything.
Thank you for the info. I’ve made a note to do this. And I’m sitting here so grossed out, I’m sure I look like I just sucked on a lemon. {{{shudder}}}

We got lucky it was the last room available.

It takes several hours to do, and theoretically could be done while someone is at the park for the day - if it were reported early in the day. Because its heat and not poison, it isn't at all dangerous to be in the room after its done.

But yeah, DVC runs pretty full. Even Disney can't make rooms magically appear. They could move you over to a different DVC resort or to a room on the hotel side if necessary - but if you have seven people in a two bedroom, you might end up split up for a night while your DVC room gets treated, since the hotel isn't likely to have a suite sitting free. And you might end up in a different resort.

Could be several hours. The guy said a day or two. Could be to make sure and allow heat to penetrate everything. Just going by what he said.

Yeah, they are doing a few days and bringing the temp up a lot higher than it needs to be to be extra extra sure. But its like 180 degrees and 20 minutes once it reaches that temperature - which takes a while to reach in your soft furniture. (I don't think bed bugs burrow too far down and survive, but they do get into the stuffing on a couch or mattress far enough that you need to get past just surface temperature.)

I'm impressed with how "chill" you are. This would be me.

Sounds like you caught it early. Hope it works out for you. We had a bed bug incident at POFQ before. We had no idea at the time, while we all had bites my DD took the brunt of it. Any hotel we go to now my DW does a full inspection before we bring our suitcases in the room.
