Who received free dining today?

Found an e-mail from my TA first thing this morning saying she had added the free dining to our reservation. We're staying at the Beach Club, standard view room, and didn't have to upgrade to get it, thank goodness.

Is there a link to the free dining info?

I had dinner with friends who are going in September...last night and mentioned that "sometimes" they do Free dining...

Now this is the first thing Im hearing about this !

A friend of mine had booked her trip earlier this week so I told her to be sure to check back today and see if she could save some money. They had to upgrade their view from woods to courtyard at Wilderness Lodge. But even with the upgraded view, she said they saved $473!!:cool1:

We got free dining! We had to change our hotel reservation from the Little Mermaid room at AoA.. which I am really bummed about, but we are staying at All Star Movies now and saved $700! Pretty decent :)

Was on hold twice for almost an hour each time and my call got dropped. Finally got through on the third try and was able to add free dining to our POFQ package without having to upgrade rooms...going Dec 13-26, so we saved over $2550 with free dining!! :goodvibes

Super excited because last time we went we had QSDP, so this is our first time doing DDP! My favorite ressie - 8:05am at CRT on Christmas Day!!! :santa:

My TA emailed me this morning and told me that free dining was available. However, we were originally due to arrive on 10/05. Just outside of the cutoff date. Well, if we could change our arrival date, then she said she could possibly get the free dining for us.

I told her to go ahead and do it. As long as we were going to come out either ahead, re: due a credit, or if it would be the same to arrive a day early.

Well, since we are flying and had to change our flight, our savings weren't huge, but we are still getting a credit. We ended up having to upgrade from a standart view room at POFQ to a River View room at the same resort.

After all was said and done, we ended up saving $108 dollars. Not too bad and we get to spend an extra day in Disney!!

I should SO know the answer to this ,but I don't. IF we arrive Oct 18, and the DDP starts 10/19, we will just have to pay OOP on the 18th and the DDP kicks in for us on the 19th?

Yes. Do a room only ressie the first day, link your ressies so you do not have to change rooms the next day. If a room discount is available, you can apply it to your first day.

Book length of stay tickets and pick them up a day early at guest relations at the parks or DTD.

Pay OOP for the first day at CS or DTD at EOS or WPE; really good food for the price.

FD works in reverse; if it ended the first day you arrive, you can still get it for your entire trip, as long as that is the promotion.

As you can probably guess, I have never done DDP before. We have always paid OOP.

One more question...I am not 100% sure how many of us are going. I haven't talked to my girls yet. One is in college and the other is a senior in HS. Of course, their fall breaks don't match up. SO, I'm thinking of just booking myself. If I decide later, as long as the DDP dates match up with the deal, can I add my 2 girls on and not have to pay for DDP? Does that make sense?

ETA: My oldest DD is 18 and my youngest is 17. So that would make it 2 adults and one junior.

I'm not trolling, I just can't get my head straight. I'm afraid crowds will be huge if I/we go during free dining. I don't know if it will be worth it. I went alone last Dec. I really, really wish I had made an inventory of what I bought and paid for food!

ETA: Sorry for my indecisiveness. Rough week. Hoping my Friday the 13 will be better :)

Ok, I have booked a room, 7 day hopper and Quick Service DDP. I would rather have fewer crowds than save money (I am SO not rich, I just really, really hate crowds!) So, for me, it's a trade off. Going Dec 9-15. YAY! Off to create my ticker :)

Thanks to everyone!

Got it Monday but have the Disney Visa, we had a room booked at POP thru AAA with room dissount but gave that up for free dining (the better deal). DW went in and AAA had no problen with the switch. I think this is our 6th free dining, love the fall time of year we use to go in September but like the cooler weather in October plus the Food and Wine Fest. can't miss that.

Why did they have to upgrade to courtyard view? I have woods view and got free dining.

I didn't. :( We are at POP from Oct 14-20 and FD starts Oct 19. We can't change vacation either due to work. It would've been nice to save some $$$.

My guess is all the woods views were booked already. Guess that's what was showing up in availability when she called. I don't know. ?

We got it!!!! Switched to a Lion King suite from LM rooms to get it! So it was win win YAY everyone!:flower3:

YAY!! so excited .. i called and got free dining yesterday - had to move from finding nemo suites to lion king suites and we changed from table service to quick service ... so we're saving 1000.00$ !! p.s the CM that took my call said there was a GOOD possibility that the finding nemo suites will come available at some point for free dining ... so at that point we can switch back ...cross ur fingers!!:goodvibes

HEY!
I am sorta pissed at WDW right now. I have had a POLY room booked for months. Called this AM and they said they couldn't do it bacause it wasn't available.

I told them the offer is good if the first day of your stay is in the date range..

(Hold for 2 minutes)

Guys still stays no... ask to speak to a supervisor.....

She tells me "no" , but if I change to the Grande Floridian, its available.

WHAT GIVES?

I have never had such customer service issues with WDW, with an offer....

I really love the POLY...its only saves us 400 for the visit but geez....

Anyone else have something like this happen?
