Just wondering with all this dining plan going on - who really uses the kitchen in the villa?
We'll have a kitchen, and maybe we will use it for breakfast. That way we can stay in our p.j.'s a little longer. We normally wake up very early at home.
So who uses their kitchen and how much?

We went in November, and even without the dining plan we fixed a big breakfast every morning.

With the dining plan last month, and in a studio, we still had breakfast every day, just things were a little easier to fix.

We will have a 1 bedroom in August and plan on b-fast every morning again. This is with plans to be at rope drop every day also. It just works for us.

I hope that is how it works for us, too. Breakfast in the room and we are early risers, however, with kids, I have NEVER been to rope drop. Maybe this time since it is just the two of us, we''ll make it to rope drop at least once!

By the way, should I bring dish detergent?

We use ours all the time. Too much Disney food isn't good for our tummies. ;)

Dish detergent and dish washer detergent, sponge, kitchen towels etc are supplied.
Remember salt and pepper and any other condiments you might want to use.

We use the kitchen every morning and also my kids (19,17,13) always go back to the room midday to swim and hang out and will make a plate of nachos and cheese or pizza rolls when they are getting ready to head out to the pool. Also late at night when we are coming back to the room if the stores in the lobby are closed or if I don't feel like walking to the lobby I love being able to make a cup of tea and an english muffin before bed. And my husband has a bad habit of having a bowl of cereal before bed. So we stock up when we arrive and then use the kitchen alot. I am not however one of those moms who cooks meals on vaca. Hope you have a great vacation! :cheer2:

We haven't made a meal other than Breakfast and snacks, but it's nice to have the big fridge... I enjoy a lovely adult beverage now and again and it's nice to have room for the 12-pack...

We do not cook big meals, but we do use the kitchen for quick meals and snacks. We love having the kitchen and fridge in the room.

Same here...50 weeks of the year we rush around everymorning to get the kids off to school and get to work. This is our vacation, its nice to take our time and relax in our pj's and enjoy our deck in the morning.

Also, since we try to stay 10-12 days....we tend to use the kitchens alot for quick meals and snacks. Dont get me wrong we still like to eat out at least once day :teeth:

The kitchens fit into our vacations habits as we love to enjoy resorts and just hang out.

We use it for breakfast each morning...and it is great for late night snacks and such when we are unwinding after a long day... Even with a meal plan, I would love having a kitchen!

Us, too. We use it all the time-for our morning coffee, heating breakfast muffins in the microwave, having a glass of soda (or "adult beverage") in the evening. You didn't mean actually use that oven thing did you? We never touch that! But we love having the coffee maker, microwave, and refrigerator.

We do. Having a kitchen or a kitchenette was one reason why DVC was our dream. I get really tired of eating out. Probably had two meals in the suite each day on our last trip.

Can you tell I'm not a mother ...cause I'm sure some mothers would get saddled with the cooking at DVC....

and that I love hanging out?

We always use it to make a big breakfast every day. We do things like oatmeal or pancakes that stick with you awhile. Then we often do a light meal every couple of days and occationally a full dinner.

You mean the stuff in there actually works? We thought it was just decoration! :rolleyes1

Okay....we do use the microwave a lot (popcorn and such) and brew tea on the range. We wear out the toaster, but the oven doesn't get a whole lot of work (great place to hide things from DW). :)

Oh, and the dish washer gets a good workout too. All in all, we are glad to have access to the full kitchen.

We do the same. We don't cook things as large as a roast, but frequent pizza and salad suppers, etc. We also buy deli rolls, meats, condiments etc and make lovely big deli-type sandwiches, wrap 'em tight and have them on hand for the boys to grab when they are hungry. Also keep lots of fruit, ice cream, etc.

Breakfast for sure. Maybe a lunch or dinner where we did take out or are having left overs.

We make breakfast there, and also snacks such as pizza. And we use the fridge for juice, milk and fruit.

The kitchens are great though - I've read about people on here who even cook a huge Christmas dinner on them. I may do that one day, but right now, I'm too tired to cook every night at home, never mind on vacation.

We don't do the dining plan. We have never spent $152 on food in one day, and don't really see doing so in the near future. We always have breakfast in the kitchen and even have 1 or 2 simple dinners there as well. Sometimes we order pizza and make a salad to go with it. We also frequent the water parks and always take a picnic lunch, which we make in the kitchen.

I should point out that we are usually at the resort for at least 14 days each trip and do tire of eating out all the time. The kitchen gives us a nice break from the restaurants. If our trips were a week or less, we probably wouldn't use it as much.
