Who needs a Charley when I have a Holly...

My darling, much loved DD Holly is destroying my house!! She is almost 9 mos now and can crawl and has now begun standing up by herself. She takes great pleasure in yanking the movies and dvds off the entertainment center. Oh and let me tell you about the books! I happen to "collect" them so I have ALOT. I kept yelling "NO" every time she went near them, and she would stop touching them, but as soon as I turned my back she started throwing them over her shoulder. It looked like a little twister with books flying everywhere! I swear she had this sick little smile on her face and I know she was having a blast! I finally had to take the books off the bottom three shelves of every bookcase (5 of them) and put the books in my laundry room so she couldn't destroy them. My cat is keeping them company right now as he too took cover in the laundry room. When DH comes home from Iraq I am making him move the bookcases to our room and taking Holly and her crib to Remy's room. My living room will look so empty but as long as the books are safe, I can deal with that. Besides then I can buy that baby swing set that I...make that Holly wants...to put in there!
Ahh..the joys of motherhood!

I hear you! When my DD's were little, their favorite thing to do was to take all the videos out of the neatly organized bookshelves, and take every tape out of every box. Then I would put them all back in their cases, put them back on the bookshelves for them to do it again the next day.

You know what ... in my case they weren't damaging anything and it kept them occupied for a little while, so I didn't mind too much.

They they started playing with water. That's another story all together.

Remyandhollandsmom -- I'm right there with you! Youngest DD, Maddie, will be 11 months next week. She's been crawling for about 2 months now and last Sunday started walking. I'm constantly putting videos back in their cases and into the entertainment center! I usually fold laundry on the couch in our living room, so I put everyone's basket on the floor where I put the clean clothes to take upstairs. Not any more!!! She can empty a full basket of nicely folded clean clothes in about 2 minutes flat! Now I either have to fold all the clothes when she's napping, or haul every load upstairs to fold them in our room. She too gets that wicked little grin on her face, she knows she's not supposed to do it, but it's so fun!!
