This place looks like an incredible deal, especially for breakfast! How is the food? Atmosphere? I want to know!

:sunny:

I've only gone here for dinner. It was very good. I'm actually going there for dinner next trip. It's a great value. The only drawback is getting there. If your driving you'll have to park and then get on one of FW internal buses(I'm not sure which one). That will drop you off near HDDR which is right next to Trail's End. If your relying on Disney transportation I would recommend taking a bus from your resort to MK then getting on the fairy to FW. I personally think it's worth the travel ;)

I love Trails End! When I'm at disney for more than 4 days I make sure to go there. It's just so darn time consuming to get there... :)
Breakfast is great, they have mickey waffle (my fav)... but I remembered their french toast wasn't too great. Everything else is awesome.
They are the cheapest buffet at WDW. Great deal if you want to load up before heading out to the park for the day.
Have to tell you tho, might have trouble walking out the door after eating all that food... LOL!!! :rotfl:
And when or if you do, there are rocking chairs outside the restaurants along the patio where you could rest your full belly and watch people strolling by before tackling the parks... hehehe....

have fun! eat some mickey waffles for me...

We have done all of the buffets there and enjoyed them all. The dinner is the best, but lunch and breakfast are not that far behind. At the breakfast buffet they have freshly made donuts that are out of this world. ENJOY!

another :thumbsup2 from my family. We love this place. We go here when we stay at FW so travel to there is not a big deal. I do think it is the best bang for the buck.

I love this place. I go every time I make a trip and now I make an ADR as some times it is busy. It is the best bang for the buck and the food is good as well as service.

I have eaten at TE for lunch and breakfast and walked away pleased both times. It is relaxing back there too. :thumbsup2

I booked LAST NIGHT for the HDDR for tonight. (First timers) :cool1: It will be interesting to see if the food is the same as the buffet.

We love this place. We will be staying at the WL this trip (usually we stay at FW) and DH wants to walk over for breakfast. It is the best deal on Disney property. Easy to get to. Go to the MK and hop on the boat for FW.
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

We did dinner there in 2004 and LOVED it! It was a last minute decision. There were 4 adults (3 of them picky eaters, myself included) and one child. The food was very good and quite reasonable in price. It was able to satisfy all appetites with chicken, carved meats, salad, shrimp, pizza, etc. The atmosphere was quite loud, but understandably so. The waiters/waitresses were a lot of fun cracking jokes and such...teasing DS...having FUN! I would go again in a heartbeat IF I was paying for it. With DDP there are so many other wonderful "higher priced" choices I wouldn't waste credits on Trails End...but if we end up short and need somewhere yummy and fun to eat you'll find us at the Trail's End!

HTH!

Plus a great value for your dollars. :goodvibes

I always loved Trails End back when we used to camp at FW! And last year when we were on the DDP we went there after a hiatus of many years and were thrilled to see that the breakfast buffet was as excellent as always! We all enjoyed our meals immensely and the food was hot & plentiful. It was relaxing and comfortable (in the way a non-character buffet is!) and we just plain had a great time! Ps. I loved the hash! :yay:

Boy, I thought dinner here was my own secret! We love to eat there, especially on a MK day. Taking the ferry over is very relaxing and we have never had to wait for a table. The food is great and several items seem to be the same as the food at Hoop-de-do which is next door. It is one of few really good "value for the money" meals at WDW.

Exact same food, cheaper and more selection at Trail's End though....

We went to Trails End when Wilderness Lodge concierge suggested it as a last minute dinner. It was a nice boat ride over and there was a cool playground and mercantile store right by the boat dock where we got on and off. The atmosphere is very casual. We had two young kids and loved the laid back dinner. My DD slept in her stroller! It was an early , 5:00ish dinner and I think our party of 6 may have been the only table there at that time! Great food. Basic, but good and worth the trip. We probably wouldn't use another TS for the place, but if I was paying OOP, I'd do it again for sure. :thumbsup2

About 8 years ago we went on an vacation with extended family-10 in all staying in 2 cabins in FW. Cousins, sisters, spouses, kids--one of my cousins is married to a brave Washington DC firefighter not known for being a warm and fuzzy kind of guy (kind of a grump). Anyway, he was transformed by Disney! He was one happy fellow.
We decided to do the buffet one morning. After being quickly seated, our wonderful waitress took the drink orders and addressed Mr Grump as "Sunshine" and proceeded to keep calling him this every time she visited the table. We were cracking up! The food was great and to this day, we still refer to him as Sunshine.

We like to end our WDW stays with lunch at Trails End. We park at and do some shopping at WL, then take the boat over to the camp grounds.

Can any of the TE fans help me with some parking info.

We are flying in from the West coast(CA) on the night owl, arrive MCO @ 9:25am Check in at SSR is not till 4pm. Yes we could check in early and wait for the room to be ready but I would rather just make ONE TRIP when the room would actually be available.

So the question is, Where do we park? Is it a bad idea to drive to TE?

I don't think it's a BAD idea to drive to TE. You park near the place where you check into FW. Then you take an internal bus to, I think the area is called "the settlement" and the TE restaurant is there.

One thing, is that the restaurant is not continually opened. I think breakfast ends around 11 and then it opens for lunch, maybe 11:30 or noon.

As far as the room in SSR goes. I think it would be better to check in because if there is a room ready early in the day, you can be lucky and get it. If you check in, you don't have to wait around, you'll be given a telephone number to call to see if your room is ready. We've checked into SSR at 10AM and had our studio ready. We've checked into other resorts and if the room wasn't ready, we went to a park, or out shopping or even we just stayed at the resort and enjoyed the pool. There are places to change, at the health clubs for instance, you can get a locker, you will have a resort key.
