Who lives in NY (Manhattan)?

Oh, one more must-do!

The Sanrio Store!
Located on 42nd Street, between 7th and 8th avenues.
It's a haven for women of all ages, especially teens!
Plus a great place to pick up souvenirs for friends and little ones back home. In addition to the standard Hello Kitty stuff found at other stores, this place has a lot more, plus a fair selection of New York merchandise. The merchandise is so adorable, and the prices are pretty darn good. Plus, if you get hungry, Coldstone Creamery is just next door. :D

Thanks a million for all the info!! So much to do, see, experience. I have a feeling that might be why my friend has lived there for 6mo and she still hasn't experienced much of what there is to see/do/etc. there! LOL

I've lived here for 13 years and STILL haven't done some of the things I said i wanted to do if when I lived here!!

Living and breathing in Manhattan. :)

Everyone else gave you enough suggestions. Just remember to take it easy. Like WDW, there is no way you can see everything in one shot. My recommendation is to venture outside of Time Square (because that ain't Manhattan) and you'll be greatly rewarded. Take the subway. It's safe and it's real NY.

BTW, NYC's Chinatown is not the largest, San Francisco's is. But it definitely worth visiting. Food is so much cheaper there.

Enjoy.

Congratulations on the tickets to see Wicked. It is one of the hardest shows to get right now and it is almost completely sold out until mid December. I am seeing it again myself on 10/19.

OMG! That's the same day we're going to Wicked. We're going to an evening show, row X Orchestra. Doesn't look like very good seats :(

Question about the subway: Is there a route from the Times Square area to the Trade Center site? If so, do you know where in Times Square it is? I had the most difficult time FINDING the subway stops in Wash DC. Doesn't seem like they're marked very well. NYC may be better... I've only been one other time and we never looked for the subway just took cabs.

And one other thing: Does anyone know anything about The Muse Hotel? Is it nice?

Thanks for all the help.

One word of advice, there's a street in
Manhattan named Houston, but it's pronounced
"HOW-ston" just thought I'd let you know ;)

And you won't have problems riding
the subways, people are really great about
answering your ??'s about which one to get on,
which side to catch it, etc.
And make sure to buy the commuter cards
that last all day - they used to be about $3.
They pay for themselves after your 2nd
subway trip in one day.

Metro cards have gone up a bit and now the one day FunPass is $7. It still pays for itself on the 4th trip.

Pugdog......I can't believe that we will be at Wicked on the same night. How funny is that! Lisa and I will be in row R on the right side of the theater right on the aisle-seats 2 and 4. As for row X, there really is not a bad seat in the house at the Gershwin theater. If you are in the theater for this one you are lucky. that is how hard these tickets are to get.

As for a subway to WTC.....the 1/9 train ( the red line) will get you there. You can take it right at 42nd St. or even up a little further at 50th St and then get out at Rector St. and you should be right there.

Hopefully we will be able to say hello at the show that night.

Enjoy Broadway! Both show are much better than Lion King & BATB.

Ooh, great tip... that's going to be hard to remember & pronounce it that way though. Hopefully I can avoid having to say that street name. LOL Houston (NOT pronounced How-ston) is too ingrained in me I think. LOL
