Who knows where Fidelio is?

Fidelio from the United States was one of the pianists at the Dueling Pianos on the Disney Magic -

His last appearance was in April 2003 - the "Fidelio Fan Club" is searching for him and if you can shed any light on this search, we would be appreciative!

I loved Fidelio too! When I was on the Magic in January he was dueling with Jeff. They were both great....but Fidelio will be sadly missed as I have heard that he is gone for good. The Magic is a little less magic now....

I know Fidelio originated from the NY area and had a house in Florida. The "Disney Police" had been giving him alot of grief on board, saying he was too bold in his humor. He is the one that told me about the revamping of the ESPN Sport Bar into a Teen Club and putting a "Cheers" like sports bar into the Dueling Piano's area. He requested I write a letter to the Cruise Director which I did when I returned home. I am just hoping he is on vacation or maybe entertaining on the Wonder for awhile. But I too am a HUGE Fidelio fan and will miss him. I will never forget how kind he was in giving a few of us a private show by extending his last night and playing additional 1 1/2 for us. I got his e-mail address and lost it, damn. But I do have an address for a friend who just got hired on the Magic as a food server. I will e-mail him and see what I can find out.

Fidelio did that for us the last night on our cruise too - said he couldn't help it if we walked in while he was "practicing". He is a tremendous talent. I wrote directly to DCL president when I retruned and expressed my feeling about him and DP. I sure hope we find him so we can let him know who much we appreciate him and will miss him.

His humor was extremly bold, but that was part of what made him so great to watch. He was very aware of when to cut the adult humor. On the 1/25/03 cruise, during one of his shows, he was getting very raunchy, but as soon as he saw a young couple approaching, he cleaned up the same tune. It was amazing to watch this, he never missed a beat. He knew his audience and what was appropriate.

I hope someone will find out where he is.

I knew what Fidelio's last name was, so yesterday, I did an internet search through classmates.com and some other search engines. No luck. Fidelio told us that he was trying to get a gig at Foxwoods, but I have not seen anything that indicates he has booked a date there as yet. There is a Richard Collachi in Florida, maybe they are related? I have Jeff's email address through classmates and I also have his home address in Florida (he gave it to me on our January cruise), maybe I can send him a note asking if they are going to be working together somewhere else?

We enjoyed Fidelio with Laura on the February 8th Eastern cruise. He is a real talent and we'll miss him. He told us he might try to get work on another cruise line but did not say which one.

Also, he wanted to play late for us on our last night but said he was already in trouble for going against Disney Policy. I always thought Disney policy was going the extra mile for the guests, not "OK, times up, you gotta go!!!" Especially on the last night when your having fun with your new friends.

I was afraid you'd want to cancel your cruise with the news of Fidelio's moving on. How cool would that be if he were up north here somewhere???? We'd definitely have to plan a reunion and shock the heck out of him. Foxwood's huh? Within striking distance for you, Gail, Annie, Randy, Wayne and I!!!

Wherever he is, when we find him we should consider a reunion of his DCL fans. Let him know how much we appreciated him. I know I would love to hear him play again. He was one of several reasons I decided to take another cruise this year. May have to reconsider if I find he is on another cruise line.

People always have "roots" where they left and since he's from NY - and has a unique name...well, that's a start!

I've been searching as others have for Fidelio. I tried People search, Ancestry, Classmates, Property Search and no luck. Do you think his first name is really Fidelio? I don't think it would matter, because there weren't many hits on the last name nation wide and it's not a common last name. Has anyone tried to EM DCL direct with the inquiry?

I've tried other CM's on the Magic but he seens to have "disappeared" - you just never know....but if we keep our Mouse Ears open, we might just find out...someday!

The search ends when we get to hear him again!
