Hey there, hi there, ho there!!!

So, is Olivia's breakfast good?
Is Old Key West worth taking the bus ride to see?? I have never been & looking for something new!

We haven't been for breakfast. We went for dinner and the Waiter there was the best of our whole trip! It certainly made a good impression on us. He did magic tricks for both of my boys and made my husband a big bow out of his napkin. When he brought our dessert he brought 5 spoons from really little to a massive serving spoon and let my five year old choose his favorite (of course he chose the serving spoon and proceeded to eat his sundae. For dinner I had the coconut mahi mahi it was awful and I couldn't eat it. He offered to get me something else but I wasn't that hungry and wasn't too worried about it. My hubby got a steak which he said he really liked. Good luck with breakfast I thought the resort was beautiful!

I haven't eaten at Olivias, but we have stayed at the resort. It is very beautiful, but spread out. It looks like a typical key west village. Lake and golf course are pretty and the pool is nice. All the staff we dealt with were super. We would be staying there next May except I got us into Animal Kingdom. :cool1:

we ate dinner and breakfast at olivia's in feb. Waiter was great. Dinner wasn't as good as the waiter. They were very accomodating but we had the steak and it wasn't very good. We went for breakfast and it was great. quick, hot and fresh. my dd had ordered a fruit tray with yogurt and it was all fresh fruit and it was enough for us all to share with our meals.

OK food, good service, nice place to visit if you don't have anything else to do.

1) Olivia's used to be a hidden gem with GREAT food.
2) Now, they are just average.
3) Due to DDP, many unique menus items have been eliminated or standardized.
4) However, they do have a decent breakfast.

We stayed at OKW last year and are returning this year. Very nice resort, although I am sure there are others out there that are "more tourist friendly". We stayed there because it seemed to be the least "themed". What I mean is, I LOVE Disney, but when I come back to the hotel, I don't want the theming. I want it to be quiet, relaxing, nice place to relax. Being themed like Key West, it just seems like a nice resort.

We had a DOWNPOUR last year on our way back to the parks for dinner, so we ended up at Olivia's instead of getting on the busses. Fantastic waiter, really good food. I absolutely adore this resort!

When we stayed at OKW we had breakfast at Olivias and it was excellent but I would not travel out of my way for it

We had breakfast at Olivia's twice during our vacation last month (I don't normally do breakfast) and loved it. I had the Breakfast Grilled Cuban Sandwich with Breakfast Potatoes, which was absolutely delicious.

I've only been to Olivia's for dinner and it's great! We've been staying at OKW for the past 3 years and love it. It's really a beautiful Resort.

We just stayed at OKW and ate at Olivia's for lunch.

I agree on the Cuban Sandwich...very good.

I agree on the Waiter (we had Joe)..very fun.

I agree that all Disney food has suffered with the dining plan, but this place (and Captain's Grille at the Yacht club) seem to be holding their own.
Olivia's was the best of our trip for desserts. The manager said that the key lime tart is housemade fresh (that is rare at Disney). The banana bread sundae was also really good. But the key lime tart was amazing.

The restaurant is also pretty quiet, which is nice.

I think that the steaks all over Disney are an issue due to the dining plan, but also due to the steak knives. The steak knives have less teeth on them than the butter knives (not kidding at all). So, using these steak knives makes you have to fight with the steak and gives the illusion of a bad piece of meat as well as making it tear instead of slice and that causes the grain to seem tough as well.

At the Captain's Grille, they went next door to the Yachtsman steak house and got a real steak knife. Made all the difference.

Thank you for the ideas1 We have got it booked! We will be in WDW for 2 weeks so we need soe different things to do. Breakfast it is! Thanks everyone!! A little quiet in WDW is not such a bad thing for us b/c we r two 27 year old celebrating our 2nd year!! we did get the Dining plan but I think we will just pay for this everything is under $15!! I checked out that all ears & I'm in!! I'm looking forward to seeing the resort more than anything!

We think the breakfast at Olivia's is terrific. The omelets are great, but they also have all the other traditional breakfast foods as well as banana French toast. We enjoy the ambience and the service is always wonderful. It can get crowded at busy times, but we've never felt the need to make ADRs.

It's not 5 star but it's quite good and has a nice family feel. It's always our first place to eat upon arrival when staying at OKW, tradition. We've never had a bad meal at Olivia's and you can typically get in without reservations. Great breakfast potatoes, excellent turkey sandwich and burger on the lunch menu.

Enjoy!
