Who Knew Refillable Mugs Could Cause So Much Drama? MARCH 2008

Loving your report still! Once again, I had some major catch up because of school. Can't wait to read more!

Sorry to hear about the Hat!

Those are really cute photos.

You always take the best pics:thumbsup2

So sad about your Mom's hat,:sad1: I hate losing stuff that can't be replaced.

Thanks you guys! Yes, that hat is greatly missed.

Love your trip report so far! We took our trip in Sept 08 and our next trip most likely will not be til 2010 sometime. so I'm reading the TR's and living vicariously through everyone else!

I like to live vicariously through other reports too. It helps to kindle my Disney flame between one trip and the next!

You had the strawberry tart!! I posted it in my Dining Report...it caused a bit of a stir. I hope you enjoyed it!

I will look at your Dining Report after this to find the bit about the strawberry tart. Actually I never tasted it but Kris seemed to like it.

Thanks so much, this is a great trip report!

Thanks! I feel loved.

I imagine school is really stressful at this point, right at the end. Well, at least summer is right around the corner!

Day 7 Pt. 1

We woke up early to participate in the Magic Kingdom’s extra magic hours. It was also part 2 of my refillable mug causing a bunch or drama. Yes, this is where you find out where my TR title comes from.

I was the last one out of the room that morning, on the way down the stairs mom asked me if I made sure I shut the door and I said yes.

On the way to the food court, once again, I realized I forgot my mug. I made the trek back to our room. When I got back, I was shocked to find that once again, the key was not working! Great, just great. I tried again and again but still, it would not work.

Suddenly, the lights inside our room went out. Sometimes we forgot to turn off our lights so I figured okay, I guess our light bulb burned out but then I saw the curtains move from the inside!!!!

I was freaking out, someone was in our room!!! Maybe I hadn’t shut the door properly on the way out! I almost started to cry. How could breaking and entering be happening right here in Disney? I called mom and she came back to the room while Kristina went to go tell the front desk to call security. I waited in front of our door. And waited. And waited still. When there are bad guys hiding in your room, time passes by so slowly.

I was thinking boy, mom sure is taking a long time to get here when I looked over the balcony and saw her standing on the floor below.

Hmm, that’s strange. Why was mom standing down stairs?

And then it hit me.

I was on the WRONG FLOOR.

Oops!

So yeah, mom was HELLA pissed.

Not only had I tried to open the wrong room again, this time I probably freaked out the people who’s room I was trying to get into! I WAS THE DISNEY BURGLAR!

I wonder if they too called security or if they just thought I was just another one of those ditsy girls at the wrong room again.

Mom’s complaining about my being ditsy and irresponsible was nonstop all the way to the lobby. Understandable though.

When I told the front desk people they didn’t have to send the security, they gave me a funny look that said stupid tourist! Understandable. I guess it really is true what I have heard many cast members complain about. People come to Disney and leave their brains at home!

More complaining ensued on the bus ride to the Magic Kingdom. Aside from the regular blah blah so ditsy blah blah think Kellie blah blah, mom also wondered what exactly was I doing, just standing in front of our supposed room? Especially if there were burglars in there? Possibly with weapons?

My answer?

“I wanted to stop the bad guys from stealing our stuff.”

You know, because since the bad guys knew that I was standing right outside the door, the best thing for them to do was to stay in the room and hide under the beds, as opposed to getting the hell out of there and possibly hurting or abducting me along the way. Nope! Hiding under the bed in the dark was the smart thing to do!

It seemed logical at the time.

So yes, (understandable but irritating nonetheless) complaining ensued, blah blah could have been killed blah blah so you care more about losing your stuff than your own life blah blah, and finally we made it to the Magic Kingdom where the sounds of the little morning show drowned out my mom.

Me

SA700387.jpg

Me

SA700413.jpg

And me yet again. This is my favorite picture of me from the whole entire trip.

We decided to hit Fantasyland first. Kristina rode the teacups, Dumbo, and the carousel while mom and I just watched. I don’t know why I didn’t ride also, I guess I was just feeling bad about that morning’s fiasco.

SA700402.jpg

What'll I do? What'll I do? What an unusual view!

SA700408.jpg

Mom looks really interested in her hand here.

SA700405.jpg

I like the way this picture turned out.

After Fantasyland, we rode Splash Mountain. It was alright. I didn’t get that wet so that was good.

SA700415.jpg

How do you do?

SA700419.jpg

I look like I was throwing up over the edge or something

SA700421.jpg

Wait, if mom's shirt is here, and mom's body is there...then that means...:rolleyes1

Next we rode Big Thunder Mountain. At the exit of the ride, we got lucky! The dream squad was standing there handing out Magical Fast Passes! That was sooo awesome. I never win anything! For the rest of the day, I felt really important, carrying around that Magical Fast Pass. Kristina actually suggested wearing it the next day, just to preserve that feeling of being important.

SA700424.jpg

Great update! Sorry about the "room snafu"...I would have been freaked out too. But I'm glad it was just a snafu and that it wasn't your room..

WTG on winning the dream fastpasses!

Glad your day turned around from "nightmare" of someone breaking into your room to "dream" fastpasses! I always wanted to win that but we never won a thing during the million dreams.

That sounds like a bad way to start a day, but at least now you have a funny story to tell. I guess it is funny to you now. It would be to me. We won dream fastpasses at MK in December. Such a great prize. We got to ride everything and would not have been able to ride much without them because it was do busy.

Oops!

So yeah, mom was HELLA pissed.

Not only had I tried to open the wrong room again, this time I probably freaked out the people who’s room I was trying to get into! I WAS THE DISNEY BURGLAR!

I was literally laughing out loud. :happytv: My mom came into my room to ask me what so funny about my studying (they think I'm studying for finals right now...:rolleyes1). Oh wow. That is too funny!!! :rotfl2:
Okay, I'm done laughing. I've got a really similar picture of me and my brother in the Dumbo thing from two years ago! Loving the report still and can't wait to here more!

Wow at the wrong room thing. I probably would have curled up and died from the laughter I would have had.

And that is so cool on winning the Dream Fast Passes:banana::banana:

The coveted Dream Fast Pass.

The only thing that trumps that is a night in the castle. That might work out well for you as there is only ONE room in the castle so you wouldn't get confused.:lmao:

You need to remind your family that if you hadn't delayed them with the whole wrong room fiasco you would not have been at the right place at the right time to get dream fast passes. Everything happens for a reason ;)

I'm in! I'm in! :yay: I know I'm a little late, but I love your trip report so far! :thumbsup2popcorn::

Sorry to hear about your non-win. In some way, I think the YOAMD was not the greatest in the sense that if you left the park w/o running into the Dream Squad, you felt kind of let down.

My mom does the same thing to me whenever I start laughing about something on the internet. Whenever I show her what it was I was laughing at though normally it's something dumb and she just rolls her eyes.

Day 7 Pt. 2

Kris and I did Aladdin's Magic Carpets next. That was a really cool ride. Only thing was that it was drizzling so the insides of the carpet was wet. I'm a bit strange and I have this mild phobia of wet confined spaces. Not confined spaces, just WET confined spaces. I don't know, I just feel really dirty and unclean for some reason, all the moistness makes me feel really uncomfortable. Like all the germs are going to climb all over me. Crazy I know but it is what it is. Damn you germo-phobia! I should go on the Maury show when they have those segments where people are afraid of weird things, like the woman who was afraid of cotton, or the woman who was afraid of foil, or the man who was afraid of peaches.

SA700437.jpg

Shining, shimmering, splendid! Or not.

SA700435.jpg

Over, sideways, and under!

SA700436.jpg

Boo to wet confined spaces!

I think we did Jungle Cruise next. All I can remember was that our skipper was really cute and really funny. When that was over, we rode the Liberty Bell Riverboat. There were not many people on it so it was a very peaceful ride.

SA700438.jpg

SA700439.jpg

SA700443.jpg

SA700441.jpg

After that I don't really remember what we did. We probably rode Peter Pan, Small World, and saw Philharmagic again. At some point in time we also ran into the Fairy Godmother so that was cool.

SA700450.jpg

The thing-a-ma-bob that does the job, is bibbiti-bobbiti-boo...

I know we also saw the Disney Dreams Come True Parade again. We also ate lunch but I can't remember where. I probably had a chicken nuggets kids meal though. I had A LOT of chicken nuggets on this trip. I love them!

SA700455.jpg

...Come and share the enchantment and magic, of Disney Dreams Come True...

SA700457.jpg

...Where teacups are dancing, and brooms are entrancing...

SA700459.jpg

...Discover the magic inside your heart, hear it calling you to play...

SA700460.jpg

...Where pixie dust is just a start...

SA700461.jpg

...Hop aboard a magic carpet ride...

SA700464.jpg

...Just believe and if you imagine...

SA700467.jpg

...Just believe and your dreams will come true...

After lunch, we shopped for a bit. Kris wanted to see if she could still fit the largest size of the kids' princess costumes. Lo and behold, they actually fit...sort of! I wanted her to try on all of em but we could only find XL dresses for Ariel, Aurora, and Belle. Much to her disappointment, the Ariel costume fit worst of all. It made her chest area look huge in a bad way.

SA700476.jpg

This one fit the best out of the three.

SA700478.jpg

Can't really tell by the way she is standing but it fits her chest area horribly.

SA700482.jpg

After this there were no more XL dresses.

If anyone is interested, I actually filmed my sister trying on the dresses. She does a crazy mini dance at one point that I find hilarious. Here is the youtube link:

When the shopping was through, Kris wanted to do Stitches Great Escape. I really wasn't looking forward to it, I honestly really don't care much for Stitch but we had the Fast Pass so why not? I didn't care for it, it's predecessor Alien Encounter was a much better ride. Skippy, the little fuzzy alien in the beginning was so cute, I felt so sad when the fried him! I also remember one part of the ride where the alien is stomping about and the pilots say something like "don't scream" and then the alien roars and everyone screams and the pilot guy is like "I told you not to scream!" (Wow, run on sentence much?)

skippy.jpg

Skippy...pre-fried.

During the part where Stitch was bouncing on our shoulders, I remember thinking ouch, and hoping that mom wouldn't come out sore. She has a bad back and I thought maybe this would aggravate it somehow. Also, his chili dog burp was just terrible. Ugh!

After that ride, we did Buzz Lightyear. Nothing eventful ensued. I think we did Space Mountain and Thunder Mountain, at least, Kris and I did anyway. I am looking at mom's Magical Fast Pass and her tags for those rides are still attatched.

Pirates of the Caribbean came next. It was good but not as good as Disneyland's version for some reason but I can't figure out why. It just wasn't. It was really neat to see how they incorporated Jack Sparrow into the ride though. I was a little afraid that his addition would ruin the ride but it wasn't bad at all!

We re-rode Jungle Cruise after that. Someone standing near us in the line whispered to whoever with they were with and pointed at our Magical Fast Passes and I felt like a V.I.P.

After Jungle Cruise, it started to rain. Not by the buckets, but still, it was a pretty good rain. Mom sat under some covering while Kris and I threw on our ponchos and went to Splash Mountain. Despite the poncho, I got pretty darn wet at the drop. I realized a little later that there was a hole in my poncho. Ugh! Mom told me to go buy a new poncho but I am really cheap and didn't want to fork out $8.00 for a new one so I just walked around while the water came through the hole. How much longer could it rain anyway? From my (near nonexistent) knowledge of Florida rain patterns, it might rain heavily but never for very long.

Heh.

SA700490.jpg

Ugh

We all had a craving for soft serve ice cream for some reason so we set out to find it. First we tried Adventureland but we couldn't find anything. We thought there was soft serve on Main Street so we headed back that way, all the while, the rain kept coming in through the hole in my poncho. It tuned out that all Main Street had was the regular ice cream or those Mickey Bars. Those are good and all but we had our hearts set on soft serve. We trekked over to Tomorrowland and finally we found someplace that had soft serve ice cream. Yay! I had plain vanilla and I think Kris and mom had their's topped with something but I don't remember what. I wish I had gotten a picture.

We decided to try to wait out the rain in the Carousel of Progress. On the way there, I realized that my hat was missing. I looked in my bag and it wasn't there! Mom was pissed. Already I had lost two pairs of sunglasses...

What? I didn't talk about the sunglasses earlier? Whoops! Well let me talk about it here. BACKTRACK!!!!

So before we left for Florida, I packed two pairs of sunglasses. If one pair got lost, then at least I would have the other pair as a backup. When we arrived at All Star Music, I put both pairs of sunglasses out on the table so I could switch back and forth if I wanted to.

On the morning of Day 4, our first day at Epcot, my initial pair of sunglasses was nowhere to be found. When I go indoors, Instead of putting my sunglasses away, I usually just have them sitting right on top of my head. It's easier that way. Unfortunately, sometimes the glasses would fall right off of my head. I figured that is what had happened, no biggie, I still had my other pair.

Sometime during the afternoon of Day 4, we were in Mouse Gear. I distinctly remember laying my sunglasses on the shelf while I tried on some hats. I ended up forgetting about it and not realizing it for about 10 minutes. When I went back to the hat area to see if my sunglasses were still there, they were not. I guess I could have asked the cashiers if anyone had turned anything in but I just didn't think to do so. Ah well. When we went back to the hotel that evening, I ended up buying a new pair of sunglasses. Thankfully I am not the type of person to buy expensive brand name sunglasses, I am more of a $20 sunglass kind of person.

Anyway back to the story. So yeah, there we were on our way to the Carousel of Progress and I had lost my hat and mom was mad about it. I don't think she would have been as mad if I hadn't caused a fiasco at the hotel that morning but this was just icing on the cake. Irresponsible two times in one day! Complaining ensued. Again, understandable complaining, but complaining nonetheless.

During the middle of the show, I reached into my bag to grab a tissue. Lo and behold, there was my hat! The bag that I was using had multiple compartments and that was the one compartment I had forgotten to check. Oops! I showed the hat to mom and she kind of gave me a half smile and rolled her eyes. When the show was over and we were outside, mom and I told Kristina that she had to be the responsible one now because we were both prone to screwing things up, me with the hat, glasses, and mug mishaps, and her with the loosing of the BEST HAT EVER and the brand new T-Shirt.

It was still raining and we weren't sure what to do next. Mom got tired of seeing me walk around all miserable-like with a broken poncho and ended up buying me a new one. She laughed and called me a cheapskate for not shelling out the $8 for protection from the rain. It's true, I am very cheap! I must admit, not having the rain fall on me was quite nice.

After that, we decided to ride the train for a while. It was relaxing. Nothing eventful ensued. After the train, we browsed around Main Street for a bit and then sat down to watch Spectromagic again. The sidewalk was wet so I sat on my old poncho. At least it came in handy for something!

SA700495.jpg

On the train.

SA700484.jpg

Sometime during the day I found one of the few items that had Mulan on it.

When we got back to the hotel, I bought a cup of apple slices with caramel dipping sauce. Also, since the next day was Easter Sunday, the maids left us a little towel Easter Bunny which I named "Egg Baby." He was sooooooo cute!!!!!!!

SA700495.jpg

Awww!

SA700497.jpg

it was soooo cute!

:thumbsup2Great update, I love the egg baby bunny.

Is it just me or did that Fairy Godmother look like a man in drag? I'm just saying....

Great update. I am glad you found your hat. I always loose things at DW. Your pictures were great and so were your captions. It was like watching a movie with subtitles.

Yay for the found hat. That's the problem with all those multi-pocketed park bags. Too many pockets to search in. I know I've done that same thing before. Only not with a hat. I don't like hats or sunglasses for that case. It cuts down on the chance of losing them if you don't even take them.

Love all your parade pictures.

It sounded like a full day. You must have been zonked.

Hey folks, sorry for the delay. No I am not dead, life got in the way.

Alright that's a lie. Actually the Sims 3 got in the way. I bought it the day it came out and have been hooked since then. My day consists of me comming home from work and then playing the Sims until bed time. I shall post an update when I get home later tonight.

**from this point on, you will notice that there aren't as many pictures. I just didn't really remember to take them, I was so engrossed in the parks. Ah well.

March 23, 2008

Today was Easter Sunday, and also the day we went to MGM...err...Hollywood Studios. I will never get used to that!

100_0408.jpg

When we got to the park, it was crowded but not unusually crowded. I was expecting it to be pretty bad due to the holiday. Maybe the Magic Kingdom was unusually crowded?

100_0409.jpg

100_0410.jpg

As promised, I rode the Tower of Terror with Kristina. The pre-show was good but the actual ride was just eh. I hate the feeling of flying out of your seat. I wish I could have seen the ride photo but for some reason, the machines were down.

Next, Kris and I rode Rockin Rollercoaster. Loved loved loved that ride, especially since this time I could actually see all the "sights" we were "driving by." On our last trip, I didn't have contact lenses yet so when I took off my glasses, I couldn't see anything. With Kris, it was quite the opposite. This time she had glasses so she couldn't see! Oh well.

100_0412.jpg

We wanted good seats for Beauty and the Beast so we sat down pretty early. The show was very good. I had a hard time not singing along. One of the dancers had shoes in the most beautiful shade of kelly green.

100_0413.jpg

In front of some store window

100_0415.jpg

Taken in some gift shop somewhere

We went over to One Man's Dream next. There was a large picture of I think a 19ish year old Walt Disney that I wish I had taken a picture of because he was pretty cute. Haha! The show was good too, very interesting.

Next we saw Voyage of the Little Mermaid. While standing in line, some man randomly cheered to his children, "one two three four, pick a bale of cotton HEY!!!" I'm not sure why that stuck with me but it did.

100_0416.jpg

As for the show, the singing was good but mostly I felt let down. The show was waaaay too short. Beauty and the Beast was short too but this seemed extra short. I felt like they cheated by incorporating clips from the actual movie. Kristina said that she didn't like the actress who played Ariel because she didn't sound like Jodi Benson, the original voice of Ariel. Don't get me wrong, she was a great singer but to Kristina, who's favorite character is Ariel, anyone else who sings Part of Your World is just sub-par. Kris was also bummed when she found that the gift shop at the end of the show didn't really have any Ariel merchandise...just the regular old princess stuff you saw everywhere else. She had been hoping to score an Ariel shirt. We figured Hollywood Studios would be the place that would carry it because of the show but alas, there was nothing.

Next we did the Back Lot Tour, the Great Movie Ride, and Muppets. All were great but nothing worth taking notes on ensued. We ended up with a cowgirl who took over our car on the Great Movie ride.

100_0437.jpg

That shirt was soooo cute! I almost bought it even though I'm not that big of a Star Wars fan.

100_0433.jpg

Why does it always have to be snakes?

We had an early dinner at Hollywood and Vine as part of the Fantasmic Dinner Package. I didn't really eat too much of the actual food, just chicken nuggets. I had a lot of dessert though. A LOT of dessert. Cheesecake, soft serve, chocolate-coconut bars, wow, I feel guilty just thinking about it! I was really hungry, the only thing I had to eat so far was one Chewy Bar in the morning so I was starving. Ugh, I hate buffets, I have no self control.

After dinner, mom made a comment on how we hardly took any pictures that day. Ironically within 15 minutes of that comment, a bunch of characters came out! We got photos with Belle, the Evil Queen, and Aladdin. We almost got a photo with Marry Poppins but we were too late.

100_0418.jpg

100_0422.jpg

100_0421.jpg

100_0420.jpg

Wow, this is a really short Belle! I am only 5'2 but Belle is just my height. I thought that princess characters had a height requirement of 5'6? How did this one slip past casting?

After some food, we did Sounds Dangerous. The sound stage was practically empty. I still thought the attraction was pretty cool though. There was a little area at the exit of the ride where you could create movie sound effects or whatever and even perform some voice overs. We had fun doing that for a while.

100_0423.jpg

Hooray for Walt Disney!

100_0440.jpg

After some shopping, we went to go sit down for Fantasmic. For some reason, there were a lot of tiny flying bugs in the seating area. It was so gross! I don't know if they came from the water or from the grates on the sidewalk or what. It was just really really nasty. I ended up putting my hat on, zipping up my jacket all the way, and even putting on my sunglasses because I did not want those bugs to touch me! Once the show started though, the bugs all seemed to disappear.

100_0442.jpg

Sunglasses, hats, and zipped jackets with the hoods on is how the cool kids wait for Fantasmic.

The show was excellent. I even teared a little bit in the beginning. There was a little kid sitting in front of me who made me laugh. When mist started to hit the audience, he flailed his arms about and said "I can't get wet! I'm too famous!" At the ending of the show when all the characters were dancing on the boat, I cheered really loudly for Mulan. Haha, what a Disney nerd! Oh well.

100_0474.jpg

I leave you with a picture of some kid's shirt that my sister almost bought even though it didn't fit. She loves Ariel!

:thumbsup2Great update, I've almost bought that Yoda shirt myself a few times as I'm also 5'2", maybe next trip.

Just a tip for Rock & Roller Coaster, I always wear my glasses & never had a problem. The only time I didn't wear them was after they broke when I was wiping water off of them during Fantasmic:scared1:I had to wear contacts for the rest of the trip.

Looking forward to reading more of your adventures.popcorn::
