Who knew choking each other would earn us fastpasses?

After our meal, we were off to do more wandering. :sad2: I don't remember what we were doing or who John was waiting on but here he is sitting right about the same spot Hunter and I had sat earlier in the day:

It's been a while since I posted my Magic Kingdom day but ya'll may remember me taking a picture of the guy wearing Mickey ears and carrying a purse. Well, just as I was snapping a picture of John, here comes a guy wearing knee high orthopedic socks and sandals. I looked down so I wouldn't laugh. And, I swear to you that I didn't mean to snap this next picture. I was fiddling with my camera and thought I was looking at past pictures when my camera flashed.

Of course, being the good Diser that I am, I didn't delete the picture so I could post it here.:rolleyes1

Mama hadn't been to Hollywood Studios in 10 years so a lot had changed. The last time she went, the Backlot Tour still included going through the neighborhood that housed Ernest and the Golden Girls. Since the rest of us had walked around the Streets of America and taken our picture, we wanted to get one of Mama as well.

First, Hunter had to make a run to the subway station:

****Well, shoot, shoot, shoot! I know I uploaded more Hollywood Studios pictures but Photobucket isn't showing any more. I was hoping to get more updatest posted today. Guess that ain't happenin'.:headache:

Great update! I agree about the HS restaurants. We're doing 50s Prime Time Cafe for lunch but are going over to Cape May for dinner on our next trip. Finding a good CS seems even more difficult!

***Or it could be happenin' because I just found a few more pictures. Not all of my Hollywood Studios pics but enough for me to write a little more.

Hunter was catching a Subway:

And, Mama's "Hey everybody, I'm on the Streets of America!" picture:

We knew we wanted to take Mama on The Great Movie Ride so we walked past/through Pixar Place. There was no need to even see how long the wait time was because the line was way outside the building. Too bad because Mama loves Toy Story so I know she'd enjoy Toy Story Mania. Next time.

SANY2988.jpg

We reached The Great Movie Ride but stopped to look at all the handprints:

As you have probably already figured out, there were hardly any people going into the attraction so we were able to take our time and really look at all the footprints and handprints. We walked into the building and there was no line at all. I took a picture of the cool light fixture:

SANY2997.jpg

Here's Hunter doing his signature "bow chicka bow bow" move:

SANY2998.jpg

We walked all the way down to the front of the theater and straight into the loading area. I fiddled with the settings on my camera and snapped another one of these pictures by mistake:

And, another crappy picture in the Wizard of Oz scene:

Why do I even try?:sad2:

We came out of The Great Movie Ride and we instantly heard music. Cool 80s/early 90s music! I followed the music to the front of the hat and found Mulch, Sweat and Shears. Oh my gosh....I was in musical heaven! They played so many songs that John and I used to listen to. I thought I was going to show my age but then I looked around and almost everybody in the crowd was signing along and clapping their hands and dancing. Age be damned!, I felt like a teenager again!

Wanna get down with the boogie? Listen to this clip of Mulch, Sweat and Shears:

And, then, dun dun dun.....my darned camera battery died! But, just on that one camera. I had a backup camera, thankfully!

We stood and listened to the rest of the concert and then headed towards the Hollywood Hills theater since we were to see the last showing of Fantasmic.

***Up next.....I PROMISE....choking!

Great update! I agree about the HS restaurants. We're doing 50s Prime Time Cafe for lunch but are going over to Cape May for dinner on our next trip. Finding a good CS seems even more difficult!

We enjoyed our meal at 50s Prime Time Cafe when we ate there in 2009 and are actually thinking about eating there again next trip. Is it difficult to go from HS to the Beach Club? That's another thing we are considering.

Great updates! I agree about the HS restaraunts though I have to confess we like Sci Fi because the kids sit in the front seat and are occupied by the movie. Then DH and I can just sit in the back seat and actually have conversation over dinner.

Oh, Lisa, I think I just snorted with that picture of the socks guy! I mean, okay, one pair of socks with sandals is bad enough, but two?!?!? Oh my!

Just a gross thought: I don't think I'd want to be in the room when he took off both pairs of socks. Ugh!

We have never eaten at Sci Fi. And after talking to Michael this weekend about our proposed next trip, I don't think we'll be trying it next. We may not spend too much time at Hollywood Studios. I really only would miss Toy Story and I really wouldn't miss the chaos that is rope drop TO Toy Story Mania.

Great update, though! We've missed Fantasmic the past 3 times (can that be true?) at Disney and I'm going to relive it with your next update, so make it good! LOL

Lisa, great update. I love mama's picture on the Streets! She looks so darn cute.

Sorry you didn't enjoy Sci Fi so much. We really enjoyed it last year. Mark loved his reuben (said it was as good as The Plaza), NI love the onon rings and I always get the burger (after reading the DIS I knew not to order anything but a burger or the reuben).

Ooh, I can't believe I'm coming out of lurkerdom just to be a smartypants.
First, though, I have to say I love your TR's, Lisa! I started reading your last one because I am trying to convince myself I will love CBR when we go next year, and I had read somewhere that you had lots of pics of it in your TR. I finished that one and immediately came over to this one because I love love love your writing! I am finally caught up, too, and don't have to skip over the chatty parts any more! Okay, now for the guy with the socks...I agree he looks ridiculous. But when you are paying hundreds of dollars for compression stockings for medical reasons, you can't skip them, even for a day. And you have to wear another pair of socks over them, because your shoes will rub and catch on the stockings and ruin them. However, I personally buy beige stockings, and would never bother to wear sandals with them, that would just be silly. :rolleyes1

We've always enjoyed the Sci-Fi but this time it was just "okay". I like your way of thinking!

We've always liked Sci-Fi but this time it just didn't taste as good as years past. But, we wanted to show Mama the restaurant and we had a good meal together.

Ummmmm....I just looked at my Fantasmic pictures and I don't think you're gonna be too impressed.

I loved the picture of Mama too. John loves a Reuben sandwich and said the one at the Sci-Fi was just as good as before.

Oh you're not being a smarty pants at all! I am glad that you came out of lurkdome too.

I guess what threw me off was the compression socks, another pair of socks and then sandals. I hate socks with sandals.

Hope you'll continue to post as I love to hear from my readers....even if they are smarty pants. Just kidding!:lmao:

I found the rest of my Hollywood Studios pictures and I'm uploading them to Photobucket now. Hopefully, I can get the last of our HS day posted soon.

How, oh how did I get so far behind????:sad2: The last thing I remember was your visit with the one Star Wars person and lo and behold, there's like 6 more updates!!:scared1:

I'm so sorry, I'm a bad DISer..... Anyhoo, I'm glad you posted about your Sci-Fi Dining experience. I have heard many bad reviews about this restaurant, and perhaps thought we'd give it a try for our April trip, but, alas, I don't think it'll be on the list. Also, I LOVED the homemade Bobba Fett costume that little boy had!:thumbsup2 I wonder what the actor thought of it?

As always great update!!! I love your trip reports..you and your family crack me up...they remind me so much of my family :)

You are definitely not a bad Diser. It seems like I can't get caught up with anything lately...much less the Disboards.

I wouldn't describe the Sci-Fi as a bad restaurant. It just wasn't as good as previous years. If you do decide to go, skip the steak though.

We tried to hear what the guy said about the little boy's costume, but the two girls in front of us were talking and we couldn't hear.

Hey girl! I thought about you last Friday because we were in your neck of the woods. We went to the Bass Pro Black Friday sale, Ellis Pottery and a fabric shop.

You're going to be in Disney before you know it!

Would you believe that John is the one who actually suggested we go Black Friday shopping?!?!?! He wanted the $9.94 Red Head jeans that Bass Pro had on sale. We got six pair of jeans, a hoodie, a set of 6 flashlights, two spatulas, two 2 piece knife sets and a tent pole repair kit for just $105. I couldn't believe it.

You can make a new ticker. They have a link here on the Dis. The link is about two inches down from the top and a little right of the middle of the page. Create your ticker and then go to User CP and you'll see Edit Signature. Click that and then paste your new ticker link. Of course, you'll have to erase the old one first.
