Who knew choking each other would earn us fastpasses?

Great updates---I was two behind!

That Hunter has Mama wrapped around his finger, doesn't he? She loves him a lot!

Great update! I liked your fish pictures. I admit we didn't hang around and look at the fish much at all this year. And I agree with the prev. poster - John looks like he's missing a leg! Loved the Bruce comment!

Good luck with the baby bird! :goodvibes I know we tried to help a little one that fell out of the nest when we were little...let's just say I hope you have better luck! It sounds like the one in your care right now might be quite a bit older than the one we found, though!

Great update Lisa! Love the fish pics. I think your Mama and Hunter are so cute together. Love the pic of them looking at the fish together.

You are a much better sport about the phone than Joe is. I can feeling him piercing me with his eyes when I answer a work call. :lmao:

Congrats on the newest member of your family. Hope you find some things to feed the poor little fella.

Goodluck with the bird. I wonder if he'll make it? My friend is good at nursing animals like that too, ....Me I look at them and they die. LOL!

Lisa, I followed you on all your TRs an they never disappoint. Im glad your mom got to go on the trip. It must a been soo much fun having a new guest to your Magical Vacation. Also good luck with FLik

This is a non-Disney update. We are now the surrogate parents of a baby bird. John has been working out of town (on my aunt's house) and when he got home this evening, he and Hunter went swimming. I lounged on the porch swing, read a Southern Living magazine, watched the hummingbirds drink from my feeder and all the while Oddball lay underneath the swing.

I told John that I kept hearing a rustling sound but I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. He got out of the pool and we both searched for what was making the sound. We never did find it so we checked on our two little watermelons and three canteloupes (spelling?) We also picked a few tomatoes and cucumbers and six ears of corn.

Sorry......you know me and details. Anyway, we were standing under the carport and John was leaning against the back of the truck. I looked in the back of the truck and there was a little bitty bird. He had feathers but some of them are downy looking. He was just sitting there on a stick of wood John had in the back of the truck. We figured this was what was making the rustling sound because he can fly just a little bit. Not much though and it's pretty floppy when it tries.

John said he parks his truck underneath a tree in my aunt's yard. We're guessing the bird fell from the tree and into the back of the truck. Poor little thing rode about 45 miles to our house. I am sure he was one scared little bird.

Anyway, we have him all tucked away in a shoe box which has been turned into a nest. He wouldn't eat a bit of disected cricket we tried to feed him. He did drink some sugar water from a dropper though. I think I'll go to the pet store tomorrow and see if they can tell me what I need to get to feed him/her.

Of course, we had to give the bird a name. Every pet that we have ever owned had a Disney name. After bouncing around a couple of names, we decided on Flik.

So, as if we didnt' already have enough stuff to take care of around here, I guess a birdie has been added to the mix
.

My family rescued a baby robin once and were told to feed it dry dog food soaked in water mixed with baby cereal. We feed the bird with one of those baby medicine syrings(spelling) it worked really well and when the bird got big enough we feed it meal worms from the pet store.

Hope this helps!:goodvibes

And how is Flik doing? We have so many nests in our trees in front of our house this year that it is unreal. We've had some wicked storms and I keep praying that those nests stay intact and nothing falls out of them.

Hope you had a great 4th of July weekend.

What a sad/sweet story about the bird. I hate to hear that the poor little bird had such a hard time of it, what with falling out of the tree and then the trip home. But it is so nice that he found a nice family like you all to take care of him! And I love the name Flik! So cute!

I remember that hot day in Epcot....it would beat my desk right now, though!

I just call it "the Seas" It's a mouthful to say it all anyway!

How's baby Flik?

Whew! all caught up! I can't stand getting behind on TR's so I put it off some more and than it takes a half hour to catch up:confused3...so, now let's see if I can remember what I wanted to comment on...:rolleyes1

First, I'm so happy to hear that your mom has decided to join you guys next year! she seems to be really enjoying her time with Hunter and you guys.

Second, congrats! to Lacey!!! and I'm sorry to hear that it will be Nov before you get to see her again...but, just think how special it will be (not that anytime you see her isn't special).

So, this year instead of Ginny following you everywhere you were being stalked by this Dana person...fun that you guys were able to run into one another through out your trip!

I love that your mom loved Soarin':thumbsup2
maybe you should ask the CM for the lower row (you know just so you can get a major glare from Hunter and John as you do it...:confused3 )
you have great pictures from The Seas....and yes I have a hard time not calling it the Living SEas!

looking forward to more popcorn::
Hope you guys are having a great summer so far...our started out busy and now with all the rain I try to find things to keep the little ones going...it's hard with three and not being able to just jump in the car and go off and find something to do!

:wave2: Connie

Happy July 6th everybody! It's not a holiday but I missed telling all of you Happy July 4th so I figured I could say Happy July 6th. Like I've said before, us McBride's aren't "normal".

Flik has flown the coop. We fixed him up a nice little nest in a shoe box and put him in our utility room. I fed him sugar water and he went fast asleep. The next day, we opened up the door to go outside and out he went. Guess all he needed was a little sustenance and rest.

I'm trying to organize more pictures so I can post an installment. I used two cameras on this trip so it's taking more time than usual.

I'm so glad to hear Flick recouperated. I wish a little sugar water and rest was I needed.

yeah for flik!!:cheer2:
Cant wait for you next installment. When will the choking begin?

Great update!

It is still NGO Studios for us. We took Isabella when she was almost two and that's what she called MGM, so we still call it that to this day.

We didn't spend a lot of time in, let me concentrate, The Seas with Nemo and Friends.

Geez, that was difficult. :lmao:

We did Turtle Talk and then watched the manatees for a while. Then, Isabella had to have her yearly picture in the shark mouth. And then we were outta there.

NGO Studios....that's so cute. We didn't even get a picture with everybody in the shark mouth this year because it was getting pretty busy.

Great pictures of the fish :thumbsup2. It was hotter than hot that day. I felt like I needed a shower after being out for about an hour. I was kinda surprised at the crowds this May. I guess I didn't pay much attention last May because I was always paying attention to the rain.

I do remember how hot it was that day! Like I said, I was sweatin' like a call girl in church!

Lisa, you got some really GREAT pictures of the fish (I agree that eel is yucky looking). As to the other, all I'm going to say is................

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

You're so funny!

I too thought the dun, dun, dun was going to be a pee thing! :lmao: Anyway. Great update! I still call it The Living Seas! I just can't seem to call it the other! LOL! I still call Disney Studios, MGM too! I'm not big on change, so it's kinda hard! LOL! Can't wait to hear about the DISmeet! Hope you have a great 4th of July weekend!

I just can't make myself not call it The Living Seas.

i love reading your trip report!!
and i think you should really consider staying at POFQ next year!
especially if your mama goes along. it's very small and the atmosphere is great.

Thank you so very much! I think we have decided to just go back to the CBR next year if Mama goes back with us. Right now, she's planning on it.

I am reading another TR (RachelNinja) and she just updated on The Living Seas today, too. Notice that I called it "The Living Seas" because I also have a hard time referring to it as The Seas with Nemo and Friends. Just like Hollywood Studios may forever in my mind remain MGM. I struggle!

I told Rachel that I remembered The Living Seas when I was younger as a ride where you rode through and looked at all of the aquariams from a moving train car. It's a vague and distant memory, so all of the details aren't vibrant in my mind, but I do remember when it was a ride. If you look at the floor, you can tell that it used to have something there, or at least I can!

Anyhoo, I loved the last update and all of the pictures of the fish. Too funny about DH getting yet another phone call! Does anyone need to tell him to leave the cell phone at home next time?

I remember when Hunter was really little, you got in one of the elevator things in the Living Seas and they crammed so many people in the little thing. I never did know if the elevator moved or if the bubbles just moved around you. I don't remember too well. I do know it wasn't one of Hunter's favorite things to do.

I deal pretty well with John getting phone calls while at Disney. Self-employment has it's perks and it's downfalls.

I thought the same thing!!!:rotfl:
Great Update!

Ya'll know me too well. Pee stops are very very frequent for me!

Traffic is HORRIBLE around Helen. I don't know why they haven't improved the road, but in all the years we went they never did. I was going to also suggest Amicalola, very nice and beautiful park. I've been to Pigeon Forge, just to go to Dollywood and I was a little disappointed. We had fun, but I guess after Disneyworld it's a bit of a letdown. We took my teenage nieces and nephew and they loved it though. Chattanooga has a lot of cool things to do and would be an easier trip. The aquarium is definitely worth seeing if you never have.

Terri

We've sat in traffic for an hour just to get in Helen. We stay at the Hampton Inn which is a block off the main street so we can just walk to everything. But, still, we have to drive to get to Cleveland where Lacey lives.

We've pretty much prepared ourselves that if we go to Dollywood, it will be nothing like Disney. We went to Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri last Thanksgiving and it seems to be a lot like Dollywood. There's still a chance that we'll do something else though.
