Who knew choking each other would earn us fastpasses?

Great updates!!! I love your photos as always. :goodvibes

I read your last trip report . . . and the one before that . . . so I guess I ought to read this one too, huh?

Just teasing! Your family is so much fun! I can't wait to hear more!

Living with the Land is one of our very favorite rides. Go figure because I can't grow anything at all....no green thumb here!

Good for Mama....she's just proving to you she's still a spring chicken! :thumbsup2

Yay for Living with the Land! I love that little farmhouse scene, too! Besides the storm scene at the beginning, its my favorite! I'm so proud of your Mama! :goodvibes Does she know you're writing things like that about her in your TR? My Mom probably would hit me on the arm and tell me to quit writing about her! Hopefully, you'll eat close by at Sunshine Seasons so I can hear first hand how good it is.....

Sounds like a great start to your EPCOT day. I love the pic of your Mama and her reaction to the Beverly soda. It is so funny. She looks like she is thinking " what did you just do to me?". I'm glad she enjoyed Soarin' too. How fun!

P.S. I get a lot of calls, texts, and emails from work while we are at Disney and it drives Joe crazy. If I ignore them they just increase in frequency so it's best to answer them. I try to sneak and do it while we are in line for rides. He doesn't fuss to much if I do it then. :lmao:

I told Mama that the Beverly was nasty but she should taste of it. This was her reaction after just a little sip. Imagine if she had drank a whole cup of it.

John gets all sorts of calls all of the time. With him being self-employed, he pretty much has to answer the calls because you never know if it's potential clients calling.

Aww, Mama looks so cute in her pretty aqua top and her jewelry to match! I NEVER look that good at the parks - I go for comfortable and cool all the way! I'm glad you had a good start to the day. I usually don't get my crew up and going in time for rope drop, but they did it twice this last trip, and were soon after on most other days. It makes SO much difference in what you can see and do.

Hope y'all had a great Father's Day!

I'll have to tell Mama you said that. She is such a matchy matchy person. She was worried about her "denim" capris (which I don't think ever make an appearance in the trip report) having the gold/bronzy/browny colored stitching on them. She thought that meant she had to have a shirt that matched the stitching. :sad2: If she's wearing jewelry, it all has to match...right down to the rings she wears.

I hope ya'll had a good Father's Day too. We ended up swimming and grilling later on in the evening. It was nice to have some "down" time.

Get up HUNTER!! Don't you know you're at WDW and it's your first park day!! Good grief...kids. :rolleyes1 I practically JUMP out of bed when we're at WDW. :woohoo: It's a good thing he was up and ready in a timely fashion and you didn't have to "scold" him again! ;)

Ahhh....Epcot. How I love thee! Great job getting Soarin' FPs for the group! I'm so glad Mama enjoyed it. :thumbsup2

Tell me about it! He can sucker his Mamaw into letting him do anything.

Oh I love Epcot too! We always spend two days there.

Yay! So glad Mama wants to go back! And great job Mama on those moving platforms! LOL! Looks like she loved the Beverly! LOL! And so glad she loved Soarin’! Can’t wait for next update!

I know! I am so excited that she's excited about the possibility of going back!

Mama did so well on the moving platforms. She was quite proud of herself.

I am so with you on Soarin'! I'm terrified of heights and no matter how much I try to forget, I always am thinking "I am 30 feet above a concrete floor, I am 30 feet above a concrete floor."

:scared1::laughing:

I always try to ask if I can be in the 3rd row. It all depends on if the CM looks friendly or busy.

Well geeezzze. Thanks for putting that mental image in my head. Seriously, I try not to think too much about how high I am. Anything higher than the top of a one story room scares the bejeebers out of me.

So glad you made it to Epcot before the park opened. That is wonderful! Your mother looks so pretty with her matching jewelry! :goodvibes I am glad that she enjoyed Soarin' so much, too!!! I just loved your description of her first experience on this attraction. I've only done it once, but I can't wait to do it again!!!

I was proud that we made it to park opening. I couldn't believe it especially after I found Hunter still lazing around in the bed earlier that morning.

Mama loves to match up her jewelry and clothes. I guess that's where I get it from. I'm not quite as extreme with it as she is.

It makes me smile when I think about how Mama was laughing outloud while on Soarin'. I love her!

Your description of Mama enjoying Soarin and John's reaction to her brought a tear to my eye. I love when newbies love something at WDW as much as I do!

We took a girl from our church a couple of times to help with the kids. She had never been to any Disney park despite having grown-up in CA. Her first ride ever was Soarin. She loved it so much she said nothing at WDW would be able to come close to it. Later she realized Disney does everything great and she loved a ton of other rides just as much!

I know, I get teary thinking about it too. My Mama and John are tighter than tight. They are thistight and it shows.

Isn't it just the best watching someone at Disney who has never been. I am sure that the girl from church was so very happy that she went along with you guys.

Great start to your day! I love the picture of Mama after she tried the Beverly. I laughed out loud!

So glad Mama liked Soarin', and I think it's so sweet how John was so happy for Mama! :)

Wasn't that picture funny!

John looks out for my Mama and she does the same. They are so close which is good because he and his Mama aren't.

Way to go on getting to Epcot early and getting those Soarin' FPs!

I'm glad your Mama isn't having trouble with those moving platforms.

I love that fountain!

And hooray for a great ride on Soarin'!

I was hot footing it over to Soarin' and getting those Fastpasses and nobody was going to stop me.

Great update!! We were at Epcot that day also...although we didnt arrive at Epcot until about 1pm. That was our first day at Disney...had to finish the drive in!

What kind of coincidence would it have been had we seen you guys at Epcot?

Are you going to do a trip report? I wanna read about your trip!

Sounds like you guys had a great start to your first day!

The day started off just perfect!

You know, I'm just waiting for the picture of John asleep while on the phone at some random Disney location... there's gotta be one of those somewhere :p.

And a big WOOHOO on the next trip!

Also glad to hear that your mama is making it out great so far. I know you were concerned earlier with how she would do.

I gotta say, that shortening of Lisa's previous TR's name made me chuckle ;).

Oh yeah, you know John well. I have lots of phone and sleeping pictures coming. Just don't remember him ever falling asleep while talking on the phone.

I'm so excited about planning trip number 16!

Great Update! So glad your mom loved Soarin'! We have been hoping to get my MIL to go and my SIL/BIL have invited her to go with them next year and she said yes! Not sure if DH and I will be going or not, (hope so! ) But Soarin' is one of the ones we all have told her about that we think she will love.

Don't you know it would be great if ya'll got to go along with your inlaws?!?! It would be fun to see your mother in law's reaction to Disney.

Good Morning Lisa!!! Great update! I just LOVE Epcot! Odd how I use to dispise the place when I was a kid! Now it is one of my favorite parks!!! Soarin of course is a great ride!! My DH is also afraid of heights, but he loves this ride! Glad to hear your mom liked it and doing well on the moving platforms! They scare me sometimes! :scared1: Well, can't wait to read some more about your day at Epcot and your Dismeet!!

Morning! Well afternoon now. The first year we went to Epcot, we were thoroughly disappointed! We didn't get anything out of it at all. I am so very glad that we decided to give it another go because we now love it!

Great start of the day at Epcot, Lisa. So glad that your mom enjoyed Soarin' and John was smiling about it. Too funny about the phone call in the room; can't wait to see one of him "snoozing."

I KNEW you'd end up going back to CBR. Like me, you are very comfortable with what you are familiar with. And I think it is best for your mom as she will knkow where she is at, where she is going, etc.

Poor John, he can't go anywhere without a phone call.

Actually, John and I had already decided we were going to Coronado next trip. We liked the way it had a beach but yet it was different. When Mama said she wanted to go back, we figured we needed to stick with the CBR since she was familiar with it. The Coronado may still be in the cards for later trips.

Yay! I am caught up! I was abou 10 pages behind. I will admit I skimmed alot of it to catch up though.
I had read a few years ago that Pop had for the most part stop carrying resort only themed things as well because of costs. Disney is eventually going to all Disney themed things.
Your trip is sounding really fun. Yay for the Dismeet with Dana. I would love to make ropedrop someday too. Claire just likes to sleep in and if we don't let her, she could become very nasty. LOL!
I am so glad your Momma is/was having a good time and wants to go back.

I know that Disney is hurting just like the rest of us but it still makes me sad to know that there will soon be no more resort themed items.

Hey, if a little sleeping late keeps Claire happy, then by all means, sleep late. Nobody wants to have a grumpy along for the ride.

I'm subbing and looking forward to the rest of your trip report. I read your last one and loved and happy to find this one.

Since I found it late, I didn't read everyone's comments, so someone might have already mentioned this. But as far as having to get two rooms, last time we went with my mom, dh and ds, we got a suite at All Stars Music and really liked it. My mom said that the pull out sofa was actually pretty comfortable.

Just thought I would share. Can't wait for more installments to your report.

Great updates Lisa!! I love reading your reports, they are so detailed and make you feel like your right there with you.

I cannot wait to try Soarin with my family this year. A brand new thing for us. Both kids are tall enough and I'm super psyched. Reading your TR made me even more excited. :goodvibes

After a weekend in Akron, I had alot of catching up to do on your TR, which I was REALLY glad to have something to escape the evil thoughts I was having toward my DH. :rotfl:Family....they give you the tackiest gifts and then DH thinks you have to put them out even though they will never see it. :lmao: And, nothing like the ugliest house number sign you have ever seen for all the neighborhood to say "We knew they wouldnt add class to the neighborhood :rotfl2::rotfl2:.

I liked the pictures of Living with the Land. We have never seen it, but I do plan to put it on the 'list' now. I would love to get my mom to go with us. She would be the same way with my kids that your mom is with Hunter in the mornings.

Another great update! I also love Living With The Land. Your pics turned out great! I never can get good photos of the fish, they are always blurry. Also glad your mom is doing so well.

Terri

I know I'm late but I followed you over from Jordan's report.

I'm loving your report so far. We drive from Baton Rouge and our drive is a little shorter than yours.

Can't wait to read more.

I'm back, and now I'm caught up! We missed Living with the Land this trip, but I did get to ride Soarin' with my mom and aunt (her first visit), so I was very excited. We got to eat at Sunshine Seasons for the first time, too....all good stuff!

Glad to see Mama was handling things well, and that you got to meet with another Diser! I am jealous of your ticker, though...still trying to work on the hubby for the December '11 trip when I've graduated with my Master's degree. It feels odd not having a ticker...:sad2: It's so neat to look at your CBR pictures now and know I have some similar ones of my own! I could imagine you going into Old Port Royale and looking around the giftshop and the food court...yes, I'm easily amused. ;) Keep the updates coming!
