Who knew choking each other would earn us fastpasses?

I love the Magic Kingdom best.:lovestruc We usually hit Tomorrowland first too. But Stitch is only something we do every other trip.

Love the shopping pictures too!

Great update!:thumbsup2 Love all your pictures of the castle! It's definitely one of the best sights ever!:goodvibes We love Stitch in this family too...but we've never tried Stitch's Great Escape. I've heard so many bad reviews I wasn't sure we'd like it.:confused3 I'm sure eventually we'll give it a try.;) Can't wait to hear about Laugh Floor.

If we were to skip Stitch, it wouldn't ruin our vacation.;)

I think I'd at least give Stitch a try since you guys like the character.

Whew, been only partially here for awhile (work's been kicking me in the behind, but OT = Disney Money!) and fell a "few" pages behind (ok, was only about 6... good thing I'm a fast reader!)

So, without much further ado (maybe a little ado, but not a whole heck of a lot. I think this is just about the right amount of ado...)

In no particular order:
Huge congrats to Lacey! And to you and John as well (she doesn't deserve all the credit now does she? :p). The distance may be rought but you guys are obviously strong and will get through it. It'll only make the visits that much better anyway ;).

TT, Dismeets, Coral Reef... none of which I've done :(. Don't think there's any planned meets during my time in Sept either (I miss Kathy by about 3 days, and April on the other side by 2 or 3 ><). Test Track is a plan and I couldn't help but think of your "gotta pee" moment from last trip (erm or was it the trip before? I think I'm starting to get confused!) And lastly, Coral Reef. I may look into altering reservations if there's a spot there. I think I'd rather do that than Rose & Crown or Marrakesh, but it will all depend on when/if I can get a reservation for both Via Napoli and La Hacienda (the 2 new places, Via Napoli will be open when I'm there, La Hacienda might be).

Hope you have a good rest of the day :)

It's good to see you posting Allan. Overtime is a double edged sword....it wears you out but you can always use the extra money. Well, at least I can always use the extra money.

I wish you could meet up with some fellow Disers. It was a great meet!

Coral Reef has never let us down. It's a great food and a great atmosphere. We've eaten at Rose & Crown before and it was just plain....plain....plain....well, the food didn't have any taste so I guess it was plain. A lot of people like it though but for us Louisiana folks who are used to having a bit of kick to their food, it didn't have much taste to us.

Oh, and I'll pass along the Congrats to Lacey.

CONGRATS LACEY :banana::dance3::yay::woohoo:.

I know how hard it was to see her graduate and then have to leave her in Georgia. It is great to see our children accomplish great things, but when they have their own lives it kinda feels like a betrayal :sad1:. I know they are supposed to leave home, but boy that time sure does fly by.

The job market is horrible here too, in every field. I keep hoping it turns around, but it just seems to get worse. Amanda has a temporary job at the University of South Alabama Medical Center, but it is only for 3 months. Her boss at the University was able to get her on there because her job at web services was to end on August 13.

Thanks for the congratulations for Lacey. I was very proud of her for accomplishing another year doing her missionary work.

I sure hope that Amanda gets a permanent job soon. I know that will ease both your's and her mind.

Take your time, Lisa - we all know how crazy life can get!! :dance3:

It's just been so darn busy around my house. Seems like I can't get caught up with anything.

BUSY Weekend. How long did it take you to get to Dollywood then? We went there back when Skip and I first started dating. It was our first trip toghether and we brought Michael and Paige too. It was fun. We rented a cabin in the area. And a true test for Skip. He made it through a long weekend on vacation with my kids! LOL!

It took us about 4 hours to drive to Dollywood from Cleveland, Georgia. It wouldn't have taken quite so long if we hadn't gotten behind some slow traffic going through the National Park. It was a beautiful drive though.

:rotfl: I love John's "come-hither" pose! Too funny!

That stinks about your camera dying on you at Coral Reef. I hate when that happens. :headache:

Congrats to Lacey!! :yay:

John can strike a pose can't he. :rotfl: We are hardly ever serious around our house and we are especially silly when on vacation.

I hated that my camera died while in Coral Reef. I have horrible luck when it comes to cameras.

Yikey Crikey I was behind. :sad2: The story about your tooth is funny but I would have been so flustered if it had happened to me. I feel your pain on that one.

Congrats to Lacey! I know it is bittersweet but she had great parents and she is going to be just fine.

It was wonderful to meet you at the DIS meet. I didn't get a pic..I'm a loser and don't think about it. I get caught up in the moment and just, well, forget. :confused3

I hope we can meet up again one of these days! I kind of wish that Thanksgiving trip would have worked out for ya...we are going back then as well. :goodvibes

I can look back at the tooth story now and laugh about it. At the time it was happening, there wasn't any laughing on my part.

Lacey had a wonderful time in the Mission but is happy to be out. Now, she can complete her college courses and get a job!

I so wish we could go back to Disney at Thanksgiving but I'm now thinking that we'll be traveling to Georgia to see Lacey.

I can't believe you were so close to my house! I can be in Dollywood's parking lot from my house in an hour. We have season passes. I bet you went right through my town to get there. Can't wait to read your mini trip report!

Wow! I wish I had known for sure that we were going to Dollywood. It would have been nice if the two of us could have met.

I'm definitely with good old, sleepy, talk on the phone John on this one -- Stitch is stupid! ;)

For some reason, John can't stand Stitch. He absolutely hates him.

Great update. I have never been on stitch...but I have been on it whe nit was the alien thing (I forget the name now) I must say the first time I went in....it was the scariest thing EVER. My friend , her 17 year old brother and I...all screamed like babies. It was horrifying. :scared1: You could feel it breath on your neck, feel blood splatter, poked you in the back...I couldn't even believe it was Disney. When I went 2 years later I sat up and forward so I wouldn't go so many of the scary effects. LOL!
I hear Stitch has alot of the same effects, but not so scary. And I supposed the storylinemight make it better too. Does it stil lgo pitch black in there too?

I remember when Alien Encounter was in the Stitch's Great Escape building. It was scary.

The room does still go dark during the Stitch show but I think it's not as scary because you know it's just Stitch.

Can not wait to read this trip report.

Are you sure we are not related???

I dont have alot of funny stories but my family takes pleasure in laughing at me and telling EVERYBODY how I cried and pee'd my pants on the Disney Wonder during the sail away party when I saw MICKEY! ( And just for the record.... the pee pee part happened when I slipped going into the bathroom prior to the party BUT I did cry when Mickey came on stage for the sail away party.... you would have thought I was a love struck teenager and the hottest teen hearthrob just walked out on stage, Oh, well.... only us true disney lovers would understand ;) )

Welcome! After reading your funny story, I think we could be related. It's too funny!

We are definitely a "love Stitch" family. I don't necessarily love the ride, but the little blue guy is just fine with me!

I'm sure someone is very thankful that you took the time to turn the memory card in to the lost and found. I can't even imagine how I would feel if I lost my vacation pictures.

I like Stitch too. The attraction is just okay but I do like Stitch.

I had actually forgotten about the memory card until we got back to the resort that night. I had slipped it into my pocket and didn't see it again until we were in the room and were cleaning out our pockets. I put it in my camera to see if there was anything on it and I saw pictures of a cute family smiling ear to ear in a car. I figured they took them on the way to Disney. I only looked at two or three because I felt like I was invading the family's privacy.

Anyway, I turned the memory card in at City Hall and Mama and I walked back over to where John and Hunter were waiting. I guess I had been too busy trying to get over to City Hall to think to look down Main Street at Cinderella's Castle but I didn't. Now, as we turned to walk down Main Street, I caught my first glimpse of the castle. It's one of the best sites ever!

I know what you mean Lisa. Just looking at your picture makes me homesick fo the Magic Kingdom...6 more months!

Just 6 more months for you? You are so lucky. I'm still at 10 months.

Great update Lisa!!! Your family looks like they have as much fun as mine does. I just love your son, and your mama!!! My son is just a little younger than yours, he's 12, but is at that "age" LOL It's fun tho, I love different aspects of each age.

We do have a lot of fun together and are very rarely serious. Which is a good thing in my opinion!

Boys are strange creatures at any age!

subbing..I love reading these travel reports! (new to all of this stuff!)

Hope you are having a wonderful time in Georgia. Hasn't been the best weather so far this weekend (I'm about an hour and 1/2 from Helen)

Can't wait to read more about your trip!

Welcome aboard! Sorry it took me so long to respond to your post. It seems like I can't get caught up on anything now-a-days especially my trip report.

The weather wasn't too bad while we were in Georgia. It did rain on us all the way there though.

Hope you enjoyed your trip!!! Can't wait to hear all about it and see some pictures. :goodvibes

Hey girl! I hope you guys had a good weekend with Lacey! Congrats to her again...:goodvibes

Lisa, I hope you were able to spend a ton of time with Lacey! I can't imagine...my oldest is in the grade I teach this year (fourth), and I keep thinking that was never supposed to happen - she can't be that old! I'll be a blubbering mess when she gets old enough to be at the point Lacey is!!!

HI Lisa,
Congrats to Lacey! Hope you had a great time and I can't wait to hear about graduation. As many other readers have said, you and John have done a wonderful job raising Lacey, I hope things work out so she come home more often

Loved the pic of John sleeping....I have to admit that I also sleep during those rides....my husband has also snapped a few pics of me :rotfl2:

Thank you all so much! I think that John and I have raised Lacey to be a well grounded individual with a good head on her shoulders. She knows what she wants and, so far, she's gotten it. I just pray that it continues.

loving your tr :)

now you might have already answered this but with 39 pages its too much to read though :rolleyes1 but.....what month were you at disney???

Thanks! We were in Disney the last week of May through the first week of June.

Welcome home! Glad that you had a good visit with your daughter. I would have cried too!

Whew! I'm tired just reading about all that you did. You will have to tell us about the Smoky Mountains and Dollywood. I love to visit that area and look forward to hearing all about it! And I can't wait to see pictures of Lacey graduating!

Welcome back, Lisa. Can't wait to hear about the graduation and seeing pics of Lacey and the Smokey Mountains (we've not been there since around 1997).

Welcome back! Can't wait to see your pictures from the weekend.

I know you're very proud of Lacey!

What a great trip to Georgia! You must be so proud of Lacey! I can't wait to hear all about it. Have a great day!

Whoah - what a mammoth mini-trip. That doesn't quite make sense does it...;) You must be superwoman to do all that in a couple if days ;)

Can't wait to see the pictures, and glad you enjoyed too!

All caught up. Congrats to Lacey. Can;t wait to read about your adventure.

Finally caught up. Loved your day at Epcot. The pic with John asleep on Journey into Imaginationis adorable. My Aunt has one of my Uncle asleep on that from their trip a few years ago as well.

I am glad you had a good weekend with Lacey. Congrats on her graduation.

AWWW!!!! What a proud momma!!! I know I'll cry at my son's graduation. Shoot, I cry on the first day of school every year!!! HAHA Glad you had fun, and you made it home safe! Congrats to the grad!!

Thank you all! The trip was great and we had a good visit with Lacey. I am super proud of all of her accomplishments over the last three years. It takes a lot of dedication to commit yourself to a program like that.

Yep, Mark and I too. I don't know what it is, but we've just never liked him. That is part of the reason we won't go to Ohana's for breakfast.

I've been meaning to post on your thread or send you an email to see how you guys were doing. Mark still progressing okay?

Enjoy your time with Lacey. My oldest graduated in May from NSU. He has flown the coop and right now he and his wife are in Wisconsin. They will not be returning to Louisiana either. :sad2: I did get a little reprieve. He did his student teaching at Port Allen High in the spring so he was back with us from January until May.

You totally know how I feel. It's just so sad to know that Louisiana doesn't offer our kids a better future.

Congratulations on your daughter's graduation!!

I loved your update. How was the noise level in Coral Reef? We've eaten there before but usually for lunch and never had a problem. I'm surprised to see so many people thing it's too chaotic. Maybe that's at dinner? You all seemed to have a great time! :)

The noise level wasn't that bad. It was a little loud near our table because of the "happy" family sitting below/next to us.

I need a box of Kleenex after your last post. I am already a hot mess about Courtney leaving to move to Monroe. I can't imagine what you are going through. If I lived closer I would come cry with your. It is going to be ok. Why do they grow up so fast?

Oh, I was a hot mess when Lacey moved to Georgia. It's better now but nto a whole lot. I am serious about us meeting somewhere in Monroe whenever you come see Courtney.

Great update. I had to laugh when I saw John sleeping on the ride, my hubby does the same thing except he snores so we have to nudge him alot! Congratulations to Lacey on her graduation and to all of you for being a wonderful supporting family.

John can fall asleep just like THAT! He snores too so I usually sit beside him so I can nudge him a time or two.

Congratulations and a big hug to Lacey.

Congrats to Lacey! Enjoy your weekend with her. I understand what you are saying about wanting her to come back, but thinking it is best for her where she is. We have debated moving back to Monroe many times, but I don't think we ever will. I am very blessed to get to visit often though and I don't think my mom and could be any closer even if she lived next door. I am sure that no matter where Lacey ends up your wonderful family will remain close:goodvibes

Such a fun epcot day! I really have to try me a slushy. Your mama is such a good sport to ride test track! Love mousegears, definitely not as overwhelming as WoD. Coral Reef sounds yummy, let me put that on my list.

Congratulations to Lacey! I know you're very proud of her, and also sad about the situation. My daughter moved to Memphis to get her master's degree, then ended up staying while her fiance (now husband) got his doctorate. I missed her so bad, I did a lot of crying. But eventually, after 5 long years, they moved back to GA and now live only 20 minutes away. I get lots of time with my darling grandson, so sometimes it does work out well.

Terri

Thanks ya'll! I am definitely proud of Lacey's accomplishments. I try not to think about her being so far away from home but it sure is hard.

I've been meaning to post on your thread or send you an email to see how you guys were doing. Mark still progressing okay?

Mark is doing great. I'm a little ticked off as the angioplasty won't be done until September 3 (Friday before Labor Day and TWO WEEKS before our trip).

I am sure you have arrived at your destination by now, and I hope you had a good trip. When my daughter moved to Dallas with my grandchildren, I spent a lot of time on the road back and forth, and I thought I would be doing that for a long time. Luckily, her husband got a job back in Louisiana after four years and now she lives 5 minutes away. So you never know . . . Have fun with Lacey - CONGRATULATIONS to LACEY!! :cheer2::cheer2:

Oh gosh, I know I'd be a complete mess if I had grandchildren that far away. I have already told John that my grandchildren will be spoiled rotten!

I hope you have a great time on your trip to see Lacey! I know its so hard letting go but as close as you and Lacey are I'm sure she will always make time for her family. Sending you a hug:hug:

I can't wait to hear about you trip.

Thanks! It was hard saying goodbye but I know that Jesse is there to take good care of her.

Geeeeeeeeee, am I behind, or am I behind?

Answer: I'm behind! :lmao:

I think the last time I dropped by was on page 17 :scared1: But now I'm all caught up - and I've loved every minute of catching up. Your TR is as awesome as ever :thumbsup2

We're going to have to do something about that Hunter of yours ;) what is it with young boys, they can never get out of bed when they need to  my little brother is exactly the same. Some cold water sprinkles in the face often does the trick. Gosh, now I sound like a mean big sis...:rotfl:

Going back a bit now, and I hope I remember what I want to say....

I loved your report of LWTL. On our trip to Epcot last summer, LWTL was closed - but your pics and report have made up for that :goodvibes
And what a cool DISmeet in France - must be great to get together with "old" friends in one of the most magical places on Earth. Everyone looked like they had been having a blast in your group pic!
Mama looks like she's in her element in your pics of her shopping at Mouse Gears :cloud9: I'm glad that she's enjoying the whole experience. But then again, who wouldnt?!

I'm going to do my best to keep up to date with your TR - it brightens up the day after all :) I don't wanna be that behind again....!

Anyhoo, I hope you have a great time with Lacey at her graduation. She sounds like a star - you must be soooo proud :) Enjoy your time with her!!

Well, I've posted an update so you've got to get all caught up again!

Congrats to Lacey!!!!! :cool1:

Thanks!

sorry i missed those other tr' but i'm here now

Hello there! I'm glad to see you here. I sure hope that you'll feel free to post your thoughts. It's like one big happy family over here.

Hi Lisa!:goodvibes

Just got back from our mini-trip and catching up!:) First of all...congrats to Lacey!!! I hope you are having a great trip!!

Let's see if I can remember what I wanted to comment on..;)

Yay for riding Test Track! I'm so glad that your mom loved it! Oohh...and I love hearing about Disney shopping! It sounds like you got a lot of great purchases!

As you may remember from my TR's....we love Figment! It's definitely a must-do for us!:thumbsup2 Too funny that John fell asleep!!:rotfl:

I'm so happy that you enjoyed your Coral Reef dinner! We haven't tried it there yet but I would love to! It sounds like you had such a nice day in Epcot!! Can't wait for more!

You should really try Coral Reef. The food is good and the atmosphere is really cool.

I'm trying to catch up too. You and your DH are SOOOO Cute!!! So is your son and your mom. Looks like ya'll always have a great time!!!!

We definitely have a good time together!

I just got back from my vacation and I am all caught up! I love people watching you meet some interesting folks down in Walt Disney World! Its half the fun! Congrats to Lacey on her graduation!

Have you started a trip report? I'd love to come read if you have.

Helloooooo humans! Yes, I am referencing The Laugh Floor! Well, yesterday, I brought my camera to work and burned the Georgia/Tennessee pictures onto a disc. I didn't have time to look at the pictures, I just burned the disc while I was working. Last night, I was looking at them and there were no graduation pictures on the disc. So, I plugged the camera up to my home computer to see what the deal was and there are no graduation pictures on there! What the flip?

Every gosh darn picture that was on my camera that I took prior to us eating dinner with Lacey and Jesse are gone. I have no idea what happened. I am upset. I called Lacey last night and she's going to call one of the Mission parents and see if they took pictures of the graduation ceremony. I know that there were several people from the church walking around taking pictures so, hopefully, we can get a copy of their pictures.

I have the worst luck with cameras! Anyway, I do have pictures of our drive through the National Park and Dollywood. I'll get those uploaded and then write the mini-report.

In the meantime, I'm trying to organize the next set of Magic Kingdom pictures so I can post another installment.

Oh, Lisa. I'm so sorry. I can't believe you lost your pictures of Lacey's graduation ceremony. Hopefully one of the other parents will share their pictures with you.

I have no idea what happened to the pictures. I remember us looking at them after I took them and then, again, when we were eating. I'm hoping that maybe, just maybe, I have them on one of my other memory cards. I brought along the four memory cards that I used while in Disney so that Lacey and Jesse could see some of the pictures. I could have the wrong memory card in the camera. Yes, I am grasping at straws but it could be a possibility.

Even if I don't find them, I know somebody at the church or another parent will have some pictures.

OH NO!!
When you bought the new camera, did you get rid of the old memory card that gave you trouble last trip? maybe it's that one particular card that is bad?

 Sorry to hear about the graduation pictures - here's to hoping that you get some back/from some other parents :) Yes, photos are a lovely way to remember the occasion, but you'll always have that memory in your heart too. I hope you manage to sort something :goodvibes

So, I came home and started looking at my various memory cards. And I found the graduation pictures!!!!!!! I'm soooo very happy! Now, I just have to get everything in order and onto photobucket.
