Who is the nicest TV star's you have met and who are the not so nice?

That's ridiculous. She DOES own her own business and they are not one race.

So she does own her own plane with a multi-racial crew?

Then these flight attendants who work for airlines are lying about her being on their planes? If so, I stand corrected. I admit I have no idea why more than one flight attendant would lie about such a thing, however, but people's motives are often inexplicable.

Let's see...

Jim Belushi was great! Meet him outside a restaurant in Chicago -- I was going in, he was coming out. He said hello, asked how I was doing and chatted for a minute before getting into a waiting limo. The sad part was I did not even recognize him until after he was gone. But such a nice guy:)

Joe Manganiello (Alcide on True Blood) is super nice! And much more attractive in real life:faint: Went to see a play he was doing in San Diego (pre-True Blood) and made plans via Facebook to meet up afterwards. Gave me a hug as soon as he saw me and even introduced me to his family like I was an old friend.

Richard Thomas (John Boy Walton) is also a real sweetheart.

Doris Roberts was nice, but seemed a bit out of it :confused3

All four member of Boyz 2 Men are nice. Bryan Abrams from Color Me Badd was pretty nice too. And Debbie Gibson was super sweet! She spent some time talking to my niece when we were at an 'Nsync soundcheck (she was the opening act).

Oh, and I can't forget Ted Turner! Met him at his restaurant in Atlanta -- he was really nice, but so drunk that I doubt he remembered talking to us :rotfl:

Went to school with Rick Mirer (former Notre Dame quarterback -- played a bit in the NFL, I think for Seattle and Chicago) -- not sure that he would be considered a celebrity, but total jerk. Has an ego the size of Jupiter.

Joe Manganiello is ridiculously good looking. It's not even fair really.

During a trip to NYC in May 1998 I met 2 stars:

NICE:

Lisa Nicole Carson (She was an actress on "Ally McBeal) was super nice! I recognized her outside of Tiffany's on 5th Avenue. She stopped to chat and she posed for pictures with me. Her Mom was with her and took the pictures. She was wearing a hat and her Mom told her to take it off for the 2nd picture!

NOT SO NICE:

Al Roker. We were at 30 Rock and he was down in one of the snack bars. I introduced myself as a fan and asked for a photo with him. He agreed but was scowling in the picture. The interaction was less than pleasant.

------at a different time:

I literally "ran" into Steve Perry (lead singer of Journey) back during the early 90's. I was walking down the street and bumped into someone and said "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry!" He said "no problem" and smiled, and then I realized who it was! I then got all flustered and said "You're Steve Perry!!!! You're so awesome!!!" And he replied with another huge smile and said thanks! I wish I had my camera on me.

I met Frank Bielic (designer on "Trading Speces" at an appearance. He was so sweet and chatty and posed for a few pictures. I mentioned that I loved a tile table project he did on one of the episodes and he spent the next few minutes writing down a drawing of exactly how to do it!!!

I've been a Broncos fan since I was young because one of my friends in school was one. Last year, I moved to Colorado. Since then, I have gotten involved in an organic coffee business. One of the "diamonds" in the area who holds meetings is Rod Smith (a former Denver Bronco and one whom I always admired a great deal.) He is just as nice as I always thought he would be. I actually met him about a week before I got involved in the business because he asked on Twitter for bucket list wishes and the one I mentioned was to meet him. He had me on his radio show and when I was at the intro meeting for the business eight days later, he still remembered me. He may even be coming to my wedding in October.

If you are talking Broncos, hands down one of the nicest is Ed McCaffery. He holds a Dare to Play and Dare to Cheer camp for kids with Down syndrome every summer. He spends so much time with the kids, really getting down in the trenches to teach football to these boys that want nothing more than to play football. He doesn't just lend his name to the camp, he is there doing the teaching.

Met the new Mrs. Elway (Paige) a couple of weeks ago at a charity kick-off party. Nice enough, but a bit of the "I am one of the beautiful people" attitudes. But it might be expected from a former Oakland Raiders Cheerleader in Bronco Nation :goodvibes

Harpo employees

Of course the Harpo employees are not all one race. There is this little law that doesn't look too kindly at companies that hire all one race, any race.

But there are no laws preventing her from being witchy and insisting on being waited on by a specific race.

As a PP questioned, why would numerous different flight attendants lie about the exact same thing? Who knows. Maybe she has just had a number of bad days.

I met Alexis Mateo (RuPaul's Drag Race) recently. She performed at a pride event and signed/took pictures after :)

She was very sweet, she called me a cutie and gave me a kiss, gushed over my niece, and obsessed over my friend's shirt (managing to rub his chest, lol). I have never met anybody else (and she is pretty D list) but I am sure she would have been the nicest. ;)

Andy Griffith, mean as a snake, I used to live in the same city with him, and he stopped in passing at the grocery store parking lot to pet my dog, but was very snippy with me when I just kindly said 'hello.'

Aww, not Andy :sad1: That makes me sad.

There is an earlier post about how nice Captain & Tenille are, so I want to chime in and add that they live in the same town as my parents and are very active volunteers in the community. My mother works with the Red Cross and says that Captain & Tenille are always the first in line to help. And not just financial help -- they roll up their sleeves and do the dirty work without ever mentioning their stardom or ever expecting to be treated differently. They are awesome.

Years ago, DH and I rode the monorail at WDW with Dan Marino (QB for Miami Dolphins) and his family. He is soo tall and MUCH better looking than he appears on TV. :goodvibes We didn't approach him since he was with his family.

Another time at WDW, (EPCOT to be exact) Kelly Ripa passed me by Spaceship Earth. She was pushing a double stroller while her husband walked beside her. She was such a tiny thing!!

DSister used to work for a Hotel in NYC. She met many famous people but the one that sticks out in my mind was Florence Hendersen. DSister said she was a royal witch (substitute b for w)!!! It blew my mind that Carol Brady could be anything other than nice!!

I need to chime in about Robin Williams...
DBIL met him about 17 years ago while working. DBIL and DSister were getting married soon and DBIL got to talking to Robin Williams about their honeymoon. They planned to go to Prague. Robin Williams chatted with him about it and a few days later called him to recommend places to visit. DBIL said he couldn't have been nicer!! I guess everyone has bad and good days!!

Dan is the MAN! oh yeah, he's way past a 10 on the hot meter, lol. I remember when he was getting married, my friends and I were all like, "She's not worthy!" But Claire proved us wrong :thumbsup2 He is a genuine guy...and admits his faults, which are few as far as I'm concerned.

I would've fallen apart! LOVE LOVE LOVE HIM! Greatest voice ever, IMHO.

Funny story for ya'll from today. I had a shoot today for an international company and they asked me to hire an actor. I knew a regular from Starbucks who had done some L.A. work so I asked him if he wanted to make some cash. Of course he agreed! So today I'm telling him about this thread and he is laughing hysterically! He wanted to know if I mentioned his name and I had to say no. I knew he had been on Seinfeld and so I started asking about who he has worked with that was nice/not nice. Uh, this dude has been in A LOT of stuff! He was in Almost Famous, Matlock, Murder She Wrote, Turner and Hooch, Seinfeld, etc etc etc!

So, I personally know Scott Stevens! He's super nice, but wanted me to say he's an S.O.B. because it might help his career! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

At any rate, he's here in NC now and doesn't want to be in the biz anymore, but misses L.A. and his daughter might get started in showbiz soon......... He could be her agent!

His thoughts: Really Nice: Tom Hanks, Reese Witherspoon, Jerry Seinfeld. He said Seinfeld has an affinity for actors because he knows he isn't one! :lmao:

Not Nice at all!!: Andy Griffith. He said Andy didn't even have the courtesy to read lines. All of the scenes where you are looking over Andy's shoulders at other actors were done by a stand-in. Andy did his lines and left.

Andy Griffith, mean as a snake, I used to live in the same city with him, and he stopped in passing at the grocery store parking lot to pet my dog, but was very snippy with me when I just kindly said 'hello.'

A former co worker said the same thing. It did make me sad, but I had no reason to doubt he was telling the truth.

Ed McCaffrey is definitely nice from what I've heard as well....he and Rod were both guys I admired a great deal and both have talked to me on Twitter. I just got the opportunity to know Rod a lot better.

:worship::cloud9::faint:

I sooo love Steve Perry. DH's nephew sat beside him at a ballgame a couple of years ago. Said he was nice and just 'one of the guys'.

I would've fallen apart! LOVE LOVE LOVE HIM! Greatest voice ever, IMHO.

Agreed! Steve Perry is the BEST! :thumbsup2

I met Jerry Clower back stage once, not long before he passed away. He was very nice, and happy to talk to us, but he seemed very tired, almost out of breath. You couldn't tell it during his show, though. He was the greatest comedian EVAH! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

A couple of years ago I met Henry Winkler at the airport. He had forgotten his glasses and asked me to help him by reading something on his ticket for him. I immediately called my husband and said "I was helpful to the Fonz!!". Very sweet man.

I met Henry Winkler as well (albeit virtually), he was doing a video conference on behalf of raising money for epilepsy research. I have been epileptic since I was 13 and I believe his oldest child is as well. Truly a great man, and a very devoted dad.

The other (not really T.V.) star that DH and I met was on our last trip to WDW, Michael Oher. So incredibly nice and considerate. He was there getting off of Splash Mountain with his family, and DS#2 was having a meltdown, helped clear our path to get him off of Splash and to a quiet place and shook my DH's hand. Great and considerate guy. Never cared much for football before, but I will be his fan for life for doing that for us!

I used to work for Us Weekly for a while, so I've had a chance to meet a bunch of celebrities. But the nicest person I met was Neil Patrick Harris at EPCOT. He had just finished narrating the Candlelight Processional and as he was walking backstage, he stopped and took pictures with anybody who approached him. Really nice guy.

My husband often works with celebrities & athletes, and according to him the most kind, generous, and helpful are: Cher, Jay Leno, David Spade, and Laura Bush.
The very best of the best is Dolly Parton.

The most rude, inconsiderate, and self-absorbed are: Robin Williams, Barry Bonds, and Jennifer Lopez.
The very worst of the worst is Julia Roberts.

My boyfriend worked with Robin Williams for a couple of months and had nothing but nice things to say about him. I guess people's experience's are different. I've worked with lots of no name actors, with big egos.

I forgot I sat across from a football star in college! Philip Rivers (QB for the Chargers) went to NC State, and we were there the same years. During a philosophy test, he was one of the last to arrive and his desk was in the front of the room and faced mine. I remember thinking how ugly his shoes were, but figuring that if your feet are that big, your shoe choices are probably limited.

That said, I do believe there had to be some special treatment going on. I am a fast test taker. This one was all essay, which I tend to be especially quick with. I had written for a while and took a quick restroom break. I was literally at my half-way point. I came back, and he was gone. There is NO way he could have finished that quickly. He had to have written "My name is Philip Rivers" and then doodled for a while, then left. I was maybe 3rd (other than him) to finish and I bet I was there at least another hour. The other 50+ students were still going.

hey i was at state the same years... i'm a big chargers fan now cause of rivers and it always bothers me when i hear some bad rap about him being a bad guy cause he talks some trash. i cant speak toward his intelligence, but i had an encounter playing basketball that he really showed himself to be a great guy.

i played intramural basketball and ended up playing with a lot of football players. some were quiet, some were obnoxious, but i dont remember any coming across as nice (other than manny lawson... i was mutual friends with manny lawson who now plays for the bengals...very smart, very funny guy).

however, when we played philip's team, he was having fun, pretty good shooter...anyway, a friend of mine on my team came down awkwardly on his knee and was crumpled on the floor in some pretty bad pain. someone ran off to get the medical staff and the other team walked to their bench to get water and what not....well, everyone but rivers. he came over and knelt down beside my friend and started asking him about his life. found out he was engaged, asked him about his fiance, what he did at the school, etc...my friend was able to keep talking to him until the medical staff got there. i'll never forget that, cause he was a big man on campus even then, before the huge contracts. some of those guys on the team werent as high profile as rivers and were much more full of themselves.
