Same here, NannyBeBe. My name is more common in longer forms. I did once send a Christmas stocking to a Disboard member who shares my first name and long ago an Old Navy employee had my name as well.
I’m also in that situation. I’ve met several people with my name but I don’t actually know anyone who shares my name. The way my name is spelled is also an unusual variation from the norm.
I share these with my name as well. my name also does not lend itself to be shortened/lengthened or allow for a 'nickname' variation. as a kid it was disappointing to never see souvineer type items sold at theme parks and vacation spots with my name (and for those of you old enough to remember this reference.....miss maryanne from 'romper room' never said she saw me in her magic mirror ).
so-did anyone else take this experience into naming their own kids?
